Debbie Hanner

Debbie Darlene (Bishop) Hanner, 56, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Thursday, November 28, 2013, at her home.

Ms. Hanner was born December 9, 1956.  She was a member of the American Legion and Eagles.

Survivors include three children, Chris Bishop, Scott Hesselrode and Choni Hanner, all of Poplar Bluff; her mother and father, Patsy Cole and Jim Bishop, both of Poplar Bluff; three sisters, Diane Kiefer ( Dennis) of Williamsville, Mo., Dee Brooks and Dawn Bishop, both of Poplar Bluff; one brother, Michael Bishop (Christy) of Eminence, Mo.; her grandchildren, Adriana Bishop, Shadow Bishop,Lexie Hesselrode, and Axton Eisenbeis, all of Poplar Bluff; several nieces and nephews; and her many friends.

She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, David Brooks.

Visitation will be at 4 p.m. Monday, December 2, 2013, followed by funeral services at 6 p.m., at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar Street, Poplar Bluff, Mo. 

In lieu of flowers, dedications may be made to Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home.

Charles William McCain

Charles William McCain, 83, of Neelyville died at 1 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at his residence.

Mr. McCain was born March 9, 1930, in Osceola, Ark. He was a heavy equipment operator for the Butler County Highway Department and had been a lifelong resident of Butler County. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and family gatherings. Mr. McCain was a deacon and choir president at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Harviell, Mo.

On April 12, 1952, he married Laura Ellis in Arkansas. She survives.

Other survivors include his children, Frank McCain of Rockford, Ill., Ronald McCain, Charleszine Jackson, Gary McCain, Patricia Scott and Kimberly McCain, all of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Jack McCain of Lone Oak, Ark.; one sister, Hattie Teague of Detroit, Mich.; two brothers, Fred McCain of Poplar Bluff, and James McCain of Neelyville; 16 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, MacArthur McCain; his parents, Thomas McCain and Lenora Griggs McCain; two sisters Lou Bertha Shaw and Ruby Walton; and one brother, Thomas Jonas McCain.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Calvary Powerhouse in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow beginning at 11 a.m. at the church with Pastors Gary and Ronald McCain officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Harviell.

Edna Robb

Edna Robb, 98, of Doniphan, formerly of Corning Ark., Marmaduke, Ark., and Illinois, died Monday, November 25, 2013, at the Current River Nursing Center in Doniphan.

She was born Aug. 8, 1915 in Ripley County. She was a school teacher and received her degree from Arkansas State University. She had taught at Beechridge, Bumcomb, and Naylor and retired from the Illinois school system.

Mrs. Robb enjoyed quilting. She attended the Church of Christ.

She was married April 21, 1934, to Owen “Hoss” Robb in Ripley County, who preceded her in deathon April 26, 1975.

Also preceding her in deathwas a son, Ronnie Robb; parents, Harrison Woolard and Delia Williamson Woolard; a sister, Nola Small; two brothers, Jim and Redus Woolard.

Surviving are one son, Joe Robb of Neelyville, Mo. and three daughters, Marie Whelchel of Rogers, Ark., Margaret Slagle of Chesapeake, Va. and Kathy Dale of Rogers, Ark., sister, Katheleen “Tot” Woolard of Doniphan, 10 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren and several great-great-great-grandchildren

Visitation will be held Saturday, Nov. 30 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel.

The Funeral service will be held Saturday, Nov. 30 at noon at the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Black Cemetery in Success, Ark.

In lieu of flowers family requests memorials be made to Children’s Home in  Paragould, Ark.

Corey King

Corey Andrew King, 31, of the Qulin and Glennonville, Mo. area, passed away Sunday November 24, 2013 in St. Louis, Mo.

Mr. King was born March 27, 1982, in Poplar Bluff, Mo.  He was a bending engineer for a pipe line company and  member of the Episcopal Church.  He enjoyed fishing, working on his truck and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his daughters, Havyn Olivia Willis-King and Emma Willis; his mother, Tanya (Landis) Sutton and father, Ronnie King; his grandmother, Lula Hinds  and a half-brother, Ronnie King.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Harry Hinds, Richard King, Ellen King, and Jack Landis. 

Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, November 29, 2013, followed by funeral services at 7:30 p.m. at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844  Cedar Street, Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Carolyn Langley

Carolyn Lee Langley, 63, of Fairdealing, Mo., died Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Ms. Langley was born Jan. 17, 1950, in Blytheville, Ark. A former resident of St Louis, Mo., she worked as a sewing machine operator for Quality Trim making purses.

Survivors include three children, Keith Raymond Grant of Pevely, Mo., Bobby Joe Grant of Fairdealing and Ronald Dale Grant of Naylor, Mo.; two sisters, Patsy Ruth Shelton of St. Louis and Betty Jean Shelby of Benton Harbor, Mich.; two brothers, Oscar Ray Grant of Naylor and James Sherman Grant of Du Quoin, Ill.; three grandchildren, Keith Raymond Grant Jr., Brian Anthony Grant and Chrisine Lee Grant; and three great-granchildren, Kalabe Grant, McKenzie Grant and Kameron Grant.

