Herbert Randle Dillinger

Herbert Randle Dillinger, 67  of Harviell, Missouri passed away July 28, 2011 at his residence. He was born August 17, 1943 at Parma, Missouri to William Dillinger and Bertha Ethel Jackson Dillinger.  He is survived by daughter, Rita Morris and husband Roger of Naylor, Missouri and one Son Rondell Dillinger and wife Melanie of Doniphan, Missouri.Sisters, Betty Joyce Hayman and June Ann Stamps of Harviell, Missouri and Glenda  Louise Smith of Fairdealing. Mo. and Carolyn Faye Leonard of Naylor, Missouri.. Brothers, Bob Dillinger of Naylor, missouri and Charles Dillinger of Harviell. Grandchildren, Roger Wayne Morris, Rachel LeeAnn Morris, Derek Lee Dillinger, Dalton Matthew Dillinger and Magen Amelia Teegarden and Kelsey Lea Teegarden. Great Grandchild, Jayda LeeAnn Morris. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as Two brothers, Cecil Eugene Dillinger and William Gene Dillinger III and one half brother, Carl Freddy Dillinger. Visitation for Mr. Dillinger will be Saturday July 30, 2011 in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel from 5-8 p.m.. with services Sunday July 31, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Neelyville, Missouri. Burial in the Kinsey Cemetery. with Donnie Fowler officiating.

Geneva Garner

Geneva Garner, 73 of  Naylor, Missouri passed away July 29, 2011 in the Poplar Bluff  Regional Medical Center at Poplar bluff, Missouri. She was April 12, 1938 in Tennessee to James Crumley and Lizzie Barnickel Crumley.  On April 16, 1955 at Corinth, Mississippi she was married to Clyde Garner. He survives. Also surviving are,Her children, Clem Garner and wife Donna of POplar Bluff, missouri, Donnie Garner and wife Becky of Boonville, Mississippi, Tim Garner and wife Brenda of Naylor, Missouri and Shawn Garner of Naylor, Missouri.  One Daughter, Vicki Smith and husband Larry of Naylor, Missouri. Two sisters, Drucilla Isom of Harviell, Missouri and Betty Gilbert of Naylor, Missouri and one Brother, James “Ed” Crumley of Naylor, Missouri. fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren also survive. Geneva was preceded in death by her parents as well as one daughter Debbie McConnaughay.

Geneva enjoyed cooking, gardening and flowers as well as canning. She was a homemaker. visitation for Geneva will begin Sunday Morning July 31, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. in the Naylor Pentecostal Church with the funeral following at a 11:00 am. Burial will be in the Naylor Memorial Cemetery with Donnie Fowler Officiating.

MELVIN OVERTON

Melvin A. Overton, 58 of Fredericktown passed away at his residence July 13, 2011.  Visitation will be from 10-12 Saturday July 16, 2011 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar st.  Poplar Bluff.  A graveside funeral will be at 12:15 at City Cemetery, with full military rites with Rev. Bob Fry officiating. 

Mr. Overton was born August 12, 1952 in Poplar Bluff, to the late William Henry Overton and Alta Hornbeck Overton.  He is retired from the Army.  He loved working on the farm, fishing and playing with his grandchildren.  On July 4, 2003 he married Chris Howell in Willow Springs, TX, she survives.

Also surviving are his children; James Overton, Melvin Overton, Mellisa Jo Overton, and Mickey Overton, and a grand daughter, Jessica Overton, who lives in his home; two sisters, Virginia Crafford of Poplar Bluff and Helen Casteel of Poplar Bluff; two brothers; Ronald R. Hornbeck, Springtown, TX and John Knowles of Poplar Bluff; a special aunt; Paulene  Lade of Poplar Bluff, who raised him and numerous other grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by a brother; William Henry “Bill” Overton, Jr.

RANDALL HUPP

Visitation will be 6-8 PM Thurs July 14, 2011 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home 844 Cedar St.  Poplar Bluff.  Funeral will be 10 AM Friday in funeral home chapel with Rev. Timothy Freeman officiating.  Burial will be at Bay Springs Cemetery.

Randall Alan Hupp, 55, of Poplar Bluff passed away July 10, 2011 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.  He was a resident of Poplar Bluff since 1974.  Randall was born Feb. 27, 1956 in Corona,  California.  He had formerly lived in Jefferson City, MO

He was a line manufacturing technician at Briggs and Stratton.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching NASCAR races.  On August 20, 1977 he married Anita Whitmer-Hupp in Poplar Bluff and she survives.  Also surviving are his children; Amber Young and Stephen Young of Poplar Bluff, Ashley Amaro and husband Jason of Fairdealing; his father Elzie Lee Hupp of Fairdealing, mother; Ruth Ann Hupp of Poplar Bluff; a sister Mary Sue Davis and husband George of Poplar Bluff; a brother; Delbert L. Hupp and wife Barb of Poplar Bluff; and grandchildren; Hayden Young, Sierra Amaro, Emiellia “Mia” Amaro

RAYMOND DAVIS

Raymond Davis, 86 of Poplar Bluff, went to be with his Saviour July 10, 2011 in Jackson, TN  Visitation will be from 10AM-12PM Wed. July 13, 2011 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home 844 Cedar St.  Poplar Bluff.  Funeral will be held at 1:30 PM with Rev. Ralph Mayes officiating.  Burial will be in City Cemetery.

Raymond was born Sept. 20, 1924 in Parma, MO to the late Hanes Davis and Zelphia Taylor-Davis.  He had lived in Poplar Bluff since 1960 

He was a member of Third Baptist Church; where he served as deacon, Sunday School teacher and Sunday school superintendent.  He was a veteran of the US Army during WWII.  He had worked in factories and had retired from Southern Missouri Savings and Loan after 37 yrs.

