Ola Bowman

Ola Josephine (Eckman) Bowman, 88, beloved mother, grandma, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother went to be with the Lord on December 31, 2012 at River Mist Assisted Living Home in Poplar Bluff. 

Mrs. Bowman was born January 23, 1924 to the late Josepha E. Eckman and Ider Bell Campbell in Oregan County Missouri. 

She was united in marriage on January 16, 1958 to the late Corbett Bowman.  He preceded her in death on May 21, 1982.

She was a lifelong member of the Coon Island Pentecostal Church.  She enjoyed reading her Bible and seeing her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Jeanne Jones and husband, Roger of Moundsville, W. Va and Joanna Riggs and husband, Charles, of Ogelesville, Mo.; 11 grandchildren, Kevin Jones and wife, Dawn, Rhonda Cecil and husband, Eric, Lacey McNamara and husband, Jason, Gina Irwin, Denise Gladfelter, Kaye Wolverton and husband, Vernon Jr., David Wagner, Mark Sullivan, Ronnie Dugger and wife Rissie, Sandy Summers and husband, Tim, Michael Dugger and wife, Dawn; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild and many other relatives and friends whom she dearly loved.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Carol Sullivan, her parents, and five siblings.

Visitation will be at 6 p.m. Thursday January 3, 2013 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar Street, Poplar Bluff, Mo.  Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday January 4, 2013, in the chapel with Rev. Ed Plummer officiating.  Burial to follow in the Joplin-New Hope Cemetery near Ellsinore, Mo.

Jewel Rae (Judy) Baxter

Jewel Rae (Judy) Baxter, 86, of Jonesboro, Arkansas passed away December 28, 2012 in the NEA Baptist Hospital. She was born August 27, 1926 at Brownwood, Missouri to the late  Henry Ray Smith and Bessie Jewel Strange Smith.

On September 11, 1943 at Reno, Arkansas she was married to Carney R. Baxter. He survives.

Also surviving are two children, Rodney Alan Baxter and wife Cynthia of Houston, Texas and Ruth Baxter Meek and husband Richard of Jonesboro, Arkansas. One brother, Lowell Smith of Hoxie, Arkansas. Three grandchildren, Traecy, Todd, and Zak. Five great grandchildren, Tyan, Rachael, Claire, Kate and Tessa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as two sisters, Edna Lee Smith and Bernice Shaw; and one brother, Doyle Smith.

She enjoyed softball, Track, basketball and cheerleading in school. She was a member of the Friendship Assembly of God at Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Visitation for Mrs Baxter will be Wednesday January 2, 2013 starting at 11:00 a.m. with the funeral following at 1:00 p.m.. both in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel of Neelyville, Mo. Burial will be in the Naylor Memorial Cemetery with Dr. John Krans officiating.

Ralph Edward Atteberry

Ralph Edward Atteberry, 83 of the Naylor passed away December 24, 2012 in the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. He was born February 5, 1929 in Naylor,Missouri to the late W.O. Attebery and LuVina Hocking Attebery.

On September 14, 1957, he was married to Peggy Morley. She preceded him in death on November 5, 2000.

He liked playing cards, reading, raising, water melons, Bible studies and traveling, He enjoyed his grandchildren and He was a member of the Church of God.

He is survived by his children, Shelia Murdock and husband Steve of Dexter, Mo.,Darrell Attebery of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Pamela Godwin and husband Anthony of Naylor, Mo., Sally Luye of Naylor, Mo., Jennifer Robinson and husband Rob of Naylor,  Mo., and Amanda Thompson and husband Time of Naylor, Mo.. Two sisters, Marie Baxter of Oranville,  Illinois and Ermadene Murray of  Hazelwood, Mo. also survive, as well as sixteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

He preceded in death  by his wife, parents and six brothers.

Visitation will be starting at 11:00 a.m. December 27, 2012 in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel of Neelyville with the funeral beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Naylor Memorial Cemetery of Naylor, Mo with Donnie Fowler officiating.

VICTORIA LYNN MARSHALL

Vicki Lynn Marshall, 53 of Poplar Bluff, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2012 at her residence. 

She was born April 23, 1959 in South Elgin, IL.  She was employeed at Tyson Foods.  She liked to sew, knit and crochet. 

She is survived by her soulmate, Chuch Newman; her parents, Richard and Marllene Marshall; a sister, Terri A. Kearbey; brother Dean Marshall and two great nephews; Logan Isaiah Kearbey and Dalton Gabriel Kearbey.

There are no services planned at this time.

KEVIN MICHAEL GRIFFIN

Kevin Michael Griffin, 53, of Poplar Bluff passed away Saturday December 22, 2012 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. 

Mr. Griffin was born December 16, 1959 in Flint Michigan.  He was in the flooring business.  He enjoyed doing volunteer work, spending time with family and friends and was a member of the Eagles.  

He is survived by his mother, Sandy Patroza of Masa, AZ; his children, Michael Griffin, Brittany Griffin, Heather Land, Thalena Sarnowski and Chrystal Sarnowski; two brothers, Paul Stevenson and Richard Stevenson and grandchildren, Alexis Ann Morris and Trisha Lynn Morris.

