WILLIAM EARL DAVIS

William Earl Davis, 57, of Dexter, Mo., passed away May 28, 2013, at his residence.

 Mr. Davis was born March 6, 1956 in Columbia, South Carolina. 

He had worked in construction and small engine repair.  He enjoyed fishing, shooting pool, working on lawn mowers and picking the guitar. 

He is survived by a sister, Brenda; two brothers, Tommy and Frank; 3 nieces, Tina, Rene and Amanda; nephews Henry, G.R., Jeff, Michael, Billy and James.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Earl and Ruby Davis.

Services for Mr. Davis will be held at Loomis Funeral Home, 420 W Main St.,  Apopka, Florida 32712 (phone 407-880-1007).  Arrangements made by Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

JIMMY HOLLIS

Jimmy Ray Hollis, 77, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Friday, May 24, 2013, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. 

Mr Hollis was born January 21, 1935 in Tacoma Washington.  He was a floor maintenance worker for a grocery store chain.  He loved fishing, playing pool and hunting and was a lifetime member of the Eagles Club. 

He was married to Mary Ellen Burns-Hollis, who survives.  Also surviving are his children, Debbie Hollis and Dana Hollis; one sister, Shirley Nelsen and brother, Claude Hollis as well as one grandchild. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Claude and Lexcy Hollis. 

The family will have a memorial service at a later date.

Eva Mae Blight

Eva Mae Blight, 79, of Oxly , Missouri, passed away May 22, 2013 in the Poplar Bluff Regional medical Center at Poplar Bluff, Mo.  She was born October 6, 1933 at Broughton, Illinois to the late Ralph Andrew Shroyer and Lena Mae Miller Shroyer.

She was a retired high school teacher and was formly of Clio, Michigan. She enjoyed seamtress work as well as playing golf and enjoyed cooking.

She is survived by eight nieces and nephews John Shroyer, Donna Murray, Kim Brasser, Janice Zapata, Jill Harmon, Kevin Shroyer, Terry Quick and Tim Quick.

Eva was preceded in death by her parents as well as one sister, Vada Nau and one brother, Ralph Eugene Shroyer.

Services for Mrs Blight will be Sunday May 26, 2013 with visitation at 1:00 p.m. with funeral following at 2:00 p.m. in the Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado, Ill. burial will be in the Wolf Creek Cemetery. Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel of Neelyville, Mo. was in charge of local arrangements.

GERTRUDE “MARIE” GREENE

Gertrude “Marie” Greene, 78, of Poplar Bluff, went to be with her LORD and Saviour May 22, 2013 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO 

Mrs. Greene was born June 22, 1934 in Butler County, MO  She was a homemaker.  She was a member of  Bible Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and going to Church. 

She was married to Glynn Greene July 14, 1997.  He preceded her in death May 28, 2005.  Mrs. Greene is survived by four children; Dennis Richmond, Bernice “Cookie” Bradley, Standley Richmond, and wife Kimberly and Roger Richmond and wife Martha; 6 sisters; Mary LaFond and husband Stan, Lana McElwrath and husband Bobby; Barbara Foster and husband Alvin; Linda Hampton, Judy Parsons, and Naideen Goodale and husband John; one brother; Karl Parsons and wife Judi; 7 grandchildren; Danny Richmond, Angela Pierce, Jimmy Bradley, Crystal Richmond, Kevin Richmond, Joe Richmond and Brianna Bond and 12 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Greene was preceded in death by husband Glynn Greene; parents; Victor and Bertie Parsons; 4 brothers; Donald Parsons, Archie Parsons, Leonard Parsons and Jerry Parsons; 2 grandchildren; Kevin Bradley and Tony Richmond; 2 great-grandchildren; Abiella Richmond and Brittney Pierce

Visitation will be 7 PM Friday, May 24, 2013 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff.  Funeral will be 2PM Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Darrell Friday officiating.  Burial will be in Stephens Cemetery in Ripley County.

Arnold Richard Moore

Arnold Richard Moore, 93, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. passed away May 21, 2013 in the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.  

Mr. Moore was born October 24, 1919, at Hamtown, Mo.,  to the late William and Birdie Moore. He was a member of the Bluff City Apostolic Worship Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.  He served in the United States Army during World War II and retired as a  truck driver. He loved gardening.

On September 7, 1996, at Poplar Bluff, Mo., he married Dorothy E. Moore. She Survives.

Also surviving include  three daughters; Lyn Morabito, Nadine Coffman and Martha Peoples (Art): eight stepchildren, Betty Reese(Winfred), Glenda Brannum, Cynthia Haynes, Nathan Stout (Peggy), Sheila Smith (Cevis), Shirley Larmie (Bob), Darrell Stout (Karen), and Valerie Kiefer (Dan);  one sister, Arvella Doty, as well as many grand and great- grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two  previous wifes,Wilda Abbey and Audrey Moore; two brothers, Chester Moore and Thomas Moore and one step son, David Stout.

Visitation for Mr. Moore will be held at  11:00 am, May 24, 2013, at the Bluff City Apostolic Worship Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.  followed by  funeral services at 1:00 p.m., in the Church, with Pastor Jerry Williams officiating and assisted by  Rev. Ted Elledge.  Burial in the Hamtown Cemetery.

