Alice Faye “Bruce” Bayne

Alice Faye Bruce Bayne, daughter of Daniel Bruce and the late Wilma Faye “Moore” Bruce passed away at her residence in Naylor, Missouri, June 5, 2011. She is survived by her sisters, Joyce Anne Bayne and Mary Elizabeth Ford as well as her brother Oliver Franklin Bruce. visitation for Alice will be Wed. June 8, 2011  with a graveside service starting at 11:00 am  in the Gum Cemetery with Kevin Ford officiating.

Alfred Louis Pronk

Alfred Louis Pronk, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri passed away May 30, 2011 in the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. He was born November 11, 1950 in Indonesia. He had worked at the McDonald Douglas Aircraft construction as a tool and die engineer.

Mary Lou Stephens

Mary Lou Stephens, of Corning, Arkansas passed away May 28, 2011 at her residence in Corning. She was born May 5, 1922 in Butler County, Missouri to Earl and Ruby Dollins  Hutcherson. She is survived by her children, Eddie Stephens of corning, Arkansas and Terry Shaw of Doniphan, Mo., and Vicki Villaluna of Corning, Arkansas. Sisters Francis Reeves of Neelyville, Missouri Jean Little of Doniphan, Missouri and Sharon Kay Yandell of Neelyville, Missouri. Eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren also survive.   Services for Mrs. Stephens will be held Friday June 3, 2011 at Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel  at Neelyville, Missouri with Donnie  Fowler officiating. Burial will be in the Roberts Cemetery.

Archie Leonard Gladden

Archie Leonard Gladden of Fairdealing, Missouri, passed away May 25, 2011 at the John J. Pershing V.A. Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.. He was born November 22, 1919, in Ripley County, Missouri.  On October 21, 1945, at Oxly, Missouri , he was married to Mary Etta Pennington.  She survives. Also surviving are Two Children, Donald L. Gladden of Fairdealing and Mary Alice Rushton of Poplr Bluff, missouri.He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Services for Mr. Gladden will be on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 2:00 p.m.  at the Springhill Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Springhill Cemetery.  Pastor Sean Kallner and Bro Lee Miller Officiated.

Beatrice Barnes

Beatrice “Sister B” Barnes, 84, of Poplar Bluff, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff. 

She was born August 18, 1926, at Poplar Bluff, and was a member of Lively Stone Church.  Her hobbies included knitting and knitting  shoes for children,(for which she was featured in the Daily American Republic newspaper and KFVS chanel 12 news), baking, reading, watching movies, sewing and she was very active in church.  

Surviving are two daughters, Jacqueline Barnes and Gwendolyn Barnes; one sister, Melvina Cleveland; six grandchildren and seven  great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Ann Barnes, two sisters, Thelma Cleveland and Henrietta Cleveland, and her parents, Loren Cleveland and Margorie (Ferby) Cleveland.

A memorial service will be held from 1-2 p.m. Saturday, July 2, 2011, at 415 and 419 W. Harper Street, Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Randy Nelson

Randy Nelson of Poplar Bluff,  passed away Monday, June 14, 2011 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center, Sikeston, Mo., at the age of 48.

A memorial service will be held from 6:30 – 8 p.m., Friday, June 17, 2011 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar Street, Poplar Bluff, Mo. 

Mr. Nelson was born June 7, 1963 at Dexter, Missouri to parents Clifford Nelson and Sue (Hallum) Nelson.  Both survive.

He  was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed music and muscle cars. 

Also surviving are his son; Christipher Nelson and wife Gabrielle; brothers, Scott Hallum and Rick Nelson; two grandchildren, Ryan Alexander Nelson and Khole Gene Nelson.

Martin “Marty” Michael Metzing

Martin “Marty” Michael Metzing, of Poplar Bluff, passed away, Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, at the age of 71.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar Street, Poplar Bluff, Mo.  Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2011 in the chapel.  Rev. Brent Seawel will officiate.  Burial in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Hwy. 21 north, Doniphan, Mo.

