Rosa Ford

Rosa Lee Ford, 93 of Poplar Bluff passed away May 30, 2017 at Westwood Hills Healthcare.

Mrs. Ford was born December 8, 1923 in Walnut Ridge, AR to the late Walter David Muse and Leona (Johnson) Muse.

Mrs. Ford had owned several different businesses in her working days.  She was a member of New Home General Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff.

Surviving are: a brother, Bob Muse and wife Joyce of Poplar Bluff; and several nieces and nephews.

She was married to Larry Ford and he preceded her in death.  Also preceding her in death are two sisters and three brothers.

Visitation will begin 10 am Friday, June 2, 2017 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff.  The funeral service will follow at 11am in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Calvin Buhler officiating.  Burial will then take place at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Springfield, MO

Madrian Deangelo Luna Cooper, 23, of Poplar Bluff, formerly of Anderson, Ind., passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017.

Robert “Bob” Keith Day

Robert “Bob” Keith Day, 53,  of Naylor, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017 in the St. Francis Medical Center of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He was born August 5, 1963 at Doniphan, Missouri to Max R. Day and Gloria Martin Day.  .  He had married Carol Burgess on December 8, 2007 at Branson, Missouri. She survives.   Also surviving are his children; Dale Day and wife Mallory of Harviell, Missouri,  Amanda Harmon and husband  Michael of Oxly, Missouri.  ; Brandon Kirk of Naylor, Missouri, Jessica Ratliff of Kansas City, Missouri  and David Ratliff Day of Naylor, Missouri. His Mother; Gloria Martin Day of Naylor, Missouri as well as one brother; Scott Day and wife Kim of Iola, Kansas. Four Grandchildren; Wyatt, Savanah, Lilly, and Owen as well as many uncles and aunts.

Bob is preceded in death by his first wife Karen Shular Day on October 25, 2005. his father Max Day on February 15, 2015 and one nephew, Kyle Day.

Bob was a member of the Naylor Missionary Baptist Church and had worked a Gates Rubber Company as a purchaser. He had been a 1984 graduate of Naylor and later served as board member for the Naylor School System. He enjoyed his grandchildren as well as hunting, fishing, and building in his shop.

Visitation for Bob will be Saturday May 20, 2017 in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chpael , Inc. of Neelyville, Missouri , starting at 11:00 am with the funeral beginning, 1:00 p.m.. burial will be in the Eaton Cemetery with Rev. Donny Emmons officiating.

Betty Newcomb

Betty Ann Newcomb, 72, of Neelyville, Mo., passed away on Sat. May 13, 2017 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Newcomb was born on Jan. 30, 1945. She worked as a salesman in a dress shop and enjoyed her grandchildren, gardening, and fishing. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Corning, AR.

On Nov. 16, 1973 she married Doyle Newcomb in Obion, TN. He survives.

Also surviving is her children, Sherrill DeLancey, Darnell Newcomb, Blaine Newcomb, and Chris Newcomb; as well as 25 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Pauline Mills; sisters, Vera Melton and Dora McEwen.

Visitation for Mrs. Newcomb will be from 11:00 – 1:00 Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel in Neelyville. The funeral will follow at 1:00 in the chapel with Donnie Fowler officiating. The Burial will take place at Memorial Gardens in Poplar Bluff.

She was loved and meant the world to a lot of people.

Donald Cato

Donald Eugene Cato, 60, of Doniphan, Missouri passed away May 13, 2017 at his residence.   He was born July 17, 1956 at St Louis, Missouri to Robert Edward Cato and Dorothy Wilson Cato.

He is survived by; his children, Amy Diane Gilmore and husband Alan of Copperas Cove, Texas , Donald Cody Cato and Fiancé Brittine Allen of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Victoria Paige Cato and Dennis Cooper of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and Michael William Cato of poplar bluff, Missouri. One sister; Kim Patty and husband James of Neelyville, Missouri; six grandchildren; Kale, Lucy, Lennon, Dean, Aiyden, Avery.

He was preceded in death by his father, one Son; Chad Edward Cato and one brother; Darrell Cato.

He was the owner and operator of carpet layer. He enjoyed watching T.V., Car Magazines spending time with his mother; He was a family man and loved his children.

