Keith O’Neal Turner

Keith O’Neal Turner, 43, of  Harvielll, Missouri, passed away March 21, 2012.  He was born January 28, 1969, at Poplar Bluff, Missouri to McDowell Turner and Shelby Wertenberger Turner of  Neelyville, Missouri.  Both survive.

On June 18 2010, at Poplar Bluff, Mo, he was married Kathy Callow.  She survives.

Also surviving  three children, Brandon Callow and wife, Kim of Piedmont, Joshua Turner of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and Cassie Strohmeyer and husband, Cory of Naylor, Missouri.  His parents McDowell Turner and step mother, Ronda of Neelyville , Mo and his mother, Shelby Wertenberger Turner of Neelyville, Missouri;  sisters, Janet Arnold and husband, Terry of Fairdealing, Mo., Susan Wilkerson and husband, Rick of Harviell, Mo., his identical twin brother, Kenneth Turner of Neelyville, Mo.  He is also survived by three grandchildren, Aden Callow, Trystan Strohmeyer and Kyler Strohmeyer.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Cecil and Christine Turner and Daniel and  Birdie Wertenberger.

Keith was a truck driver and worked for Eldridge Trash Service.   He enjoyed fishing, hunting, Nascar Racing, cooking, gardening and his grandchildren.

Visitation for Keith will start at 1:00 p.m. Sunday March 25, 2012,  in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel, with the funeral starting at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel at Neelyville. Burial in Fairdealing Cemetery, with  Donnie Fowler Officiating.

Shelia Y. Martindale, 62, of Poplar Bluff died Thursday, March 22, 2012, at her residence.  A graveside service will be held at 3PM Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Poplar Bluff City Cemetery, with Earl Dunbar officiating. Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home of Poplar Bluff, Mo. in charge of arrangements.

Sheila was born October 9,1949 in Pascola, MO  and had lived in Poplar Bluff 17 years.  She had formerly lived in Heavener, Oklahoma and was of the Baptist faith. 

She worked in public service for nearly 40 years.  Most recently she worked as a server at China Garden in Poplar Bluff, since 1999. 

She enjoyed her family and grandchildren, cooking, taking care of and feeding birds outside, flower gardening and shopping. 

Surviving are her children, Ronald D. Downs Jr. and wife, Cindy and William Joseph Downs and wife, Niki all of Wichita, Kansas; three sisters, Flora Mae Foster of Pascola, Helen D. Dunbar of Poplar Bluff and Maritta Joyce Jackson of Poteau, Oklahoma; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Terry Dwaine Lunsford

Terry Dwaine Lunsford, 61, of Naylor, Mo. , departed this life on March 20, 2012 in the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center at Poplar Bluff, Missouri.  He was born August 24, 1950 at Jonesboro, Arkansas to the late George W. Lunsford and Etha Cantor Lunsford.

On August 4, 1973, at Naylor, Missouri, he was married to Linda Jo Kenser. She survives.

Also surviving two sons, Joel Lunsford and wife, Julie of Naylor, Missouri and Christopher and wife, Brandi of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; six sisters, Jeanie Richardson of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Betty Minton Of Little Rock, Arkansas, Georgia Carter of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Alice Guy of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Hazel Scarborough of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Jessica Pinchback of Jonesboro, Arkansas; two brothers, Ralph Lunsford and Richard Lunsford also survive.  He is also survived by four grandchildren, Bethany, Nathan, Landon, and Layne.

He was preceded in death by his parents as well as one brother, Randall Lunsford.

Terry had worked as a sales representative at Duckett Truck Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.  He was a member of Naylor City Counsel and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He attended the Naylor Church of Christ in Naylor, Missouri.

Visitation for Terry will be March 23, 2012 starting at 6:00 p.m., with the funeral March 24, 2012 starting at 1:00 p.m. in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel.  Burial will be in the Naylor Memorial Cemetery following services.  Steve Sanders will officiate.

Joe William “Hank” Casinger

Joe Williams “Hank” Casinger, 71, of Neelyville, Missouri passed away at his residence, March 18, 2012. He was born April 7, 1940 at Neelyville, Missouri, to the late Joe Casinger and Margret Carter Casinger.

On September 23, 1961 at Poplar Bluff, Missouri he was married to Mary McCain. She survives.

Also surviving are Two sons; Dwayne Casinger and wife Lorie of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and  Lonnie Casinger and wife Donna of  Corning, Arkansas.  One Daughter; Laurie Hinsa and Gerald Baily of Neelyville, Missouri. one sister, Bertha Beecher of Houston, Texas. six grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents as well as three sisters Ida Hancock, Rody Brooks, and Wanda McCain.

