Johnnie Brown, Sr.

Johnnie Randal Brown Sr., 65 of Wayne County, Mo.,  passed away Saturday, Jan, 29, 2011, in Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tenn.  Private memorial servvices  at the Eagles in Wappapello are pending. 

Mr. Brown was born Oct. 14, 1945, in St. Louis, Mo.  He formerly lived in High Ridge, Mo., and was of the Baptist faith.  He was a truck driver for Mid Continent Nail Corp. in Poplar Bluff, MO.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles at Wappapello , Mo, where he had served two terms as president.  He loved working at the Eagles. He was secretary for the Chanoia, Mo. Volunteer Fire Dept.

On Jan. 15, 1966, he married Barbara Weibrecht at E. St. Louis, Ill,  and she survives.

Other survivors include; one son, Johnnie Randall Brown, Jr. of Colton, Cal; his father, Gerald Brown of Grants Pass, Ore; five sisters, Jeannie Keifer of Baldwin, Mo., Sharon Faith of California, Mo., Geraldine Thomas of Hennepin, Ill,. Daphene Stevenson of England and Debbie Tyler of Romania; one brother Ennis White of Wildomar, Ca. , and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bobby Lee Aden

Bobby Lee Aden, 82 of Poplar Bluff passed away January 24, 2011 at St. Louis University Hospital.  Visitation will be 6-8 PM  Friday January 28, 2011 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home 844 Cedar St. Poplar Bluff.  A graveside service will be at 11AM Saturday January 29, 2011 at Black Creek Cemetery.

Mr. Aden was born Nov. 19, 1928 in Poplar Bluff, MO  He was of the baptist faith.  He had served in the Navy.  He was an industrial sewing machine repairman.  He loved writing and singing country music and loved antiques.

He was formerly married to Elizabeth Robertson Craft; whom is the mother of three children and she survives.  He was also previously married to Sandy Reynolds Hayes; who is the mother of one daughter and two step sons and she too survives. 

Also surviving is a daughter; Judy Roach and husband Robbie of Tuscon, AZ  ; daughter; Joyce Urich and husband Dale of GA; two step sons; Michael Gibbs and Joshua Buhler both of Poplar Bluff. One daughter-in-law; Belinda Aden Winters of Poplar Bluff.  Grandchildren; Amy Bataoel, Robin Roach, Lori Armes, Dustin Urich, Matthew Urich, Ashley Aden, Aaron Aden.  Great grandchildren; Payton Bataoel, Presley Bataoel, Ian Urich, Chelsea Merrit, Joe Moss, Zach Brookerson, Lexi Armes.

He was preceded in death by; a son; Terry Lee Aden; daughter; Julie Anne Aden and parents; Alva Adedn and Beulah “Lamb” Aden

Rev. Louis “Johnny” St.Cin

Rev. Louis “Johnny” St.Cin, 73 of Fairdealing, Mo. died Monday January 24, 2011 at his residence. He was born November 7, 1937, at Coon Island In Butler county. He was a life long resident of the area. Rev.  St. Cin had served as  pastor in several different churches in the State of Missouri. He enjoyed Preaching, loved people,  horses and buggies as well as building houses.

He was member of the Coon Island General Baptist Church where he had served as pastor in the past. He is survived by, fours Sons; Johnny “Eddie” St.Cin of Texas, Michael St.Cin and wife Tonya, Danny St.Cin and wife Patricia and Bryan St.Cin and wife Wendy all of Fairdealing, Missouri. One Sister Orlena Emmons of Neelyville, Missouri and a Special Friend, Jimmy Jones of Neelyville, Mo. 11 grandchildren and 8 great Grandchildren also survive.  He was preceded in death by his father Ed St. Cin and his mother Bertha Crow St.Cin as well as one brother, Charles St.Cin.

Visitation for Mr. St.Cin will be Wed. January 26, 2011 at Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel in Neelyville, mo.  Funeral Services will be Thursday January 27, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Neelyville. Rev. Alton Nixon will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Coon Cemetery near Neelyville, Mo.

Jerry Peak

Jerry Bruce Peak, 65, of Millersville, Mo. passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at John J. Pershing Veterans Hospital in Poplar Bluff, Mo. 