On Dec. 22, 1942  he married Edith May Gillihan-Davis in Poplar Bluff and she survives.  Also surviving is a daughter Roberta “Bobbie” Leonard and husband Jim from Jackson, TN; grandchild; Jamie Lee Leonard-Mobley and husband Joshua of Jackson, TN

He was preceaded in death by a sister; Lilybeth Lawrence, a brother; Russell Davis; and a great-granddaughter; Morgan Mobley

JEANNETTE EDWARDS

Jeannette Edwards, 72, of Poplar Bluff went to her Heavenly home July 8, 2011 at her residence in Poplar Bluff.  Visitation will begin at 10AM Monday July 11, 2011 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar St.  Poplar Bluff.  Funeral will begin at noon with the Rev. Marshall Link officiating.  Burial will be at City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.

Mrs. Edwards was born Feb. 25, 1939 in Oregon, to the late Willie Perry and Phoebe Sisney-Perry.  She has lived in Poplar Bluff since 1950.  She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church near Williamsville, Mo.  She retired from family services office in Poplar Bluff, in 1984.  She enjoyed crafts, her grandchildren, playing the piano and all other church activities, and being a pastors wife; of which they pastored 12 churches, the present one being Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

On Nov. 2, 1961 she married Robert Edwards in Butler County and he survives. 

Also surviving are two sons: David P. Edwards and wife Gail of Poplar Bluff; who is pastor of Duck Creek Baptist Church in Puxico; and Dennis W. Edwards and wife Lisa of Poplar Bluff.  A sister; Katie Doyle of Poplar Bluff; four grandchildren; Jessica Edwards and companion Aaron Selsor of Poplar Bluff, Wesley and Nichole Edwards of Columbia; Morgan Edwards of Poplar Bluff and Kevin Edwards of Poplar Bluff.

Danny L. “Bussy” Brooks

Danny Lee “Bussy” Brooks, of Fairdealing, Missouri passed away July 7, 2011 at his residence. He was born February 14, 1954 at Neelyville, Missouri to Claude Brooks and Rody  May Cassinger Brooks.  On  December 28, 1975 at Harviell, Missouri he was married to Diane Pennington. She survives.  Also surviving are Two Daughters, Carrie Brooks of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and Amanda Tippen and husband Jason of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. His Father and Step Mother, Claude and Faye Brooks of Colfax, Louisiana. Sisters, Dianne Francisco of Wappapello, Missouri and Donna Caldwell of Wappapello, Missouri. One Brother, Kenneth Brooks and wife Vicky of Greenville, Missouri.  two Granddaughters, Kaylee Daniele Tippen and Gracie Leann Krubsack.   He was preceded in death by his mother, Rody Mae Cassinger Brooks and one Brother, Gary Brooks.He had worked for Isom Trucking of Neelyville as a truck driver for many years. He enjoyed Fishing and his granddaughters as his family.

Visitation for Mr. Brooks will Saturday July 9, 2011 starting at 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. with a graveside service starting at 1:30 p.m. at the Cochran Cemetery, with Donnie Fowler Officiating.

Terry Pruitt

Terry Douglas Pruitt, of Poplar Bluff, met the Lord Thursday, July 7, 2011 at the age of 59. Visitation will be at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Palace of Praise, Poplar Bluff.  Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Palace of Praise.  Bishop Kent Miller and Rev. Randy West will officiate.  Burial will be in the New Oak Hill Cemetery. 

Mr. Pruitt was born July 12, 1951 in Bandon, Oregon.  He lived most of his life in Butler County.  A member and elder at the Palace of Praise in Poplar Bluff, he started the cancer support program at the church.  Mr. Pruitt served in the United States Army in Vietnam.  He was a truck driver and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

On August 14, 1971 he married Veronica (McNew) Pruitt in Poplar Bluff.  She survives.  Also surviving are his children, daughter;  Melissa Lovette and husband, Kevin, son; Kevin Pruitt and wife Tiffany, daughter; Sara Pruitt and Victor Murray, all of Poplar Bluff; his mother, Gladys (Bloomer) Pruitt of Poplar Bluff; one brother, Tom Pruitt of Springfield, Mo.; 7 grandchildren; Mikayla, Hannah, Aliya Lovette, Dylan, Blane, Jordan and Kadeence Pruitt.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Pruitt and two brothers, Rodger Pruitt and Donnie Pruitt.

ONIE PEARL ALLEN

Onie Pearl Allen, 82, of Poplar Bluff passed away, July 7, 2011 at The Manor in Poplar Bluff.  Visitation will begin at noon Saturday July 9, 2011 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff, 844 Cedar St.  Funeral service will follow at 2PM Saturday in funeral home chapel.  Burial will be in Twidwell Cemetery in Wayne County.

Mrs. Allen was born August 6, 1928 in Dunklin County, MO , to the late Clem Mason and Dottie Ennis Mason. She was a resident of Butler County since 1993.  She had formerly lived in St. Louis, MO  She was married June 7, 1952, In Arkansas to Floyd Cleo Allen He preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 1996.  Mrs Allen was of the Pentecostal faith.  She enjoyed shopping, loved riding in the car, and watching her soaps. 

She is survived by her children; Jerry Allen of High Ridge, MO  and Janie Batson of Poplar Bluff.  Sisters Salley Sandy, Mayer, AZ and Martha Skaggs of Mayer, AZ; brothers; Jake Mason of Cotter, AK and Wayne Mason of Danville, IL and two grandchildren and 3 step grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by sisters; Alice, Charlotte, Bonnie, and Dott and brothers; JV, Curtis and Paul
