Lauren D’ior Thomas was stillborn July 30, 2014 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

She is survived by her father, Larrecus Thomas and mother, Nelena Nelson; grandparents, Lowerstine Nelson-Green and Oscar Green and Dianna and Larry Thomas; brothers, Lamarius, Lamontez, Maurice, and LaKaius Thomas; sisters: Anaya and Xyxy Thomas, all of Poplar Bluff.

There will be an Eternity memorial service at noon Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff, with Pastor William Johnson officiating  and words of encouragement by  Deacon Charles Thomas.

Randy Joe Kirk “Ziggy”, 52, of Wappapello, Mo. died Wednesday July 30, 2014 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, as a result of an auto accident.

Mr. Kirk was born April 20, 1962 in Beatrice, Nebraska to William E. Kirk and the late Marjorie V. Cawood-Kirk, who preceded him in death June 20, 2004.

Mr. Kirk was a member of Aggressive Ministries Church in Washington and a member of Christian Motorcycle Association.

He was a contractor for Allison Construction and enjoyed motorcycles and the outdoors.

October 29, 1999 he married Sherry Spitler-Kirk in Ellensburg, Washington and she survives.  Also surviving are 4 children, Samantha Constance, Adam Moore, Bobby Mangrum Jr. and Mike Spitler and wife, Sarah; 3 sisters, Dolly Markham and husband, Grayson, Brenda Dortch and husband, Eddie and Susan Kirk and Bruce Hindman; 2 grandchildren: Christian Spitler and Charles Spitler; nephews, Scott Markham, Carl Markham and Eddie Dortch and wife, Whitney; nieces, Lacey McClintock and husband, Jeremy and Jessica Deffendall and husband, Justin; great-nephews, Thomas Markham, Trevor McClintock, Skyler McClintock, Collin Dortch, Dalton Markham, Dalton Markham, and Austin Markham; great-nieces, Macey McClintock and Mila Grace Deffendall.

Memorial visitation will be 4:30 p.m. Monday, August 4, 2014 at First Church of God Hwy 67 South in Poplar Bluff with memorial service to follow at 5:30 p.m. at the church.  Donations may be made to Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home 844 Cedar St. Poplar Bluff, MO 63901

Debra Million, 57, of Poplar Bluff went to Heaven Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Million was born April 27, 1957 to J.L. McGarrity and Veda Nagy in Poplar Bluff, MO.  They survive.

On Feb. 15, 1974 she married Charles Merl Million in Poplar  Bluff, MO he survives

Mrs. Million worked as a customer service/sales associate at JC Penny.  She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan, she enjoyed cooking, baking and looking through recipe books, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.  Especially the grandchildren and her special little pal Jackson.

Besides her parents and husband, she is survived by a daughter Beth Gilmore and husband Stacy, a son C.J. Million and fiancé Michelle, grandchildren; Kera Macey, Leah Kimberly, Bridget Elise, Emma Lee Dawn, Cole Andrew and Stacy Wayne; Siblings, Diane Dowd and husband Larry, Janet McGarrity, Raymond McGarrity and wife Mari, Ernie Wells and wife Sandy, Sue Brown and husband Buster, Doug Wells and wife Wanda; several nieces and nephews.  She is also survived by Patsy McGarrity, John Michael Smith and Carol McGarrity.

She was preceded in death by Jim Nagy.

Visitation will be 6pm Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home Poplar Bluff.  The funeral service will be 11am Friday, August 1, 2014 at Fowler-Sullivan chapel in Poplar Bluff, with Chaplain Jared Hancock officiating.  Burial will be in Black Creek Cemetery.

Mary L. Bradley, 80 of Holcomb, passed away July 28, 2014 at her home.  Mrs. Bradley was born May 17, 1934 to the late James Ruble and Hazel Hatridge-Ruble, in Annapolis.

Mrs. Bradley was a medical record technician for many years.  She enjoyed auctions, yard sales and her great-grandkids.

