Lottie Rice

Lottie Berniece Rice , 67, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Rice was born February 27, 1946 in Clinton Ill., to the late Terry Littleton and Lena (Hesserode) Farley.  A homemaker, she enjoyed sewing, reading and shopping.  She was of the Morman belief and a member of Rebecca’s Red Hats. 

She was married to Clarence Gordon Rice.  He preceded her in death. 

Survivors include a son, Larry Rice and two daughters, Paula Overton and Barbara Smith; a sister, Anne King; brothers, Talmadge Farley and Terry Farley; her grandchildren, Crystal Pope, Brian Burns Jr. Ronin Rice, Dillon Rice, George Smith, Larry Smith and Paul Herrod as well as four great-grandchildren.

One brother, Bill Parker, also preceded her in death. 

No services are planned at this time. Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff in charge of arrangements.

Keith Robertson

Keith Robertson, 29, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Thursday, September 26, 2013. 

He was born August 27, 1984 in Poplar Bluff.  He was a heavy equipment operator for Robertson Contractors.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, being with his family, loved to work and was a loving provider for his wife and children. He was a member of the Palace of Praise Church in Poplar Bluff.

On January 21, 2005 he married Danielle Dawn (West) Robertson in the Bahamas.  She survives.

Other survivors include his beautiful children, Addison, Aiden, and Adleigh Robertson; his father, Gregory Robertson of Poplar Bluff and mother, Lana (Jennings) Lee; grandparents, Calvin and Joan Robertson, Gene and Helen Hon and Wanda Flurry and a brother, Jason Jennings. 

Keith will also be greatly missed by his nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles as well as his many friends.

 He is preceded in death by a grandfather, Dean Jennings.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar Street, Poplar Bluff, Mo.  Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, September 29, 2013 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Wayne Burchett officiating.   Burial will be held in the Sparkman Cemetery. 

Memorials can be made at First Midwest Bank  and First Missouri Bank in Poplar Bluff.

Morgan Whittington

Morgan Whittington, 76, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at his home. 

Mr. Whittington was born August 24, 1937, in Poplar Bluff, to the late Frank and Pauline (Phelps) Whittington.  He was a truck driver and enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, spending time with family and telling stories and St. Louis Cardinal Baseball.  He also worked at McDonnel Douglas.  He was a member of the American Legion.

On July 13, 1984 he married Judy (Phelps) Whittington.  She survives.

Other survivors include his children, Delora Winchester and Debra (Al) Martin, both of O’Fallon, Mo., Tina  (Alex) Dugas of Mountain View, Becky (John) Rice of Doniphan, Tracy (Boo) Sheppard of Poplar Bluff, and Judy Raye Hansmann (James McCormack) of West Plains; a  sister, Pauline Johnson and brother, Kermit Willis;  grandchildren, Jackie, Justin, Deanna, Deidre, Jerry, Josh, J-Lynn, Jacob, Kara, Kenna, Kyle Morgan, Jadian, Jaci, Jakoby and Jacelyn and 11 great-grandchildren.

Also preceding him in death; two sisters, Jeanette Lourance and Shirley Kemp, one brother, Jeron Whittington, as well as one grandson, David Franklin.

Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 27, 2013 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, in Poplar Bluff,  followed by funeral services at 12 noon, with Joe Bissette officiating.

Ona Whittenburg

Ona Mae Whittenburg, 90, of Caruthersville, Mo., passed away Sunday September 22, 2013 at the Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett, Mo. 

Mrs. Whittenburg was born September 16, 1923 in Pat, Oklahoma, to the late Claude and Roxie (Carter) Spangler. 

She was married to Charlie Whittenburg.  He preceded her in death. She attended the Zion Lutheran Church and was a  former owner of The Jewel Theater.

She is survived by two daughters, Patsy Harlan and Deborah Hicks and a daughter-in-law, Fay Whittenburg; twelve grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. 

Also preceding her in death includes daughter, Ona Marie Whittenburg and son, Charles “Butch” Whittenburg.

Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff followed by funeral services at 11 a.m., with Rev. Calvin Buhler officiating.  Burial in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.

Rayeline Amylya Hall-Collins “Thuglet”

Rayeline Amylya Hall-Collins, was born on April 7, 2009 in Wicks Arkansas and departed this life on Wednesday September 18, 2013 at Neelyville Mo.

She is survived by her parents Ira Collins of Springfield, her mother Dorothy Hall of Neelyville and was raised by David Kvacek also of Neelyville. Her grand-parents Barbara Adams of Poplar Bluff, William Hall of Corning. Hannah Kvacek of Brosely and Neke Collins of Springfield.

She is also survived by her siblings Kyle Collins and Neke Collins of Springfield Mo. and Hannah Kvacek of Brosely.

Rayeline loved life and music and also enjoyed her ponys and frogs. She is going to be greatly missed by those who lives she touched and those who knew her.

