Brandon Groves

Brandon Carl Neal Groves, 29 of Williamsville passed away Tuesday, August 30. 2011, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.  Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3 at the Cornerstone Tabernacle Church, Poplar Bluff, Mo., followed by the funeral service at 1 p.m.  Pastor Bryan Parkey will officiate and burial in the Military Crossing Cemetery, in Wayne County.

Mr. Groves was born November 4, 1981 in Poplar Bluff, Mo. to parents Gary and Emma (Hillis) Groves.  He was a concrete construction worker, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and being with his children.  He had formerly lived in Eldon, Mo. and Springfield, Mo.  He attended Cornerstone Tabernacle Church in Poplar Bluff. 

He is survived by his parents, Gary and Emma Groves of Williamsville, his children, Legend Neal Groves of the home, Tucker Groves  and Rilie Groves of Eldon, Mo.  Also surviving  one brother, James Cluckey,  of Williamsville a niece, Makaila Thornburgh and nephews, Brett and Brennen Cluckey.

Brandon is preceded in death by his grandparents Neal and Altamae Groves and Carl and Edith Hillis.

Sharon Kay(Somers)Scott

Sharon Kay(Somers) Scott  passed away Sunday, August 28, 2011 at her residence.  She was 63.  Visitation for Ms. Scott will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar, Poplar Bluff, Mo.  A graveside service  and burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Williams Cemetery, Clay County, Corning, Ark., with Ron Fowler officiating.

Ms. Scott was born June 23, 1948 at Poplar Bluff, Mo. She had worked as a machinist and medical transport driver,  she enjoyed reading books. She had formerly lived at Granite City, Illinois.

Surviving are sons, James Sims and wife, Tammy of Pontoon Beach, Ill. and Shawn W. Herman of Popar Bluff, Missouri; one sister Diane Somers and one brother, Billy Lee Somers; four grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Katherine Hope Pickett.

Mitchell Anton Hribovsek

Mitchell Anton Hribovsek 64, of Naylor, Missouri, died Friday August 26, 2011 at his home. Mitchell was born October 4, 1946 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He lived in the Naylor, Neelyville area all of his life.He was a retired farmer who enjoyed spending time  with family  and friends and going to the river. Mitchell served in the US Army from 1968-1972 and was stationed in Germany.

On May 17, 1978, He was married to Patty Jo Morris in Oxly, Missouri, she survives. Other survivors include daughters, Marla Jo Hribovsek of the home, Selena Jo Jaco and husband, Steve and grandson Schyelar of Poplar Bluff, Missouri one son Curtis Bach  and wife Joyce o f  Malvern, Arkansas. Sisters Jenny  Blackman and Rick of Neelyville, Missouri Wanda Hill of  Poplar Bluff and Annie  Williams and John of  Williamsville, Mo. and one uncle, Edward Pirc of Neelyville, and several nieces and nephews and many close friends. Mitchell was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Josephine Hribovsek. Visitation will be Sunday August 28, 2011 starting at 6:00 p.m. in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel of Neelyville, Missouri. With Funeral Monday Morning at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel in Neelyville, Mo. Burial will be in the Memorial Gardens in Poplar Bluff with Donnie Fowler officiating.

Amy Kay Gray

Amy Kay Gray, 23 of  St.Louis, passed away August 14,2011 at her residence in St.Louis, Missouri. She was born December 9, 1987 in St.Louis, Missouri to Glenn Gray and Vicky Clifton Gray. They survive.  Also surviving are one son  Logan Lee Cordray of Troy, Missouri and her Grandmother, Eldora Clifton of Doniphan, Missouri. Eight aunts and four uncles also survive.  She enjoyed Playing tennis and her computers.  Visitation for Amy will be Friday August 19, 2011 in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel at Neelyvillle, Missouri starting at 11:00 a.m with the funeral following at 1:00 p.m,. in the Chapel. Burial will be in the Berger Cemetery near Oglesville. Donnie Fowler  Officiating.

Nadine Mangam

Nadine Mangam passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at The Manor Nursing Home, at the age of 77.  Visitation will be held at 6 p.m., Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar Street, Poplar Bluff, Mo.  No Funeral Services will be held. 

Ms. Mangam was born November 12, 1933 at Neelyville, Mo. to the late Tom and Ruth (Hall) Conley.  She had formerly lived in Phoenix, Arizona, but had lived in Butler County for the last 17 years.  She enjoyed quilting and sewing.  Ms. Mangam was a member of New Home General Baptist Church. 

Survivors include her sons, Steven Anthony Mangam of Poplar Bluff, Michael Owen Mangam of Senath, Mo., and William D. Mangam of Poplar Bluff; four grandchildren; Thomas Magam, Katrina Mangam, Dustin Mangam, and Daniel Mangam and one sister Alice Stein of  Poplar Bluff.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband William Marvin.

Henry Alvin Cox

Henry Alvin Cox, 89 of Naylor, Missouri passed away August 14, 2011 in the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He was born July 26, 1922 at Mt. Home, Arkansas, to the late John Francis Cox and Zora Mandary Sinor Cox. On May 21, 1943 at Paragould, Arkansas.  He was married to Frances Evelyn Barnett. She preceded him in death on March 13, 1990. He is survived by two children, Larry Ray and wife Linda Cox of Mulkeytown, Ill. and Deloris and husband Jerry Price of Success, Arkansas. Five grandchildren, Matt and wife Jenny Cox, Kenny Price and wife Cindy and Gretchen Yates. Five great grandchildren, Alex Price, Felicia Yates, William Yates , Zaylee Cox and Ava Cox.  Three Sisters; Frances Haney, Dorothy Huckabee and Lillie Cato. and three brothers; Burley Cox , Crawford Cox and Johnny Cox.  He was preceded in death by his parents . wife and three sisters Janelle Miller, Annabelle Creviston and Tilda Foster as well as five brothers; Williford Cox, Cleve Cox. Woodrow Cox, Riley Cox and Bennie Cox. Mr Cox was a farmer and enjoyed his mules, Cattle and Goats. Visitation will be Wed. August 17, 2011 in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial  Chapel starting at 1:00 p.m. with the funeral following at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Burial will be in the Arnold Cemetery near Fairdealing, Missouri. Gretchen Yates will officiate.