Hank was a life long resident of Neelyville, area where he worked  as a sawmiller,  he had attended the Naylor Pentecostal Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, mechanic,and baseball. He enjoyed Cardinal baseball.

Visitation for Mr. Casinger will start at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday with the funeral starting at 2:00 p.m. following the visitation in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel of Neelyville, Mo. . Burial will be in the Coon Island Cemetery with Donnie Fowler officiating.

Jesse Gilliland

Jesse Robert Gilliland, 88, passed away March 15, 2012, at the Missouri Veteran’s Home in Cape Girardeau, Mo.  Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Monday, followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m. at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff, with Ron Fowler officiating.  Burial with Military Honors will be in Mo. State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo.

The son of the late William J. and Allie Gilliland, he was born February 18, 1924, in Bertrand, Mo.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had worked as a self-employed carpenter.    

He is survived by three sons, Jim Gilliland of Doniphan, Mo., Dave Gilliland of Placerville, Calif., and Gene Gilliland of Sacramento, Calif.; one daughter, Cheryl Gillialand of Citrus Heights, Calif.; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; five brothers, Louis Philip Gilliland of Poplar Bluff, William Gilliland of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Lloyd Gilliland of Drain, Ore., Henry Gilliland of Mountain Home, Idaho, and John Gilliland of Lazear, Colo.; four sisters, Margaret Richmond of Poplar Bluff; Bea Fritts of Sutherlin, Ore., Allie Dannecker of Poplar Bluff and Hazel Watson of Poplar Bluff. 

He was also preceded in death by one son, Bobby Joe Gilliland.

Lola Mae Johnson McNeal

Lola Mae Johnson McNeal, 84 , of Neelyville, Mo. Passed away at her residence March 13, 2012. She was born February 18, 1928 at Alicia, Arkansas to the late John Westmorland and Hattie Ann Webb.

She was married to Cecil Johnson. He preceded her in death in 1978 then on march 4, 1990 at corning, Arkansas she was married to Louis  McNeal. He preceded her in death on March 23, 2008.

She is survived by four Sons; James Johnson and wife Debbie of Van Buran, Arkansas, Clifford Johnson of Imboden, Akransas Patrick  Johnson and wife Sarah of Bloomingdale, Georgia; and Kevin Johnson and Renee of Neelyville, Mo. Two Daughters, Janet Keatts and husband Harry of Osceola, Arkansas, and Brenda Haynes and husband Donald of Deming, New Mexico.  Also 31 grandchildren 13 great grand children also survive.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents as well as three brothers, George Hubert Johnson, Dwight Anthony Johnson and Eugene Johnson.

Mrs. McNeal enjoyed Quilting, Walking, embroidering, sewing and she loved animals. she was a member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church of Blytheville, Arkansas and Fellowship southern Baptist Church in Harviell, Mo.  She was a homemaker.

Services for Mrs. McNeal will be Sunday March 18, 2012 with visitation starting at 12:30 till service at 1:00 p.m. March 18, 2012. Burial will be in the Haynes Cemetery in Swifton, Arkansas. Pastor Tim Freeman will be officiating.

Leslie Charles St.Cin

Leslie Charles St.Cin, Sr 97, of  Neelyville, Missouri died Wednesday, March 14, 2012. He was  born on February 13, 1915, in Perkins, Missouri. the son of Charles David St.Cin Jr. and Vernia Pirtle St. Cin.

At a Young age, Leslie joined a Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) camp where he helped in building bridges and planting trees at the local parks providing beauty to the St.Louis area. He enjoyed playing baseball while there, where a scout recognized his potential in pitching. Although he never did play major league baseball, he remained a St.Louis Cardinal’s fan his entire life. He was married to Anna Marie Cassinger in 1941 and from that union was born their four children. He worked at American Steel several years and then for McCabe-Powers Body company from which he retired in 1980 after completing 28 years of service. After retiring, he moved back home to the Neelyville,  Missouri area where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his 4-wheeler, doing yard work and many other things.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother; two brothers Clarence and Ed St.Cin. and two sisters Elva St.Cin and Velva St.Cin.

He is survived by; his two daughters, Bonnie St.Cin Taylor and husband John and Patricia St.Cin Leonard and husband David both of Corning, Arkansas. and his two sons. Larry St. cin and wife Diana of Carterville, Ill. and Leslie Charles St.Cin, Jr. and wife Linda of Elkville, Ill.. Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation for Mr. St.Cin will be Saturday March 17, 2012 starting at 11:00 am with the funeral following at 12:00  pm in the Fowler-Sullivan memorial chapel in Neelyville, Missouri. Burial will be in the Coon Island Cemetery at Neelyville, Missouri. Rev Allen Leuter officiating.