Visitation will be held Saturday September 21, 2013 starting at 3:00 pm with funeral services being held Monday September 23, 2013 at 1:00 pm, at Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel. Rev. Donnie Fowler and Rev. Donnell McComb will officiate.

Linda Gilliam, 60, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away at her residence, Sunday, September 15, 2013. 

Mrs. Gilliam was born June 22, 1953 in Poplar Bluff.  She was of the Pentecostal faith. 

She was retired from SUSA (Starting USA) factory.  She enjoyed her family, fishing and watching wildlife. 

On February 9, 1990 she married Warren Gilliam, in Corning Arkansas.  He survives.  Also surviving are her children, Nicole Ruble and husband, Clinton and Billy Whoberry and wife, Stephanie; her mother, Grace Elledge; sisters, Cathy Fiehtner and husband, Chip and Shirley Graves and husband, Mike; two grandchildren, Renea Lorentz and Lindsey Ruble. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Clifford Hudson.

Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff, followed by an 11:30 a.m. GRAVESIDE funeral at Black Creek Cemetery, with Rev. Randy West officiating.

Charles “Chuck” McCormick, 69, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Friday, September 13, 2013 in Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Mr. McCormick was born Nov. 10, 1943 in Holland, Mo. to the late Howard McCormick and Annie Marie Rollins-McCormick. 

He attended the Palace of Praise Church in Poplar Bluff, where he enjoyed ushering and door greeting.  He was retired from the Elgin street sweeper factory.  He was a veteran of the US Army. 

In 2007  he married Mildred Pierce-McCormick in Springfield, Mo.  She preceded him in death on Nov. 9, 2009. 

Chuck is survived by his mother, Ann McCormick of Poplar Bluff; a brother, Jerry McCormick; a special cousin Barbara, a special dog Misty and other cousins and uncles. 

Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff, followed by a p.m. graveside funeral at Bernie Cemetery, Bernie Mo. with  Bishop Kent Miller officiating.

Elder Troy E. Martin

Elder Troy E. Martin, 83 of Corning, Arkansas, passed away September 11, 2013 at his residence. He was born March 15, 1930 in Lepanto, Arkansas to the late Frank Martin and Minnie Byrd Martin.

He is survived by his children; Gary Martin of Peoria, Illinois; Bobbi Gillis and husband, Jerry of Memphis, Tenn.; Monica Sue Liepins and husband Guntis of Rockford, Ill., and Dawn-Marie Coggins and husband Jason of Little Rock, Arkansas. One brother Raymond Martin of Rockford, Ill. and seven grandchildren, Elizabeth, Ashley, Allison, Kathryn, Melissa, Jesse and Alexandra as well as four great grandchildren, Ava, Davis, Amelia and Gillis.

On January 30, 1959 at Salem, Arkansas, he was married to Lola Jean Deatherage. she preceded him in death April 9, 1969. Then on  July 1, 1975 He was married to Sandra Jones At East Moline, Ill. She preceded Him in death on February 27, 2011.

He wa the Pastor of the Antioch Missionary Baptist church at Oxly, Missouri. He has also pastored at Bethel Missionary Baptist church in Rockford, Ill. Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Corning, Arkansas and Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Piggott, Ark.. he was a licensed Electrician and retired from Quaker Oats Company after 36 years of service. he loved his church, his family and old cars.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Two wifes, and one sister, Vera  Durham and two brother, Dave and Jerry Martin.

Visitation will be Friday September 13, 2013 at 6:00 pm in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel in Neelyville, Missouri. The funeral service will be Saturday September 4, 2013 strting at 11:00 am at Fowler-Sullivan. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery at Oxly, Missouri with LaVerne Reed officiating.

Brandon Brummett

Brandon Monroe Brummett, 18, of Wappapello, Mo., died Sunday, September 8, 2013, at Sikeston, Mo.

He was born October 14, 1994, at Hayti, Mo.  He enjoyed drawing, skate boarding, music, video games and tinkering on cars. 

He is survived by his parents, Jeffery Priest and Angela (Drowns) Priest; one sister, Brittney Brummett; three brothers, Zachary Klusmeier and Geren Klusmeier and wife, Heather and Random Brummett; his grandparents, Jim and Peggy Priest, Ed and Lois Brummett, Gloria Drowns, Jimmie and Della Drowns. 

Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 14, 2013, at  Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff, Mo., followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. in the chapel with Ron Dixon officiating.

Debra Marie Proctor

Debra Marie Proctor, 60, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri passed away August 23, 2013 at her residence. She was born November 19, 1952 at Poplar  Bluff, Missouri to  the late Willie James Burkett and Bertha Willcut. 

She is survived by her children, Phyllis Robertson, Misty Baker, and Theresa Chalfant. Her sisters, Darlene Thurman and Diane Hart. One brother James Burkett. Four grandchildren, Ladeana Proctor, Roy Brown, Zoey Brown and Josie Proctor.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband John Proctor Sr., one son, Gary Ulrich and one brother, Virgil Burkett.

A celebration of life memorial visitation will be at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel in Neelyville, Missouri.
