Lola Ethel Wiley

Lola Ethel Wiley, 94 of Fairdealing, Missouri died at her residence at 5:45 p.m. on September 29, 2011. She was born on January 16, 1917 at Piedmont, Missouri. She was a homemaker and a member of the Naylor Pentecostal Church. She loved her family, church and enjoyed her roses. On November 1, 1939 she married Earl Newton Wiley at Piedmont, Missouri. He preceded her in death on January 28, 1980.

She was survived by two sons: Carl Edwin Wiley and wife Vianna Blunt Wiley of  Naylor, Missouri and  Ronnie Wiley and wife Connie Fay Zitnak Wiley of Fairdealing, Missouri. There are two granddaughters; Carla D. Wiley of Naylor, Mo. and Ronda Renee Thomas and husband, Ralph Pleas Thomas of Fairdealing and one great grandson Shiloh Pleas Thomas of Fairdealing. She was preceded  in death by her parents, William Henry Leach and Sara Elisabeth Marler Leach, four sisters; Mary Herr, Anna Garrett, Alph Eaton, Opal Howard, and three brothers, William Kelly Warren, Robert Warren and Charles Leach.

Visitation for Mrs. Wiley will be October 2, 2011 in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel with the funeral Monday October 3, 2011 starting at 1:00 p.m. with the burial in the roberts Cemetery. Donnie Fowler will officiating

Joseph Clarence “J.C.” Fowler

Joseph Clarence “J.C.” Fowler, 77, of Neelyville, Mo. passed away at his residence September 28, 2011. He was born March 3, 1934 at Fairdealing, Missouri to the Late Homer Fowler and Myrtle Rook Fowler.   He is survived by four children; Sabrina Fowler of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Ronda Phillips of  Neelyville, Mo., Roger Fowler of Lakeland, Florida, and Lori Turner of Neelyville, Mo.. Two sisters Golda Drane of Indiana and Louise Woolard of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and Two brothers; Doug Fowler of Corning, Arkansas and Curt Fowler of Neelyville, Mo. also survive.  His grandchildren, Angel Seipp and Tyler Turner and Isaac Seipp. Wanda Waldrip Fowler which has remained his companion. Special care givers Sheri Gilmore , Sonya Turner and Chris Resinger. J.C. was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Charles Fowler and his grandparents James and Sarah Fowler.  He enjoyed fishing, mechanic work and helping friends and neighbors. He been self employed  Television Repairman. visitation for J.C. will be Sunday October 2, 2011 at the Fowler-Sullivan memorial Chapel in Neelyville, Missouri starting at 12:00 P.M. with funeral services following at 2:00 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in the Gum Cemetery near Naylor, Mo. Donnie Fowler and Dennis Fowler will be officiating.

George Standeford

George Robert Standefordof Poplar Bluff, Mo. passed away Wednesday September 28, 2011 at the age of 80. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30. 2011 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home.   Burial in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Ellsinore, Mo. with Randy Robinson officiating.

Mr. Standeford was born January 20, 1931 to parents Charles and Gladys (Holmes) Standeford in Hume, Mo.  He had formerly lived in Vaneta Oregon and Dexter, Mo. and worked as a clerk for a hardware store.  He loved St. Louis Cardinal Baseball.

On May 8, 1954 he was united in marriage to Ora Lee (Dunlap) Standeford in Eugene, Oregon.  She preceded him in death on January 24, 2011.

His survivors include children, Robin Robinson and husband Randy of Dexter, Sherry Vance, Tony Standeford, Robert Standeford, Gary Standeford all of Poplar Bluff, Tim Standeford, Veneta Ore., Merlin Standeford, Veneta, Ore.; brothers Charles Standeford and Fred Standeford both of Veneta Oregon; grandchildren Mindy Thurlkill, James Robinson, Tony Standeford, Coleena Standeford, Austin Standeford, Joshua Standeford, Chris Standeford, Chasy Standeford, Cory Standeford, Andrew Standeford, Melissa Unrein, Lindsey Vance, Stephanie Davis, and Kelsey Vance.   Twelve great-grandchildren also survive.

Mr. Standeford is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Gladys Standeford, one son Rodney Standeford and sister Ruby Hodgin.

