Louis Authar Eakins

Louis Authar Eakins, 82, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri passed away April 29, 2017 at the Manor in Poplar Bluff. He was born September 13, 1934 at New Madrid, Missouri to the late Leslie Eakins ad Etta Mae Gray Eakins.

On June 22, 1963 at Neelyville, Missouri he was married Ruby Dollins. She preceded him in death on April 13, 2012.

He is survived by; two children; Anthony “Tony” Eakins and wife Carlotta of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and Rosie Counts and husband Justin of Campbell, Missouri. One brother Roy  Eakins of Piedmont, Missouri. Five grandchildren; Marcus Martin, Holly Eakins Fowler, Ethan Eakins, Michaela Eakins, and Joel Counts.  great grandchildren;  Mia Martin, Harper Martin and Dexter Martin.

He was preceded in death by is wife, parents, son, Michael Eakins and daughter Ann Marie Eakins as well as one sister, Margaret wens and two brothers, Kenneth Eakins and Thomas Eakins. Two grandchildren; Noah Counts and Zoe Counts.

He had served in the United States Army and ad worked for municipal utilities in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and his grandchildren.

Visitation will begin after 6pm Friday, May 5, 2017 in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel, Inc. of Neelyville, Missouri starting at 6:00 p.m.. Funeral will be Saturday, May 6, 2017 in the Neelyville chapel at 2pm. Burial will be in the Roberts Cemetery with Pastor Tim Freeman officiating with Jimmy Gilbert assisting.

Franklin David Aaron

Franklin David Aaron, 60, of Steelville, Missouri, passed away April 25, 2017 in Steelville. He was born December 22, 1956 at Neelyville, Missouri to the late Robert Aaron and Edith Marie Gimlin.

He is survived by one sister; Freida Lester Doniphan, Missouri and 3 brothers; Carl Aaron of Naples Florida, Shelby Aaron of Doniphan, Missouri and Thomas Aaron of House Springs, Missouri, also many nieces and nephews survive.

He is preceded in death by his parents as well as two sisters; Martha Bounds and Bonnie Riley and one brother; R.L. Aaron.

He enjoyed riding four wheelers, chickens and country life.

Visitation for Frank will Sunday April 30, 2017 in the Fowler-Sullivan Memoria Chapel of Neelyville starting at 4:30 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. with a committal service starting at 1:00 p.m. Monday in Chapel. Burial will be in Kinsey Cemetery with Donnie Fowler officiating.

Louise Robertson

Louise Robertson, 89, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Oakdale Care Center.

Mrs. Robertson was born September 22, 1927 in Chaonia Landing, Mo.  She retired from the Mo. License Bureau in Poplar Bluff.

Survivors include her husband, Berlin Robertson; her grandchildren, Brenda Brown (Rodney) of Poplar Bluff, David Sechrest of West Plains and Berlin Robertson (Amy) of Poplar Bluff; as well as great-grandchildren, Tyler, Parker, and Bailey Davidson, Zach Brown, and Blake and Brady Robertson.

She was preceded in death by her son, Ralph Robertson; her parents, Virgil and Hattie Jones; one sister, Annlee Sheridan and brother, Marion Jones.

A graveside service, followed by interment, will be held at 12 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2017 at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery with Ron Fowler officiating

Aimee Jeanne Harmon

Aimee Jeanne Harmon, 87, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away April 22, 2017 in the Mark Twain Nursing Center of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She was born September 9, 1929 at Danville, Illinois, to the late Harlen Sharon and Mary Evelyn “Hannifin” Sharon.

She was married to Robert Lee Harmon and he preceded her on December 22, 2012.

She is survived by her children; Marilyn Leffer of Fort Mojae Arizona, Carolyn Jamison and husband Larry of Neelyville, Missouri, Richard Lee Harmon of Hunting Beach, California, Susan Arzola of Poplar Bluff, Missouri Diane Edgar and husband Charles of Camarillo, California as well as four grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

she is preceded in death by two children; Michael Gary Harmon and David Gary Harmon as well as two sisters; Marguerite  Hodge and Florence Virginia Gorell, one brother Edward Ross Sharon.