Visitation will be 12-2p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2012, at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar St. , Poplar Bluff, Mo.  A graveside Funeral service will follow at 2:15p.m. at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.

Laurie Hartsoch

Laurie Hartsoch, 38, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Wednesday December 19, 2012 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. 

Ms. Hartsoch was born December 5, 1974 at Willowston, North Dakota. 

She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, watching movies, taking care of babies, camping, hunting, and cooking.

She is survived by her fiance’, Joseph Powell; her children, Makayla Hartsoch, Jasmin Hartsoch, William James, Preston James, and Dominic James; her mother, Kathy (Snyder) Lund and step-father, Rodney Lund; her step-mother, Marshia Hartsoch; two sisters, Renee Ramsey and Amy Penderson, her grandparents, Iona Hartsoch, Russell and Verlee Snyder; twin granddaughters, Marianna and Mariah Mathis.

She is preceded in death by her father, Craig Hartsoch and grandfather, Arvey Hartsoch.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday December 23, 2012 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar Street, Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Ronnie Hendrix Jr.

Ronnie Hendrix, Jr., 49, of Poplar Bluff, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2012 at his residence. 

Mr. Hendrix was born July 19, 1963 in St. Louis, MO. He has been a resident of Butler County for one year.  He formerly lived in Louisville, Ky.  He was an insurance agent.  He enjoyed coaching children in baseball and basketball.  He was of the Pentecostal belief.

In 1985 he married Margaret Moore-Hendrix in Louisville, Ky., who survives.  He is also survived by his children; Christopher Hendrix and Tana Mae Hendrix; his father, Ronnie Hendrix Sr. and step-mother, Catherine Hendrix; three sisters; Melinda Whelan, Rhonda Elsperman and Roni Hogan; two brothers; David Hitchcock and Larry Hitchcock; grandchildren, Carissa Jo Hendrix and Bentley Hendrix as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother: Dorothy Miller-Hendrix

Visitation will be 2-6PM Sunday December 23, 2012 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home 844 Cedar St. Poplar Bluff.  No service scheduled at this time. 

The family asks in lieu of flowers to make memorials to Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home.

Lisa Wheetley

Lisa Wheetley, age 47, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. passed away Monday, December 17, 2012 at her home. 

Ms. Wheetley was born June 5, 1965  at Poplar Bluff.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and loved her 2 grandkids.

She is survived by her life partner, Jerry Carter; two daughters, Stacy Longhibler, Heather Hill and husband, Brandon and one son, David Longhibler; her mother, Mabel La Brier; sisters, Teresa McCraig and Mary Ritchie; three brothers, Lee Wheetley, Terry Wheetley and William Wheetley; her grandchildren, Xavier Hill and Zoey Hill.

Her father, Jerry Wheetley, preceded her in death.

Wanda (Magruder Powers) Morgan

Wanda (Magruder Powers) Morgan, longtime resident of Poplar Bluff, passed away December 14, 2012, surrounded by her family.

She was born January 22, 1927, in Poyner, Mo.  She graduated from Neelyville High School and Three Rivers College.  Mrs. Morgan retired from the Missouri Children’s Division as an adoption specialist.  She traveled extensively in the United States, Europe, Middle East and Central America.

Mrs. Morgan was a member of the First Baptist Church and served as a teacher to her beloved friendship class until her illness.

Survivors include her son, George Leon Powers (Julia) of Enterprise, Ala.; her daughter, Donna Morgan Pinkerton ( Ronald) of Poplar Bluff; grandchildren, Matthew Powers (Sonja)  of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., Jason Powers of Pinson, Ala., Melissa Pinkerton-McDaniel (Clinton) of St. Louis, Mo and Beau Pinkerton (Cassie) of Wappapello, Mo.; and one great-grandchild, Meridian McDaniel of St. Louis, Mo.

Mrs. Morgan was predeceased by husbands, George Jacob Powers and Archie Lee Morgan; her parents, Fred and Golden (McCauley) Magruder; sisters, Geraldine Creach, Sarah Janes, Eudora Lockwood; and brother, Don Magruder.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. Monday, December 17, 2012, followed by funeral services at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar Street, Poplar Bluff, Mo. , with burial at Memorial Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, please contribute to UCAN, St. Judes or the Leukemia Foundation.

TONIA MARIE (SANSOUCIE) DALKE

Tonia Marie Dalke, age 46, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. passed away December 13, 2012 at her residence. 

 Mrs. Dalke was born November 28, 1966, in Poplar Bluff.  She was a homemaker and  enjoyed taking care of her home, gardening, Elvis Presley music and cooking. 

She is survived by her husband, Larry Dalke; Gabriella; her children, Nathaniel Sansoucie, Kathleen (Sansoucie) Morey and Emily Sansoucie; her mother, Alta (Archer) Sansoucie of Poplar Bluff, a half-sister, Edith Jean Baker and 5 grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Sansoucie and sister, Tamara Sansoucie

Visitation will begin at 6p.m., Monday, December 17, 2012 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar St., Poplar Bluff, Mo.  The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday December 18, 2012, in funeral home chapel with Pastor Bill Wiles officiating   Burial will be in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