He was born October 1, 1945 in Pontiac, Michigan to parents Wanda Ruth( Duncin) Peak and James Gordon Peak, both preceded him in death.

A graveside military funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 27, 2011 in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Bloomfield, Mo.

Edward “Big Ed” Young

Edward ‘Big Ed’ Young , 69, of Poplar Bluff, passed away January 24, 2011 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.  Visitation will be 7-9 PM Thurs at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar St. Poplar Bluff, MO  A graveside funeral will be at 11 AM Friday at City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.  Bobby Jack Burns officiating.  Big Ed was born March 11, 1941 in Flat River, MO  to the late Marion Young and Violet Reese-Young.  He had worked many years for the Poplar Bluff Auto Auction.  He enjoyed watching John Wayne movies, Clint Eastwood movies and playing video games. 

On February 2, 1997 he was married to Lavella Huggins-Young in Poplar Bluff and she survives.  He was previously married to Eva West and she preceded him in death.

Surviving are one daughter; Vicky Limpert of Poplar Bluff and fourteen step-children;  Tina Angelly, Kimberly Anspach, Brian Lamb, Deborah Whitlock, David Smith, Alvin Francis, Ralph Morris all of Poplar Bluff. Rosa Fairman, Daniel Morris, Anita Potts of Oklahoma, Donna Lenz of Doniphan; Sheila Law and Andrea Githera of Paragould and Rita Williams of Dexter.

Two full grandchildren and numerous others.  Also surviving are many great grandchildren.

Ora Standeford

Ora Lee Standeford, 73, of Poplar Bluff passed away Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, at her residence. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at  Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar, Poplar Bluff, Mo.  Funeral services  will be at 11 a.m. Wed.  at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, Ellsinore, Mo.  with Elder Eddie Conover officiating.  Burial  in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Ellsinore, Mo.

Mrs. Standeford was born Dec. 27, 1937, in Troy, Mo.  She was a former resident of Veneta, Ore. and Dexter, Mo.  She was a homemaker who enjoyed baking cakes, gardening and scrapbooking.  She was a member of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church at Ellsinore, Mo.,  where she was very active and served as church  clerk for several years. 

On May 8, 1954, she married George Standeford in Eugene, Ore., he survives.  Other survivers include two daughters, Robin Robinson and husband Randy, of dexter, Mo., and Sherry Vance and husband, Kelley, of Poplar Bluff; five sons, Tony Standeford, Robert Standeford, Gary Standeford, all of Poplar Bluff, Tim Standeford and Merlin Standeford, both of Veneta, Ore., two sisters, Veeta Farris of Washington State and Nancy Dugan of Eugene, Ore.; two brothers, Euler Dunlap of Springfield, Ore., and Inman Dunlapp of Veneta, Ore.; 14 grandchildren, Mindy Thurlkill, James Robinson, Tony Standeford, Coleena Standeford, Austin Standeford Joshua Standeford, Chris Standeford, Chasy Standeford, Cory Standeford, Andrew Standeford, Melissa Urein, Lindsey Vance, Stephanie Davis and Kelsey Vance; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emery Dunlap and Sybil (Hampton) Dunlap, one son, Rodney Standeford, three sisters, Nadine Thompson, Elda Lewis and Freda Eschilman, and one brother, Vincent Dunlap.

Shirley Stone

Shirley Stone, 74, of Poplar Bluff went to heaven to live eternaly with her Savior on January 22, 2011 at her residence with her family at her side.  Visitation will be from 10AM-12 on Tuesday January 25, 2011 with service to follow at noon.  At Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home 844 Cedar St. Poplar Bluff, MO  Rev. Larry Edwards and Rev. Steve Winberry will officiate and burial will be in Memorial Gardens.  Family requests, in lieu of flowers, make memorials to UCAN (united cancer assistance network)  1419 Maud Street Poplar Bluff, MO  63901

Heaven lit up with a mighty presence, as the Angels all looked down.  Today the Lord was placing the jewels into my Mothers’ crown.  He held up the golden crown, as my darling Mother looked on.  Then God said in His gentle voice, my precious daughter, it’s time for you to come home.  And so it was at 2:02 AM on Saturday January 22, 2011 that Shirley Stone, age 74 of Poplar Bluff, MO, with family and friends gathered around was ushered from this life into the throne room of God. 