Memorial Services for Mrs. Harmon was  Sunday April 23, 2017 in the Independence Baptist Church of Neelyville, Missouri.  Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel. Inc. of Neelyville, Mo in charge of arrangements

Shirley Mae McGee

Shirley Mae McGee, 81, of Naylor,Missouri, died Friday, April 21, 201 at her home. Mrs. McGee was born  October 16, 1935, in Harviell, Missouri. She retired as a cook for the Naylor School System. She enjoyed reading, gardening, flowers, quilting, butterflies and angels. She was a member of Elm Grove General Baptist Church at Naylor.

On November 8, 1952, she married Edward L. “Bert” McGee at Pocahontas, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on September 21, 2000.

Survivors include seven children, Verlin McGee of Poplar Bluff, Missouri Davy McGee and wife, Kathy, of Naylor, Missouri, Ronald McGee and wife, Darlene of Malden, Mo. Edward E. McGee of Harviell, Missouri,, Virginia Ann McGee of Naylor, Missouri, Beverly Bell and Husband Dennis of Naylor, and Karen McGee and Billy Jack of Naylor, Three sisters, Lena Schiff of Covington, Washington, Bertha Jean Marshall of Desoto, Missouri and Mary Douthten of Desoto, Missouri; two brothers, William Horn of Herman, Missouri and Dale Horn; 13 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and one sister, Verda Meneakers; and two brothers, Alfred Horn and Clarence Horn.

Visitation for Shirley will be held from 6-8 pm Tuesday at the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel, Inc. in Neelyville, Missouri. funeral will be Wedsnday April 26, starting at 11:00 am in the Neelyville Chapel. Burial will be in the Naylor Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Dennis Bell officiating.;

Garry Baldridge

Garry Audie Baldridge, 70, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away, Saturday, April 22, 2017 at The Cedargate in Poplar Bluff.

Mr. Baldridge was born January 12, 1947 in Pensacola, Fla. He was of the Christian faith. Garry served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1968 and retired from the city of Poplar Bluff Fire Department. He was a member of American Legion Post 143 and Eagles Lodge in Poplar Bluff and enjoyed hunting and riding motorcycles.

In 2002 he married his wife, Melba, in Butler County. She preceded him in death January 7, 2014.

Survivors include his daughters, Andrea Baldridge and Bettina Blackburn; four step-children, Jamie Ivy (Valerie), Jeramie Ivy (Stacie), Jason Ivy, Megan Berry (Marc); one uncle, Lloyd Baldridge (Imogene); two grandchildren, Sean Blackburn and Alyssa Blackburn; four step-grandchildren, Joshua Ivy, Emmaleigh Ivy, Madison Berry and Alexander Berry. Also surviving is the mother of his children, Alma Baldridge.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, Audie and Margaret Baldridge and one sister, Patricia Ellsworth.

Visitation will begin at noon, Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m., with Ron Fowler officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Cochran Cemetery with full military honors.

Carol Ann Dollins

Carol Ann Dollins, 71, of Neelyville, Missouri, passed away April 12, 2017 at her residence. She was born December 22, 1945 to the late William Wilcox and Beulah Marie “Willis” Wilcox. On December 24, 1964 at Cool Island, Missouri she was married to Charles E. Dollins. He survives.

Also surviving; children, Tony Dollins and wife Kristy and Angela Dollins both of Neelyville, Missouri, one sister Barbara Smithson of Harviell, Missouri as well as one grandson Andrew Dollins of Springfield, Mo.

She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Janet Lent.

Carol was a homemaker and a member of the Friendship General Baptist Church and had served as Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed plants and flowers, humming birds and canning, her grandson and family and friends.