George Eugene Worley

George Eugene Worley, 87, of Centralia, Missouri, passed away Friday, March 9, 2012 at Fulton Nursing and Rehab Center in Fulton, Missouri. He was born August 15, 1924, at Lone Hill, Mo. to the late Clarence Edward Worley and Agnes Tubb Worley.

On November 2, 1946, He was married to Wilma Josephine Davis at Corning, Arkansas. She survives.

Also surviving are three Sons, George Edward Worley of Fulton, Mo., Robert Wayne Worley of Columbia, Mo., and James Leland Worley of Long Lane, Mo.; two daughters, Wilma Lorene Worley Drexler of Orlando, Florida and Brenda Elaine Worley Waite of Cairo, Mo.; four sisters, Alma Hesselink of Sparta, Michigan, Mary Sue Bostic of Pollard, Ark. Darlene Smith of Poplar bluff, Mo.; and Charlene Collier of Neelyville, Missouri and three brothers, Joseph Worley of  Sparta, Michigan, Dennis Worley of Poplar Bluff, Mo. and Sammy Worley of Corning, Ark. Fifteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren also survive.

He was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Columbia, Missouri. He was uion carpenter and worked in both homea nd commerical construcction. He had dato retire from carpentry due to health reasons. He enjoued puzzles, singing gospel music and love animals and his carpentry work.

He was preceded in death by his father Clarence Edward Worley, his mother Agnes Tubb Worley and step mother Irene Fowler Worley and one brother, Edward Worley.

Visitation for George will begin at 6:00 p.m. March 12, 2012 in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel at Neelyville, Missouri with funeral services starting at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Burialwill be in the Cochran Cemetery. Pastor James Sample officiating.

Amelda Ruth (Helvey) Pennington, 91, of Harviell, passed away March 8,2012 at her residence.  Visitation will be 6-9 p.m., Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff.  Funeral services will be 2 p.m, Sunday, March 11, 2012 in  the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Larry Ward officiating.  Burial will be in Kinsey Cemetery, Harviell, Mo.

Mrs. Pennington was born March 29, 1920, in Poplar Bluff, Mo.  She was a member of Fagus General Baptist Church.  A homemaker, she enjoyed gardening, raising flowers, and quilting. 

She was preceded  in death by four husbands, Henry Virgil Armes, John Loury, Harvey Robinson, and Virgil Pennington.

She is survived by daughter, Norma Trout and husband, David of Piggott, Arkansas, Shirley Jackson and husband, Harold of Poplar Bluff, son Jerry Armes and wife, Vicki of Harviell and Gene Loury of Florida; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren

Also preceding her in death  are  children, Jesse Armes, Mary Camren; and stepson, Eddie Loury;  her parents, Willie  and Effie Helvey; sisters,  Mary Underwood, Ann Ellsworth, Gerldine Corbett, and brother William Helvey and 2 grandchildren.

Ralph Paul Ward, 73, of Poplar Bluff gently passed away with his family by his side on March 1, 2012 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.  He joined his beloved mother just 15 days after she went home to be with the Lord.  Visitation will begin at 5 p.m., Sunday March 4, 2012, at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home  in Poplar Bluff.  Funeral service will be 1p.m. Monday, March 5, 2012, with the Dr. Steve Proctor and Rex Darnell officiating. Burial in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.

Mr. Ward was born February 22, 1939 in Poplar Bluff, Mo., to the late Roy Ward and Valrie (Robertson) Ward.   He was a lifetime Butler County resident and of the Baptist Faith. 

He loved being with his family and was deeply devoted to his wife of 50 years and his three children.  He was a carpenter in home construction and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son Steven. 

On February 10, 1962 he married Vada “Richards” Ward in Poplar Bluff.  She survives.  Also surviving are daughter, Tammy Long and husband, Gary of Qulin; son, Steven Ward and wife, Teresa of Broseley; and daughter, Roxanne Chang and husband, Chris of Poplar Bluff; a brother, Arthur Leroy Ward of Poplar Bluff; four grandchildren; Christina Haynes, Crystal Haynes, Ciera Chang and  Brendan Chang;  four great-grandchildren, Katelynn, Makenzie, Chase, and Avery. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Ward on June 27, 1991; his mother, Valrie Ward on February 16, 2012; and his sister, Joyce Marie Ward.

The family joins Ralph in expressing thanks and gratitude to all that supported him through his illness.  Special thanks to Rex Darnell, Tammy and Gary Long, Richard Kimble( his nurse), Dr. Steve Proctor, David Myers and many family and friends who kept him in prayer.