Jeffrey Allen Harp

Jeffrey Allen Harp, 26 of Fairdealing, Missouri passed away September 25, 2011 at Poplar Bluff,  Missouri. He was born August 7, 1985 in Poplar bluff, Missouri. He is survived by two children, Kaedyn Harp of Doniphan, Missouri and Kyle Harp of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, as well as his parents Daniel and Doris Harp of Advance, Mo. and Tammy and Mark Spease of Fairdealing, Mo.. He is also survived by two sisters Shannon Gaither  and Shelley Hess  both of Advance, Mo.. Four Brothers, Heath Harp, Adam Harp, Andrew Harp and James West all of Doinphan, Missouri. His grandparents; Willa  Dean Harp on Doniphan, Mo. and Bob and Sandy McCollumn of Doniphan, Mo . Jeffrey was a life long resident of Ripley County. He had worked for Woolards Landscaping as a landscaper and He loved playing basketball. and being with his children. Visitation for Jeffrey will Thursday night September 29, 2011 starting at 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m.. Funeral will be Friday September 30, 2011 starting at 10:00 a.m. in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel in Neelyville, Missouri. Burial will be in the Poyner Cemetery following services. Rev. Charles Harp will be officiating.

Dorothy Bea Green

Dorothy Mae Green 84, formerly of Naylor, passed away September 25, 2011 in the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center at Poplar bluff, Mo.. She was born August 28, 1927 to the late Sina Cox and Sarah Mae Hawkins Cox. On August 28, 1943 at Corning, Arkansas she was married to Howard Green. He survives. also surviving, one son Carl Green of Jackson, Mo. Her Grandchild, Heather Schoolfield of Fruitland, Mo and great grandchildren, Meagan Pulliam and Madison Schoolfield.

Dorothy was a member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church Of Oxly, Mo. She enjoyed yard work, working around the house and church work. She had worked at Vitronic for over 20 years.  Visitation for Dorothy will be Wednesday September 28, 2011 starting at 5:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. with the Funeral Thursday September 29, 2011 starting at 1:00 p.m. in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel at Neelyville, Mo. Burial will be in the Naylor Memorial Cemetery following services. Elder Troy Martin will officiate.

Carl Franklin Hinkle

Carl Franklin Hinkle, 69 , Missouri, passed away September 24, 2011 at his residence in Naylor. He was born May 7 1942 at Neelyville, Missouri to the late James D. Hinkle and Ivory Harpole Hinkle Messinger.  On  March 10, 1962 at Rockford , Ill. he was married Elizabeth Jane  Niswonger, she survives.  Also survived by:. His children: David Hinkle and wife Anita of Doniphan, Mo., Penny Nesmith and husband Bradley of Santa Clarita, California,  Carla Hinkle  of Doniphan, Mo ,  and Annette White and husband Joshua of Doniphan, Mo. . Sisters surviving are Effie M. (Polly) Simmons and husband Robert of Rockford, Ill.,Tilda A. Meadors and husband Bill of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Margarat C. (Caroline) Dusza and husband Steve of Doniphan, Mo. , Essie Pennington of Grandin, Mo. and Mary Poe of Rockford, Ill. Brothers: James Alvin Hinkle and wife Opal Rockford, Ill., John D. Hinkle and wife Pat of Arizona, Berry W. (Wayne) Hinkle of  Poplar Bluff, Mo. James Leon Hinkle and wife Linda of  Doniphan, Mo. Robert D.(Dale) Hinkle wife Irene of Doniphan. Mo.. Fifteen grandchildren and Seven Great Grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by one sister Bessie and one brother Walter Hinkle.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting,  and his Grandchildren, He also enjoyed Auto mechanic work. He was a Member of the West Point United Pentecostal Church in Doniphan, Mo. He had worked as a Cement contractor. Visitation for Mr. Hinkle will be Tuesday September 27, 2011 starting at 12:00 p.m with services at 1:00 P.M.. in the West Point Church. Burial Will follow in the Pope Chapel Cemetery near Doniphan.  Rev Charles Carr will officiate with Rev. Chuck Carr and Rev. Steve Niswonger assisting.