Visitation for Mrs. Dollins will be Saturday April 15, 2017 starting at 2:30 pm in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel, Inc.; with the funeral following at 3:30 pm at the chapel. Burial will be in the Roberts Cemetery with Rev. Allen Leutert officiating.

Clyde Silkwood

Clyde Melbon Silkwood, 76, of Naylor, Mo. passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Silkwood was born on June 4, 1940 in Coon Island, Mo. He worked at Rowe Furniture and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. He was of the Pentecostal faith.

On December 31, 1966, he married Janet Faith Aubuehon in St. Louis, Mo. She preceded him in death on Monday, July, 2014.

Also preceding him in death are, his parents, Carl and Omah Silkwood; sisters, Carlene Gowen and Silvia Silkwood; and brothers, Doyle and Jerry Silkwood.

Survivors include, his children, Jimmy Silkwood and wife Michelle of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; Tim Silkwood & wife Donna of Naylor, Mo., Jeff Silkwood and Bud Silkwood both of Paragould, AR., and one step-son Terry Angle of Il.; sisters, Carolyn Evola of St. Louis, Bernice Silman of Naylor, Elda Silkwood of Naylor; brother, Charles Silkwood of Oxly, Mo; 7 grandchildren, Jesseca, Brittany, Destiny, Alyssa, Timothy, Eatham, Shealynn, , and 2 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Saturday, April 15, 2017 from 10:00-12:00p.m. at the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel in Neelyville. The funeral will follow at 12 noon in the chapel with Rev. Bud Beecher officiating. Burial will take place at Coon Island Cemetery in Neelyville.

Minnie Deckard

Minnie Ruth Deckard, 88, of Festus, Mo. passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017 at her home.

Mrs. Deckard was born on April 18, 1928 in Naylor, Mo. She worked in a shoe factory and enjoyed Cardinal baseball, cooking, her church, gospel music and taking care of her family.  She was a member of the Naylor Church of God.

On January 25, 1947, she married Lloyd Raymond Deckard in Pocahontas, Ark. He preceded her in death on Sunday March 21, 2010.

She is survived by her children, Tom Deckard & wife Aurelia of Festus, Mo., Marvin “Short” Deckard & wife Kathy of Springfield, Roy “Kettle” Deckard & wife Kathy of Conway, Ark.,  Brenda Wallace & husband Doyle of Farmington, Mo.; 4 brothers, Bill McGee of Naylor, Mo., Jim McGee of Festus, Mo., Don McGee of Lake City, Ark., John McGee of Naylor, Mo.; 11 grandchildren, as well as 13 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Lizzie McGee; One granddaughter, Heather; sisters, Barbara Powers, Linda Barker and Pattie Sue; brothers, Dale L. McGee, Bert McGee and Dick McGee.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel in Neelyville from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. The funeral will be on Friday, April 14, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel with Bro. Bob Featherston officiating, assisted by Donnie Fowler. Burial will take place at the Naylor Memorial Cemetery.

Lisa Shell-Gentry

Lisa Hope (Shell) Gentry, 50, of Mill Spring, Mo., passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Lisa was born July 13, 1966 in Kennett, Mo.  She was of the Baptist faith.  A restaurant cook, she enjoyed being with her grandchildren and family, cooking and cleaning.

She is survived by her parents, Gary and Shirley Shell; her children, Jessica M. Causbie and Chaz Gentry; daughter-in-law, Courtney Gentry and the father of her children, Lee Gentry; one brother, Chuck Shell; sister-in-law, Heather Shell, nephew, Austin Shell and niece, Alexis Shell, as well as 4 grandchildren, Amelia and Aiden Causbie and Aaron and AAliyah Gentry; her aunts, uncles and other family members, and very special friends, Cody, Dwight and Dameon.

Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 10, 2017 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff, followed by the funeral service at 1 p.m., in the chapel, with JR and Jack Hill officiating.