On July 15, 1952 she married Laddie Stanley Wallace Bradley, in Poplar Bluff.  He preceded her in death Nov. 27, 2012 .

Mrs. Bradley is survived by her children: Mark Bradley and David Bradley and wife Gina, all of Poplar Bluff; 3 grandchildren; Amanda Tippen, Anthony Wayne Bradley, and Jimmy Bradley; 5 great-grandchildren; Alex, Marc, and Mary Tippen, Pyper and Justice Bradley.

Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Bradley was preceded in death by her sister Betty Deal

Visitation will be at 10am Thurs. July 31, 2014 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff.  The service will begin at noon Thurs in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Richard Ross officiating and burial will be in City Cemetery.

Michael Perren

Michael Anthony Perren, 49, of Fairdealing, Mo., passed away July 22, 2014, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

He was born Nov. 7, 1964 at St. Louis, Mo., to James Aubrey Perren and Josephine (Faucher) Perren.

He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Poplar Bluff and had served in the United States Army as a sergeant during Desert Storm. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, playing pool, singing karaoke, making picture frames and carpentering. He graduated from Naylor High School in 1983, and Three Rivers Community College in 1986.

He is survived by his mother, Josephine, four sisters, Ramona Crumley and husband Mike, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Linda Spence and husband, James, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Theresa Kirkpatrick of Kansas City, Mo., and Angela Luna and husband, Antonio, of Fairdealing, Mo., brothers, James Perren, Timothy Perren and wife, Angie, Daniel Perren and wife, Jennifer, all of Fairdealing, Mo., Steve Perren and wife Debbie, of Wichita, Kan.; 17 nieces and nephews, as well as 12 great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, James, as well as one brother, Raymond Perren.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel in Neelyville. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Poplar Bluff with Rev. David Coon officiating. Burial will be in the Roberts Cemetery at Neelyville.

Mary Lucille Wheelis, 83, of Poplar Bluff passed away July 26, 2014 at her residence.  Mrs. Wheelis was born Nov. 15, 1930 in Butler County to the late Oscar Brannum.

Mrs. Wheelis was a member of Memorial Baptist Church. She had worked at Smiley Container for 35 years.  She enjoyed reading growing flowers, fishing and loved cherry pie.

On July 18, 1969 she married Ogden Wheelis in Illinois,  he survives.  Also surviving  is a son, Dale Hodge, step daughters, Tausha Leigh, and Mina Wheelis; one half sister, Annabella, a brother Gene Brannum, 8 grandchildren, Mitchell, Mike, Eric Hodge and step grandchildren; Brandi, Mike, Bradley, Ashley, and Stephaine,  and 19 great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Gary Hodge, 3 sisters, Neva, Gladys Hilterbrand, and Alma Wheelis and 3 brothers, Joyce Brannum, Buck Brannum and Warren Brannum.

Visitation will be noon Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home and the service will follow at 1pm in the chapel with Rev. Don Mayo officiating.  Burial will be at Memorial Gardens.

Richard Whitmer

Rev. Richard Maxwell Whitmer, 79, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014 in the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. He was born June 14, 1935, at Poplar Bluff to the late Charles and Agnes (Sullivan) Whitmer.

On May 23, 1956 he married Elvira Davis in Poplar Bluff, she survives.

Also surviving are six daughters: Doris Stalling, Debra Powell, Pamella Freeman, Shirley Whitmer and Lillian Whitmer, all of Poplar Bluff, and Marjorie Patterson of Lakeland, Fla.; one sister, Dorothy Walker of St. Louis, Mo., four brothers: Rev. Charles Whitmer, of Fairdealing, Mo., Gary Whitmer, Stanley Whitmer and Terry Whitmer, all of Poplar Bluff; 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents as well as two daughters, Connie and Cindy Whitmer, one sister Deanna McIntosh, as well as two brothers Jack and Bob Whitmer.

Mr. Whitmer was a member of the Twin Oaks Baptist Church where he was a pastor. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time with his family.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Cypress Cemetery at Doniphan, Mo. Rev. Charles Whitmer will be officiating.