JAMES D. BASSHERS

James David Basshers, 69, of Harviell, Mo., died Sunday, May 12, 2013 at his residence. 

He was born March 26, 1944 in Lilbourn, Mo.  He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a Chief Engineer on a riverboat. 

Mr. Basshers was a loving stepfather to his previous wife, Molly’s children, who preceded him in death. 

Also preceding him in death were his parents, James and Thelma Basshers. 

He is survived by his step children, Lee Victery, Thomas Victery, Anna Harris, Donna Nelson, Brenda Moore and Loretta Victery; his sisters, Geneva Absheer, Patricia Carroll and Tina O’Neil; several step grandchildren and several step great- grandchildren. 

There will be a graveside memorial service 11a.m. Friday, May 17, 2013, at the  City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Rebecca Berry

Rebecca Shevonne Kellem Berry, 31, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Monday, May 13, 2013 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St.Louis, Mo..  Rebecca was born October 12, 1981 in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

She was a contracted carrier for the Daily American Republic. she enjoyed fishing, camping and deer hunting. She had attended the Westpoint Pentecost Church of Doniphan, Mo.

Rebecca is survived by two children, Natalie Prewitt and Nathaniel Prewitt, both of Poplar Bluff, Mo. her companion, Jason  of Poplar Bluff, Mo.  Her mother Nancy McDonald of St.louis, Mo and Rick Kellem of Mountain Home, Arkansas.Mother and Father in law James and Brenda Berry, Brother and Sister in-laws, Michael and Amanda Berry, James and Angel Berry, Josh and Timber Berry and Vickie Berry. One Step Brother; Patrick McDonald; one Aunt Susie King;Her Grandmother, Betsy Kellem of Gassville, Arkansas. and several nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her mother-inlaw- Paulette Berry and one brother-in-law Keith Berry.

There will be a graveside service at 3:00 p.m. Friday May 17, 2013 at Kinsey Cemetery near Harviell. Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel of Neelyville will be in charge of arrangements.

Gerome Bosse

Gerome V.  Bosse, age 81, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed Sunday May 12, 2013, at his home. 

Mr. Bosse was born April 8, 1932 in Madawaska, Maine to the late Earnest and Lilian (Delion) Bosse.  He served in the United States Air Force.  He enjoyed fishing, reading and his dog, Butter.

On December 10, 1987, he married Linda O. (Foust) Bosse.  She survives.

He is also survived by his children, Jim Champion, Henry L. Hiles, Jr., George E. Hiles, and Donald L. Hiles; a sister-in-law, Gretta White; thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 7 p.m., Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar Street, Poplar Bluff, Mo.  Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2013,  in the chapel, with Chaplain Bill Orr officiating.  Burial held in the  Black Creek Cemetery with full Military Honors.

Roy Dunlap

Roy Lee Dunlap, age 87, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loved ones and friends by his side.

Mr. Dunlap was born November 30, 1925, in Corning, Ark., to the late Lonnie and Berniece ( Smith) Dunlap.

On October 16, 1967, he married Patsy Ruth White in Poplar Bluff, Mo.  She survives of the home. Roy served in the Army during World War II.  He was self employed most of his life and of the Pentecostal faith.  He loved spending time with his family, hunting and fishing.

He is also survived by a son, Don Dunlap and wife, Vicki, of Poplar Bluff; three daughters, Phylis Huerta and husband, Bob, of Elgin, Ill., Marilyn Dunlap of O’Fallon, Ill. and Lisa Tuttle and husband, Doug of Poplar Bluff; eight grandchildren, Rob (Christy) Huerta, Brad (Rachel) Huerta, Jamie (Mike) Binger, Jon (Amanda) Dunlap, Kristi Townsend, Miranda Dunlap and Hannah and Caleb Tuttle; seven great-grandchildren, Mattea and Mikaela Huerta, Skyler Townsend, Anthony and Preston Binger, Christian Townsend, and Kelsey Rae Dunlap; two brothers, Elton (Ada Bell) Dunlap and Herschel ( Norma Jean) Dunlap; two sisters, Ella Mae Lovell and Helen (Don) Reeves.

He is also preceded in death by four brothers, Oral, Elvie, Lloyd, and Archie Dunlap; four sisters, Goldie Carol Dunlap, Orean Campbell, Pauline Lucas and Linda Lou Teason.

Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013, at the Bluff City Apostolic Worship Center, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m., with Pastor Jerry Williams officiating.   Burial will be in the Kinsey Cemetery in Harviell, with full military honors. Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar Street, Poplar Bluff, Mo. in charge of arrangements.

Lora Steward

Lora Burhans Steward, age 60, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Ms. Steward was born May 26, 1952, In Fresno, California to the late Steward Akers Steward and Lois (Edwards) Steward. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, reading with her grandchildren and having her nails done.

She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Jones and son-in-law, Carl Hiles; two sisters, Ann Ogden and Sally Lane, both of California; two brothers, Randy Steward of Idaho and Phil Steward of Georgia; four grandchildren, Infinity Starkey, Erica Odle, Nicky and Calvin Starkey, all of Poplar Bluff, two nieces, Tara Perez of California, Lea Steward of Idaho and one nephew, Dusty Lane of California.