She was preceeded in death by her parents, Henry Sherman Grant and Polly Maranda Collins, and one brother, Henry Claude Grant.

Linda Hardin

Linda Susan Hardin, 61, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. 

Ms. Hardin was born December 26, 1951 in Poplar Bluff.  She was a member of the Palace of Praise Church and was an Administrative Assistant at Physicians Park. 

Ms. Hardin loved going to church, making wedding cakes, giving to people, going to Branson, and reading The Bible. 

She is survived by her son Micheal Hardin and wife, Christy; two brothers Teddy Kirkley and wife, Linda, Tony Kirkley and wife, Brenda; 2 grandchildren, Jonathan and Jeffry Hardin; 2 Nieces, Cheryl Lorentz and family, and Jeanna Tipton and family; 4 nephews, Nathan Kirkley and family, Tony Kirkley Jr. and family, Mark Kirkley and family, and Rick Kirkley and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Ora Lee (Hastings)Kirkley and a nephew, Kevin Kirkley. 

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar St. Poplar Bluff, Mo.  Funeral services will be  held at 10 a.m. Wednesday November 27, 2013 in the funeral home chapel with Bishop Kent Miller officiating.  Burial will be in the City Cemetery.

Buddy Davis

Ola “Buddy” Burnell Davis, age 63, of Doniphan, Mo., passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at his home.

Mr. Davis was born June 26, 1950 at Poplar Bluff, Mo. to Carl and Virginia Davis.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and retired from the city of Poplar Bluff Power Plant Maintanence.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on cars and loved being outdoors.  He was of the Christian belief.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Davis; his children, Tabitha Davis, Sabrina, McElhaney, Kristy Kipper; step-children, Jamie Morgan and Jackie Underwood; his mother, Virginia Davis; two brothers, Cecil Davis and Timothy Davis, as well as 12 grandchildren. 

His father, Carl Davis preceded him in death.

Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar Street, Poplar Bluff, Mo.  Funeral services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2013 in the chapel with Ray VanDover officiating.  Burial in the Mo. State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo., with military honors.

Donald Hampton Sr.

Donald Hampton Sr., 83, of Poplar Bluff,  Mo., went to his Heavenly home Monday, November 18, 2013 at the Mark Twain Caring Center in Poplar Bluff. 

Mr. Hampton was born January 30, 1930 in Hartville, Mo. He was a Pharmacist and a minister and had been a missionary on an Indian reservation.  He also was a veteran of the Air Force and served in the Korean War. 

On February 14, 2008 he married Nina Sue (Diggs) Hampton, in Poplar Bluff.  She survives.  Previously he was married to Mildred Hampton in 1953.  She preceded him in death June 7, 2003.

Mr. Hampton is also survived by his children, Daniel Hampton, Connie Minton, Donna Hannah, Gary Hampton, Dewayne Hampton, Donald Hampton Jr. and Mindy McGreger and one step son Danis Diggs; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Elsie Hampton, 3 brothers, Marvin,Vernon and Hershel Hampton

Visitation will begin at 11a.m. Friday, November 22, 2013 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff, with a GRAVESIDE  funeral following at noon at the City Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Page officiating.

Margaret Collins

Margaret “Dot” Loretta Darnell Collins, 85, of Lancaster, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, Nov, 12, 2013, due to natural causes.

Margaret was born in Poplar Bluff, Mo., on July 15, 1928. She married Carl Collins on Nov. 14, 1946. They were married 28 years.

Margaret was a loving and caring wife, mother, and friend. She will always be remembered as a fiery, feisty person who would always tell the ones she loved exactl what she thought.

Margaret is survived by two children, Carl Collins Jr. and wife, Pat, and Janis Reed and husband, Charles; two grandchildren, Sam Riepe and wife, Kim, and Charles Reed III and girlfriend, Starr; two great-grandchildren, Jayden and Travis Reed; and a host of family and friends.

Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, Carl; son, Terry; mother, Lillian M. Miller; and father, Radford Miller.

The Collins and Reed family wish to thank everyone for their prayers, support and the many phone calls and emails.

Richard Buhler

Richard Del Buhler, age 61, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Monday, November 11, 2013 at his home.

Mr. Buhler was born January 3, 1952 at Coon Island, Mo., to the late Delbert and Rosie (Beard) Buhler.  He attended the Palace of Praise Church and worked as a tree trimmer.  He enjoyed fishing, squirrel hunting and spending time at the Sinclair station. 

On May 8, 1998 he was married to Deborah (Black) Buhler.  She survives.

He is also survived by one son, Joshua Buhler and wife, Stacie; four step-children, Katina Scott, Elizabeth Francis, Ladonne Hackworth and Shane Ortiz; a sister, Brenda Hastings and brother, William Buhler;  as well as several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mr. Buhler will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, November 15, 2013 followed by the funeral services at 12 (noon) at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, in Poplar Bluff, Mo., with Bishop Kent Miller officiating.  Burial will be in Black Creek Cemetery.