Verda Russell

Verda Jeane Russell, 67, of Naylor, Mo. died Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

She was born April 14, 1947 to Jim and Jessie Landis Morley in Ponder, Mo.

She married Willard “Dutch” Russell April 24, 1962 in Doniphan, Mo. He died Feb. 24, 1955.

Mrs. Russell was a lifelong resident of Ripley County. She volunteered at Westwood Hills Healthcare in Poplar Bluff. Her hobbies included playing bingo, golf, and embroidering. She loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and  family and going to church. She was a member of Palatka Church of Christ.

Survivors include two daughters: Donna and husband Larry Hastings and Tammy Thomas both of Naylor, Mo.; two sisters: Birdie Hogan of Neelyville, Mo. and Mary Lou Ramo of St. Louis, Mo.; two brothers: James Buckhanan of Doniphan, Mo., and Roy Buckhanan of Oxly, Mo.; one grandchild, Trisha and husband, Brian; and two great-grandsons: Cameron and Matthew.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until noon Saturday July 26, 2014 at the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel with  funeral service following at 12:00 p.m. with Earl Ladyman officiating.

Burial will be at the Naylor Memorial Cemetery.

Delavina Ferren

Delavina Ferren, 92, passed away peacefully to glory on July 22, 2014.  She was born June 19, 1922 to John and Elizabeth Sappington at Floyd, Arkansas.

She married Sam Ferren on February 2, 1945.  He preceded her in death June 20, 1956.

Delavina was a member of Greater Vision Worship Center in Puxico, MO.  She was also an Apostolic Pentecostal minister for many years and ministered to both the blind and the sighted.  Delavina became totally blind at age 12.  She attended the school for the blind in Little Rock, Arkansas from 1935-1941 where she learned to read and write Braille fluently.  She has held many offices in the Southeast MO united blind club and traveled extensively to attend Missouri Council of the Blind  and American Council of the Blind conventions and activities.

Delavina enjoyed traveling, attending church, reading Braille stories to school children and spending time with her family.

She is survived by 2 daughters Doris Carpenter and husband Leroy and Beulah Ziegler.  1 step-daughter Lorene Spain.  4 grandchildren David Carpenter and wife Jill, Frank Day and wife Rebecca, Cindy Johnson and Jamie Bryant and husband Marty; sister-in-law Judy Johnson, son-in-law Bill Day, 8 great-grandchildren, Whitley and Tanner Carpenter, Amber and Reagan Bryant, Will Johnson, Emily, Stephanie and Alex Day.  A homemaker who had cared for her 25 years, Donna Gordon, and many other relatives and friends.

Delavina was preceded in death by 5 brothers; John, Forest, James, Grady and Carl Sappington, a son-in-law Thomas Ziegler, a granddaughter Melissa Day and great granddaughter Cynthia Day.

Delavina was greatly loved and will be missed by many.

Visitation will begin at 4-7 Sunday July 27 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff and service will be 10am Monday July 28 with Pastor Marty Bryant officiating.  Burial will be at Grandin Cemetery in Grandin, MO

Melvin Spencer

Melvin Spencer, 69, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Friday, July 11, 2014, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 16, 1944 in Butler County to George and Betty (Wilson) Spencer.

Mr. Spencer was a lifelong resident of Butler County and never married. He worked in feed sales for Kings Farm Center.

His hobbies were hunting, fishing, and gardening. He also enjoyed caring for animals and loved spending time with his family.

Mr. Spencer is survived by one sister, Jewell Birdsong of Harviell, Mo., two brothers, Elvin Spencer and George Spencer, Jr., both of Harviell and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Myrtle Anderson, his lifelong companion, two sisters, Carolyn Daves and Mary Brooks, and two brothers, Donald G. Spencer and Bill Spencer.

Visitation took place at 11 a.m. Monday, July 14, 2014 with funeral service following at 1 p.m. with Pastor Bobby Brooks officiating.

Burial was held at Kinsey Cemetery in Harviell, Mo.
