Bruce Wayne Benson Sr.

The sun set on 61 year old Bruce Wayne Benson Sr. July 25, 2017 at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO.

Bruce was born December 23,1955 to the late J. C. Harrison and Melvina Johnson.  Bruce’s greatest joy in life was the unconditional love shared in his marriage to Monica Benson for 23 years.  His favorite pass times were hunting, watching football and NASCAR.  He was wholly devoted to the time spent with all his family and friends.

In passing Bruce leaves to cherish his legacy: Nine children; Nakia Benson, Alex McCain, Bruce Wayne Benson Jr., Moenika Ellis, Kevin Surratt, Sandra (Kevin)Mitchem, Brittany Miller, Marquise Benson and Tameika Benson; six Carolyn Benson, Sandra Taylor, Myra Milton, Marsha Milton, Portia Johnson and Mary Harrison; four brothers; Charles Edward, Marshall Johnson, Aaron Johnson and Mykel Milton; nine grandchildren, one great grandchild, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mr. Benson was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Edgar Benson Jr, Reginald Harrison, Richard Milton and John (Chris) Milton.

Visitation will be 11-1pm Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home 844 Cedar St. Poplar Bluff. The funeral service at 1pm with Rev. Carl Williams officiating.  Burial will be in the City Cemetery.

Eunice Condict

Eunice Virginia Condict, 87, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at her home.

Mrs. Condict was born on July 20, 1930 in Marston, Mo. She worked as Beautician and enjoyed making jewelry, canvas painting, crafts and quilting. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Harviell, Mo.

On July 14, 1947 Eunice Married Roy Cletus Condict in Tallapoosa, Mo. He preceded her in death on Wed., Oct. 21, 2009.

Mrs. Condict is survived by her children, Gary Condict (Lillie) of Goshen, IN., Verlin Condict (Betsy) of Milford, IN., Roger Condict (Zetta) of Goshen, IN., Teresa Davis (Rick) of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Darla Newcomer (Mike) of Wakarusa, IN.; 2 sisters, Vicky Sharp and Karen Kusel, both of Port St. Lucia, FL.; brothers, Donald Jackson of Malden, Eugene Jackson of Goshen, IN., Mark Jackson of Little Rock, AR., Bryan Jackson of Doniphan; 12 grandchildren, Nickie Ralston, Brandi Condict, Jenny Lehman, Renee Schwartz, Stephanie Resendiz, Jeremy Condict, Jessica Fowler, Joshua Condict, Scott Davis, Ashley Marfio, Leslie cook and Kyle Newcomer; 22 grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Besides her husband Eunice was preceded in death by her parents, William and Effie Jackson; 3 sister, Suzy Inman, Sharon Jackson, and Lonnie Jackson; as well as 4 brother, David Jackson, Billy Joe Jackson, Earl Jackson, and Walther (Butch) Jackson..
Visitation will take place on Friday, July 28, 2017 at the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel in Neelyville, Mo., from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. The funeral will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Jerry Morgan officiating. Burial will take place at Qulin Cemetery.

Ralph Berlin Robertson

Ralph Berlin Robertson, 89  of Poplar Bluff, passed away July 25, 2017  at the Oak Dale Caring Center.

He was born on March 19, 1928 to the late Frances Legrand Robertson and Pearl Robertson.

On January 26, 1948 he married Louise  (Jones) Robertson, she preceded him in death  April 27, 2017.

Mr. Robertson retired after 28 years of service to the Brown And Williamson Tobacco Company. Then he sold cars for over 30 years. He loved to work, that was his main hobby.

He is survived by his grandchildren, Brenda Brown (Rodney)  of Poplar Bluff, David Sechrest of West Plains, Berlin Robertson (Amy) of Poplar Bluff.

great-grandchildren, Tyler, Parker, Bailey Davidson, Zach Brown, Blake and Brady Robertson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Ralph Lee Robertson, as well as three sisters, Helen Sheehy, Nadine Gilmore, Alene Gaines. Two brothers, David and Jack Robertson.

Visitation will begin at 10 30 am on Friday July 28, 2017 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 12 noon in the City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff with Ron Fowler officiating.

Patricia Kesler

Patricia Kesler, 82, of Poplar Bluff passed away July 19, 2017 at her residence.

She was born Nov. 9, 1934 in St Louis, MO, to the late Cleat and Virginia (Heaton) Kesler.  She was a member of First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff.

Mrs. Kesler is survived by one sister: Virginia Talley, a nice and nephew.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother: Dale Thomas Kesler and a sister: Peggy Garrison.

There will be a GRAVESIDE funeral Saturday, July 29, 2017 10am  at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.  Ron Fowler officiating.

Mary Alice Bilbrey

Mary Alice Bilbrey, 85, of Poplar Bluff passed away Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Black River Medical Center.  She was born December 1, 1931 in Hendrickson, MO to the late Milburn and Millie (Johnson) Alford.

She worked at H. W. Gossard Factory for forty-two years.  She enjoyed crocheting, watching St. Louis Cardinal baseball and game shows.  She dearly loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and great- great-granddaughter.

On March 26, 1955 she married Dean Bilbrey in Hernando, MS.  He preceded her in death July 9, 2016.  Together they shared sixty one years of marriage.