She was born October 12, 1936 in Butler County to the late Luther Andrew Stone and Anna LaBrier.  She was a member of Black Creek Missionary Baptist Church.  She had worked 25 yrs as a dental assistant for Dr. Robert Flatt.  She enjoyed her family, craft shows, and collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia. 

June 11, 1955 she married Donald Stone in Butler County and he survives.  She is also survived by three children; Dennis Stone and wife Cindy of Portland, TX, Scott Stone and wife Linda of Poplar Bluff; and JoAndrea Stone of Poplar Bluff. Nine grandkids; Scotty Lee Stone and wife Jessica; Kassie Straub and husband David, Ernest Hinojosa of Portland, TX, Lissa DeLeon of Corpus Christi, TX, Dennis Stone Jr of Portland, TX; Katreena Stone of Portland, TX; Stephanie Stone of Austin, TX; Matthew Rushin of Poplar Bluff; and Aimee Gerdes and husband John of Poplar Bluff.  Ten great grandkids; Briana Hinojosa of Jonesboro,AR; Ernest Hinojosa Jr of Portland, TX; Elena Hinojosa of Portland, TX; Angel DeLeon of Corpus Christi, TX; Emmaleigh Stone of Springfield, MO; Trinnadee Stone of Fisk, MO; Xander Straub of Fisk, MO ; Nolan Gerdes of Poplar Bluff; Cole Sisson of Poplar Bluff and Conner Sisson of Poplar Bluff. A sister Peggy Tinsley and husband Harold of Poplar Bluff; and a brother James Walker of Poplar Bluff.  And numerous nices and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Burris Walker; a sister-in-law Elwain Walker; a sister; Elizabeth (Sitty) Oltman; a brother-in-law Bumps Oltman and a sister-in-law Mildred Walker. 

Shirley’s family and friends will miss her tremendously.

Robert Pearl

Robert Pearl, 80, passed away January 13, 2011 at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center, Poplar Bluff, Mo. 

Mr. Pearl was born May 19, 1930 at Yonkers, New York.  He  previously lived in Arkansas and New York and was a carpet layer. 

He is survived by two niece, Robyn Pearl of  New York; and Barbara Pearl of New York; a nephew, Jeffery Pearl of NY; one sister-in-law; Gloria Pearl of NY and five great nieces and nephews survive.

Clifford M. Stackhouse

Clifford M. Stackhouse, 68 of Silva, Mo. passed away  Dec. 31, 2010 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. 

He was born October 13, 1942 at Hillsboro, Pa.  He worked in construction and formerly lived in Los Angeles, Ca.  for 30 years. 

He is survived by one daughter, Tammy Stackhouse, Montrose, Colorado and one son, Shane Stackhouse, Colorado. 

No services planned, Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Alva Louise Riley

A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Kingdom Hall of  Jahovah’s Witnesses on Highway NN with Jearl Griffin officiating. 

Alva Louise Riley of Poplar Bluff passed away Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011 at home .  She was 76.  Mrs. RIley was born August 1, 1934, at Harviell, Mo. and was a lifetime Butler County resident.  She was a homemaker and member of  Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.  She enjoyed crosswords and jigsaw puzzles.

She married Richard Leonard Riley on September 27, 1958.  He prededed her in death on December 22, 1993.

Survivors include; one son, Ricky Leon Riley and wife, Linda Ruth, of Poplar Bluff; two daughters, Vicki Lynn Russell and husband, Harlan and Debra Kay Riley, both of Poplar Bluff, three sisters, Viola Cassey of Salem, Mo.,  Maxine Stansberry of Arizona and Ruth Sollars of Poplar Bluff; two brothers, Don Sollars of Spain and Gerald Sollars of Jefferson City, Mo.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin “Pop” and Elsie  “Brown” Sollars, one daughter, Pamela Robinson, one sister, Joyce Walker and one brother Bill Sollars.