Mr. Metzing was born July 21, 1939 at Brooklyn, New York to parents Christian Metzing and Helen (Witty) Metzing.  Both preceding him death.

He enjoyed flea marketing and ministry work, and was a member of  Grand Avenue Baptist Church. 

On May 21, 2002, he married Sue Ann (Davis) Metzing at Dexter, Missouri.  She survives.

Also surviving are his children; Richard A. Metzing, Fort Worth, Texas, Michael Metzing, Jeffersonville, Indiana, Melanie Hill, Fairdealing, Mo., William C. Metzing, Fairdealing, Mo., and Phillip Metzing, High Ridge, Mo.  Thirty-six grandchildren and  twenty-seven great-grandchildren survive.

Lilliana Marie Sikes, 5 1/2 months; found herself craddled in Jesus’ arms on June 6, 2011 at her residence.  Visitation will be at 11 AM Thursday June 9, 2011 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home 844 Cedar St.  Poplar Bluff.  Services will begin at noon Thursday, June 9th in the chapel with Bro. Allen Leutert officiating.  Burial will be in Hvam Cemetery.

Lilliana was born December 17, 2010 in Poplar Bluff, to Bobby Sikes and Amanda Vinson, who both survive, of Poplar Bluff.  She is also survived by grandparents Flossie Sikes and Ivy Sikes of Poplar Bluff and Grandmother Lisa Barriner of Poplar Bluff.  Lillian is survived by one brother Gage Lee Sikes of Poplar Bluff.

Curtis C.  Whitlock, 43, of Wappapello passed away June 6, 2011 at Poplar Bluff, MO  Visitation will begin at 1PM Friday, June 10, 2011 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home 844 Cedar Street Poplar Bluff.  Funeral Service will be at 2PM in the chapel with Rev. Calvin Buhler officiating.

Curtis C. Whitlock was born Dec. 7, 1967 in St. Louis, Mo to Curtis D. Whitlock and Mary Hayes-Whitlock both of Poplar Bluff. On Aug. 12, 2008 he was married to Leta York-Whitlock.  Also surviving are six children; Nathan Whitlock, Brieanna Whitlock, Cody Hastings, and Heather Schefer all of Tallapoosa, MO, James Barrilleaux of Wappapello, Tammy Shirley and Chuck Winagura both of California.  Three sisters; Christa Whitlock of Poplar Bluff, Merdith Whitlock of Wisconsin and Teresa Wyeth of Danville, Indiana and one grandchild.

Allison,”‘Ally” Daughhetee 8,  foud herself sheltered in the arms of God Wednesday, June 1, 2011 in Madison County, as the result of a car accident.  Visitation will be Tuesday, June 7, 2011 from 5-9PM at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home 844 Cedar St.  Poplar Bluff.  Funeral will be 1 PM Wednesday, June 8, 2011 in funeral home chapel with Bro. Shelvie Stephens and Bro. George Howell officiating.  Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Williamsville.

Ally was born May 10, 2003 in DesMoines, Iowa to Ronald Daughhetee Jr. and Melissa Blaha -Daughhetee, who both survive.  She attended Walnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church.  She was on the ‘A’ Honor Roll at Oak Grove Elementary School in Poplar Bluff.  She received a leadership award in her classroom and a library and a music award at her school.  She enjoyed playing soccer, reading, riding her bicycle and her scooter, and singing at church.  Ally was a junior auxillary member for American Legion Post 153.  She also enjoyed wrestling on the bed with Pa Pa Ron, giving monkey hugs to grandpa Jerry and having sleepovers with Sissy. 

Also surviving are her grandparents; Ronald and Betty Daughhetee of Poplar Bluff, Jerry and Vicki Blaha of Panora, Iowa; a great-grandmother,  Dorothy Blaha of Havelock, Iowa; a sister, Abby Nicole Burke of the home; aunts and uncles; Wendy and Dave Krischel; Mikki Martin, and Gina and Trent Stilwell; cousins; Tyler Krischel, Morgan Krischel, Hunter Martin, Hannah Stilwell, Harley Stilwell and Wyatt Stilwell; a large extended family and many friends. 

Ally will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