Visitation for Donald will be Tuesday May 16,, 2017 starting at 10am with the funeral following at 12 pm in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel, Inc. of Neelyville,.Missouri. Burial will be in the Memorial Gardens of Poplar Bluff, with Donnie Fowler officiating.

Stephanie Michelle Griffin

Stephanie Michelle Griffin,46, was born May 15, 1971 and departed this life on May 10, 2017, at the Poplar Bluff Regional medical Center.

A lifelong Butler County resident, she enjoyed reading, flower gardens and taking pictures.

She is survived by her children, Garrett Orion Griffin and Jacquilynn Michelle Griffin of Poplar Bluff Mo. and Julia Renee Griffin and Jessep Dale Griffin of Neelyville Mo. 1 brother , Cody Stanley of Poplar Bluff, her mother Gail King Wilcox of Qulin Mo. and 2 grandchildren, Elizabeth Dennis and Nolan Dennis.

She was a member of Bluff City Apostolic Worship Center.

Visitation will be held starting at 5:30 pm, Tuesday May 16, 2017 with Memorial Service following at 6:30 pm. Both will be held at the Neelyville High school Gym.

Joseph Webb Wilson

Joseph Webb Wilson, 83, of Doniphan, departed this life on May 11, 2017, at the Poplar Bluff Regional medical Center. Mr. Wilson was born on October 18, 1933 to the late Franklin Wilson and Zula Walker. On July 10, 1933,  at Doniphan, Missouri ,He married Bonnie Richmond, she survives. Also surviving are 4 children, Kathy Powers, Michele Rogers  Junior Wilson and Brenda. 1 sister Pauline and 4 grandchildren.  he was Also preceded in death by 1 child Ann Wilson. In his spare time he enjoyed reading his bible, playing the guitar, growing tomatoes, fishing, preaching and he enjoyed Joshua. Visitation  will begin Monday, May 15, 2017, at 10:00 am, at Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel, with a graveside services following at 11:30 am at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery.

A resident of Doniphan, he will be missed by his family as well as friends.

There will be a graveside service at 10 a.m. Monday, May 15, 2017 at Ash Craft Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.

Services entrusted to Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff.

Iris Donna Williams

Iris Donna Williams, 63, of  Corning, Arkansas passed away May 9, 2017, in the Flo/Phil Jones Hospice in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She was born April 14, 1954 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Elyma Theodore and Una Bell Songer.  She was married to Lester Williams at Jonesboro, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on August 28, 2015.

She is survived by one child; Davida Williams of Corning Arkansas, two sisters; Wanda Hefner of Maynard, Arkansas and Mae Adams of Destin, Florida as well as two brothers; Stanley Songer and David Songer both of St. Louis, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one grandchild; Khloe Faith Williams.

Mrs. Williams was a member of the Big T Apostolic Pentecostal Church of Corning, Arkansas. she enjoyed listening to audio books and loved singing and her church.

Visitation for Mrs. Williams , will be Saturday May 13, 2017 in the Big T Apostolic Pentecost Church starting at 11:00 am, with the funeral following at 12:00 p.m. in the church. Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Bono, Arkansas with Pastor Brian Malone officiating.

Charles B Wright

Charles B. Wright, age 83, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. went to be with the Lord Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at his home.

Mr. Wright was born June 13, 1933, in Butler County, to the late Robert and Mary (Duley) Wright. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Poplar Bluff and retired from Lucy Lee Hospital in Poplar Bluff. He previously owned multiple businesses throughout the Poplar Bluff area. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. Charles was a friend to all.

Surviving are his children, Ronald Dean Wright and wife, Patty of Grandin and Charles Erick Wright of Seattle, Wash.; grandchildren, Lisa Zoll and husband, Kenny, Beth Barton and husband, Kirk, Jami Parker and husband, David; seven great-grand children and three great-great grand children.

Proceeding in death are one daughter, Ruth Ann Wright; three sisters, Edna Mayes, Louise Wright, and Imogene Maddox; and three brothers, Ira Wright, Floyd Wright, and Richard Wright.

Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. Friday May 12, 2017 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. The funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday May 13, 2017, in the funeral home chapel, with Rev Ralph Mayes officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Hamtown Cemetery in Butler County.