Maxine L. LeCroy

Maxine L. LeCroy, 71 of  Naylor, Missouri passed away August 12, 2011 in St.Louis, Missouri. She was born May 25, 1940 in Qulin, Missouri to Rawleigh and Mamie Parks Mathis. On April 27, 1973 at Cahokia, Illinois she was married to Jess LeCroy. He survives. Also surviving are Nieta Howdeshell  of Naylor , Mo.,  Tim Blakeney of Batesville, Arkansas, Keith LeCroy of Neelyville, Mo., Timmy LeCroy of  O’Fallon, Missouri, and Susie Stephens of Bernie, Missouri. Sister, Donna McDougal of  Fisk, Missouri and Two Brothers Larry Mathis of Nashville, Tennessee and Terry Mathis of Fisk, Missouri also survive. Twelve Grandchildren and 14 great Grandchildren survive also. She was preceded in death by her parents as well as one sister Doris Radford. She was a member of the Doniphan Church of Christ and had taught Sunday School Classes, vacation Bible School, and preparing Sunday Dinners at the church and helping family in need. She was a homemaker and had worked in the business with her husband Jess at Maytag Home appliance center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. and she enjoyed gardening, quilting, her grandchildren and her dog Bozo.

Visitation will be Monday night beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Fowler-Sullivan memorial Chapel in Neelyville, Mo. with the funeral Tuesday morning at 11:00 a.m. with burial in the Ash Hill Cemetery near Fisk. Steve Sanders will officiate.

ALEXANDER CHRISTIAN METZING

Alexander Christian Metzing, 18, of Poplar Bluff died Sunday August 14, 2011 in Butler County.  Visitation will be 6PM Wednesday August 17 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home 844 Cedar Street, Poplar Bluff.  Funeral will be 10AM Thursday at Pilgrims Rest Church on Hwy 160 In Fairdealing.  Rev. Ron Payne and Rev.Warner Allen officiating.  Burial will be in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery.

Alexander Christian Metzing was born December 26, 1992 to William and Mary Metzing, in Poplar Bluff.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, swimming, camping, playing pool and joking around.  He was a member of Pilgrims Rest Church at Fairdealing. 

 He is survived by his parents; William and Mary “Baldwin” Metzing, of Fairdealing; his fiance; Josie Johnson of Fairdealing; grandparents; Richie and Brenda Peavy of Poplar Bluff, Sue Metzing, of Poplar Bluff; and Dan and Ann Baldwin of Wrangell Alaska.  Sisters; Catrina Marie Metzing and Michelle Rose Metzing both of Fairdealing; brothers; William Martin Metzing, and Jonny Sparks both of Poplar Bluff. 

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Martin Michael “Marty” Metzing June 12, 2011.

Sandra “Sandy” Garrett Arrington

Sandra “Sandy” Garrett Arrington, 66 of Neelyville, Missouri, passed away at her residence August 9, 2011. She was born February 3, 1945 to the late  Cleo and Ruby “Gamblin” Garrett at Naylor, Missouri.  On September 3, 1977 at Naylor, Missouri Sandy was married to Jim Arrington. He survives.  Also surviving; one son, Josh Arrington of Neelyville, Missouri; two Daughters, Shannon Davis and husband Steve, of Neelyville, Missouri and Holly Dobbins and husband Justin, also of Neelyville, Missouri. She is also survived by three brothers, Jerry Garrett of  Fairdealing,  Missouri, Bob Garrett of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and Branson Garrett of Naylor, Missouri. Grandchildren Zane, MaKenzi and  Brock Davis, Delayni, Reese, Maddux Dobbins.

Sandy was a member of the Palace of Praise Church of Poplar Bluff. She had served on the Naylor/ Neelyville Ambulance Board as secretary and president of the Eaton Cemetery. She also served as a nurse at Hillview School, as well as Sunday school teacher and helped in the nursery at the Palace of Praise Church. She enjoyed helping in the Neelyville Community, She retired from nursing to take care of her children and grandchildren, whom she enjoyed.  Visitation for Mrs. Arrington will be August 11, 2011 at the Palace of Praise Church in Poplar Bluff  from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m.. Services will be Friday August 12, 2011 starting at 11:00 a.m. at the Church. Bishop Kent Miller will be officiating with burial in the Eaton Cemetery at Naylor, Missouri following services. Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel of Neelyville in Charge of arrangements.

Danielle Dye

Danielle Latreace Dye was born sleeping Sunday, August 7, 2011 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. 

She is survived by her parents, Johnny Junior Reed and Erica Jean Dye Harley, both of Poplar Bluff, Mo. ; four sisters, Monica Dye, Meiona Worley, McKiyah Dye and Jerica Harley; and two brothers, Marshawn Dye and Deamario Thomas.

A private family visitation held Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff.  Burial in the Union Mennonite Cemetery, Odon, Indiana.