Violet P. Duguran

Violet P. Duguran, 74 , of Poplar Bluff, Missouri  passed away in the Landmark Hospital at Cape Girardeau, Mo. September 22, 2011. She was born February 15, 1937 at Hilo, Hawaii to the late Victor Pasco and Cecelia Binian Pasco. On August 1954 at Kona, Hawaii she was married to George Duguran.   She is survived by her children, Gloria Styer of Kauai, Hawaii, Georgina Stephens , Gregory Duguran and Gary duguran as well Gabriel Duguran , Grace Duguran, and Vielet M. Duguran all of Kona, Hawaii. Gale Duguran of Poplar BLuff, Missouri and Verna Duguran of Waimea,  Hawaii. 5 sisters: Clara Collingwood of Florida, Delores Sarme of Lanai HI, Felomina Asuncion of Oahu HI, Wanda Gionson of Oahu HI and Florentina Aninon of Hilo HI.  4 brothers: Geaorge Pasco of Honolulu HI, Rubin Reyes of Hilo HI, Tony Pasco of Kona HI and John Reyes of Kona HI. 25 Grandchildren and 25 Great-Grandchildren also survive. She was a  member of the Morgan Corner Pentecostal Church and enjoyed fishing, arts and crafts, and making jewelry. Visitation will be held tonight (September 26, 2011) here at the Neelyville Chapel.

Mercedes Currie

Mercedes Currie passed away September 25, 2011 at  Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.   Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011,  followed by funeral services at 1 p.m.  at  Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff.  Burial in Morocco Cemetery with Rev. Ivory Dean officiating.

Mercedes “Dee” Currie was born on April 26, 1945, to Flora Mae Currie and William Louis Currie, in Chicago, Ill.

Dee graduated from Poplar Bluff High School.  She then went on to pursue a career in nursing in East St. Louis, Ill in 1980.  After a few years she moved back to Poplar Bluff, Mo. and graduated from nursing school in 1989.  She continued her career at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, and later retired in 2007.

Dee enjoyed playing bingo, cards and quilting.  She also enjoyed being around family, friends and especially sitting around with Noni Currie and eating ox tail soup and cornbread.

Mercedes Currie accepted Jesus Christ at an early age at New Home Missionary Baptist Church, under Rev. Otis Hawes Sr. in Providence. 

She was preceded in death by her father, William Louis Currie and  2 sisters, Mary and Martha Currie. 

Survivors include her mother, Flora Mae Currie and her children, Mark (Michelle)Currie of Houston, Tx., Andre (Evelyn) Currie of Aberdeen, MD., Monique (Thomas) Currie-Jennings of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Brian (Lindsay) Thornton of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 3 sisters Ella Mae Gibson, Delores (Roosevelt) Patterson and Sharon Currie all of Chicago, Ill.; 5 brothers. Cleveland ( Marie) Currie of East Stroudsburg, Pa., William Currie of San Jose, Ca., Jonathan (Dorothy R.I.P.) Currie of Kankaee, Ill., Colie (Carla) Currie of Jackson, Tn, and Walter ( Noni) Currie of Poplar Bluff; 14 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, and a very special friend/daughter Tiffanie Brown.

David William Couch

David William Couch, 85 of Fairdealing, Mo. passed away August 28, 2011 in the Poplar Bluff Regional medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.  He was born June 23, 1926 at Oxly, Missouri to the Late Herman Preston Couch and Maggie Jane Ray Couch. On August 15, 1946 at St.Louis, mo. he was married to Margaret Osborn. She survives. Also surviving daughter Bonnie Couch of Wappeallo, Mo. , one son  Howard Couch of Cumming, Georgia. two sisters, Opal Collins of Doniphan, Mo. and Millie Henkenis of Fairdealing, Mo., . He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Gregory, Chris, David .  He was preceded in death by his parents as well as 2 sisters Wanda and Minnie and one brother James.

David loved music, writing poetry, Dancing and fixing guitars. He enjoyed bluegrass music.  He was a member of the Naylor Church of God. Visitation will be Thursday September 1, 2011 starting at 11:00 am with the funeral services beginning at 12:00 p.m..in the Fowler-Sullivan memorial Chapel in Neelyville, Missouri. Burial will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Doniphan, Mo.  Bro Bob Featherston will officiate.

David Douglas Gardner

David Douglas Gardner 50, of Neelyville, Missouri passed away August 26, 2011 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He was born November 14, 1960 in Corning Arkansas to Paul Gardner and the late  Holmarie Tedford Gardner.  On June 1, 1991 at Neelyville, Missouri he was married to Martha Aline Barnes. She preceded him in death on June 18, 2006.  David is survived by His father Paul Gardner as well as three brothers, Roger Gardener of Neelyville, Mo., Stanley Gardner of Neelyville, Mo. and Hoyt Gardner of Columbia, Tennessee. One Sister also survives Mary Lou Harp of Hickory, Ky..

David enjoyed fishing, working on lawn mowers and gardening. Visitation will be August 30, 2011 starting at 12:00 p.m. with the funeral service following beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel at Neelyville, Missouri. .Burial will be in the Naylor Memorial Cemetery in Naylor, Missouri .
