Claude Damewood

Claude Reeve Damewood, 80, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri passed away Thursday August 9, 2012 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Damewood was born May 24, 1932, in Mullens. West Virginia.  He formerly lived in Ellsinore, Mo., and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Poplar Bluff. 

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Korean Conflict.  He was awarded a Combat Medic Badge, U.N. Service Medal, two Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal and a Korean Service Medal. 

He had worked as a plastics engineer and enjoyed shooting guns, being with his children, reading, doing jobs around the house.

On July 7, 1956, he was married to Patricia Hall at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.  She survives.

Also surviving are his children, Samuel Damewood and wife, Gloria, of Alamogordo, N.M., Sheila Larson and husband, Dwight, of Minor Hill, Tenn., Nicholas Haskins of Poplar Bluff, Hannah Reasons and husband, Josh, of Poplar Bluff; two grandchildren, Sean Lyle and Ashley Hsie; and two great-grandchildren, Lucas and Lily Reasons.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Staff Sgt. Stacy Haskins; his parents, French Johnson Damewood and Josephine (Worthington) Damewood Williams; a sister, Sally Damewood; and three brothers, French Damewood II, James Damewood and Robert Damewood.  

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Sunday August 12, 2012 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar Street, Poplar Bluff, Mo. The funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday August 13, 2012 in the chapel with Josh Reasons, David Stewart and Cal Nations officiating.  Burial will full military honors will be in  Missouri  State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo.

Frankie Charles Lane

Frankie Charles Lane, 49, of Poplar Bluff passed away Wednesday August 1, 2012 at his residence. 

Mr. Lane was born June 17, 1963 in Dexter, Mo. to the late Ira John William Lane and Kathleen Louise Spangle.  He enjoyed fishing, working on cars and spending time with his family.  He was a lifetime resident of Butler County. 

Survivors include his daughters, Kathy Marie Benchira of Algeria, Jessica Charlene Lopez Lane and Sarah Lane Zirkle both of Poplar Bluff; four sisters, Rose Mary Lane of Arizona, Sherry Ann Arbuckle of Poplar Bluff, Lesia Ellen Mc Williams of Independence, Mo. and Anna Marie Ibrahim of Poplar Bluff; three brothers, Roy William Lane of Rolla Mo., Ira Dewayne Lane and Bobby Joe Lane both of Poplar Bluff; and five grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Thursday August 9, 2012 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar Street, Poplar Bluff, Mo., followed by the funeral service at 12 noon in the chapel.  Burial in the City Cemetery.

Elmer Von Evans

Elmer Von Evans, 91 of Naylor, Missouri passed away at his residence July 31, 2012. He was born March 9, 1921 at  Pageland South, Carolina to the late Richard Evans and Annie Laney Evans.

on July 3, 1941 at Phoenix City, Alabama he was married to Della Mae Feasel. She preceded him in death on August 18, 1997.

He survived by, three sons, Jerry Lynn Evans and Johnny Lee Evans both of Naylor, Mo. and Jeffery Allen Evans of Doniphan, Missouri. One daughter, Linda Gail Evans Tisdal and husband Buel of Naylor, Missouri., Three sisters Ruth Hatley, Bobbie Geason and Linda Fay Pope, One brother, Aaron Evans. His grandchildren, Sammy Hodge, Marsha McKuin, Shery Riley, Amanda Brainard, Tammy Latham, Felicia Wilkerson, Ed Tisdal and Doug Tisdal. Great Grandchildren, David McKuin, Laura Asher, Madison Brainard , Troy Hodge and Lavada Harpole.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Della, Parents as well as one daughter Glenda Caroline Latham and one son Jimmy Von Evans. three sisters  and five brothers.

Elmer retired form Catepillar Heavy Equitment Manifacturing in Peoria, Ill. He was a member of American Leagion at Naylor and V.F.W. at Doniphan, Missouri. He enjoyed gardening raising cattle , farming and driving tractors.

He had served in the United States Army during WWII.

Visitation for Mr Evans will be Thursday night August 2, 2012 at 6:oo p.m. with the funeral starting at 10:00 am August 3, 2012 in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel at Neelyville, Mo. Burial will be in the Evans Family Cemetery near Naylor, Mo. with Ron Fowler officiating.

Rodney Andrew “Andy” McGee

Rodney Andrew “Andy” McGee, 50, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away July 26, 2012 in the Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Missouri.He was born April 20, 1962 to the late Dickie Charles McGee and Barbara Ann Fountian McGee.

Andy is survived by two sons Bill J. McGee and Cabe L. McGee both of Naylor, Missouri, Sisters Judy Carol Mcgee of Blue Springs, Missouri and Anita Dawn Church and husband Bill of Fisk, Missouri. His Mother Barbara Ann McGee of Fisk, Missouri also survives.

He had worked as a truck driver and enjoyed fishing, hunting spending time with family and collecting arrowheads. He was a member of Elm Grove General Baptist Church of Naylor, Missouri.

Visitation for Andy will begin at 12:00 p.m. till service time at 1:00 p.m. August 1, 2012 in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel at Neelyville, Missouri. Burial will be in the Naylor Memorial Cemetery in Naylor, Missouri with Rev Dennis Bell officiating