Surviving are children: Teresa Phelps, Deanise(Allen) Barker, Bobbi (Doug) Hon and Tim Bilbrey; grandchildren: Charlie (Taylor) Barker, Justin Barker, Dylan Barker, Bucky (Amanda) Hon, Shannon (Matthew) Sparks, Charles Hon, Michael Hon and Mary (Vernon) Davidson; great-grandchildren: CJ Hon, Tanis Sparks, Rylee Sparks, Porter Hon and Quentin Hon; great-great-granddaughter: Lucy Hon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dean, brothers; James, Earl, Milburn, Walter and Gene Alford and  Son-in-law Basil Phelps.

Visitation will be 11-12:30 Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff.  There is a GRAVESIDE funeral immediately following at 1pm in Poplar Bluff City Cemetery with Pastor Scott Sifford officiating.

Michael W. Hawkins Sr.

Michael Wayne Hawkins Sr., 69, of Poplar Bluff entered into Heaven July 22, 2017 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.  Mr. Hawkins was born June 28, 1948 in Okmulgee, OK, to the late Spirl Hawkins and Marjorie (Smith) Hawkins.

Mr. Hawkins retired from the United States Army in 1986 to begin his pastoral ministry.  He was a minister from 1984 to 2007 when he retired.  He was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff.  He enjoyed being with his grandkids, fishing, hunting and playing golf.

On July 30, 1970 he married Linda (Phegley) Hawkins in Fort Leonard Wood, MO.  She survives.  Also surviving are children; Michael Hawkins Jr. (Amanda), Melissa Rose Hawkins; sisters: Beverly Hamm, Lois Harris and brother Butch Hawkins; Seven grandchildren: Christopher, Austin, and Sarah Hawkins, Wilson and Maranda Richey, Joseph and Jakob Hawkins.  One great-grandchild Caspian Hawkins.

Mr. Hawkins was preceded in death by his parents Spirl and Marjorie Hawkins and one sister Geneva Hawkins.

Visitation will be at 5pm Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Temple Baptist Church 1813 Barron Rd. Poplar Bluff.  The funeral service will be at 10am Wednesday, July 26, at Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Patterson officiating.  Burial will be at Mo State Veteran Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO at NOON, with full military honors.

Family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Temple Baptist Church Building Fund 1813 Barron Rd. Poplar Bluff, MO 63901

Judy Ann Willcut

Judy Ann Willcut, 76, passed away at her home in Stockton, Missouri July 20, 2017. She was born October 30, 1940 at Kennett, Missouri to the late James W. Frye and Minnie Lou (Brown) Frye. On December 4, 1958 at Kennett, Missouri she was married to Elmer Willcut Jr.. He preceded her in death on April 3, 2012.
She is survived by One son; Kenny Willcut and wife Roberta of Stockton, Missouri and one Daughter; Lee Ann Clayton and husband James of Nixa, Missouri. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren,
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, as well as one son; Jimmy Dale Willcut, two sisters; Vera Willcut, Dorothy Damron and one brother; Virgil Key.
She was a member of Verona Christian Church of Verona, Missouri. She was a homemaker and enjoyed Cooking, reading, cardinal baseball. She also enjoyed her church as well as her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Willcut will be Sunday July 23, 2017 starting at 6p.m. in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel of Neelyville, Missouri. Funeral will be Monday July 24, 2017 starting at 10:00 am in the Funeral Chapel.
Burial will be in the Cochran Cemetery following service with Donnie Fowler officiating.

Linda LaRose Smith

Linda LaRose Smith, 68 of Poplar Bluff, Mo. passed away Wednesday July 19, 2017 at her residence.  She was born on June 1, 1949 and was a lifelong resident of Poplar Bluff. On June 30,1973 she married Tilman Leroy Smith Jr.  He  preceded her in death on March 1, 2007. Mrs. Smith was a retired beautician

She was a member of Calvary Community Church and a Girl Scout leader for many years.  Mrs.  Smith enjoyed time with her grandchildren, sewing, cooking and Cardinals baseball.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her children; Stephanie Lynn Smith, Elizabeth Lee Ann Smith and Ashley Lynnette McDonald and four grandchildren; Curtis Ray Smith, Shawn, Conner and Rileigh McDonald.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Owen Edwin and Marylee Bullock, grandparents; Jesse Lee and Gladys Hathoway and O.E. and Dollie Bullock.

Visitation will be at noon Saturday July 22, 2017 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff.  Funeral services will follow at 1 pm in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Shelvie Stephens officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.

Mary Katherine Davis

Thursday, July 20th, 2017

Mary Katherine Davis, 80,  of Fairdealing, Missouri , passed away July 17, 2017, at the Life Care Center of St. Louis, Missouri. She was born March 6, 1937 at Fisk, Missouri, to the late Clarence Brown and Myrtle Miller Brown.

She was married to George Washington Davis Sr. in California. He preceded her in death on January 9, 1975.

She is survived by;  her children; Clarence Tyler Davis of Trenary, Michigan, George Washington Davis Jr. of Modesto, California, John Davis of Fairdealing, Missouri and Sue Breese of Bowing, Texas and Rita of Texas , Leona Jeremy of Oakdale, California.  Two half sisters; Sandy Miller of Texas, Linda Miller of Poplar Bluff, Missouri.  Two half brothers; Donald Miller of Neelyville, Missouri and George Miller of Texas. several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two sons; William Lee Davis and Jerry Davis as well as one half sister; Ada Boyd and two half brothers; Dennis Miller and Tony Daniels.

She enjoyed puzzles, reading, and flowers. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist Faith.

Visitation will be Monday July 24, 2017 in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel, starting at 1:00 p.m. till 4:00 p.m.. Funeral services will be Tuesday July 25,. 2017 at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral chapel of Neelyville, Missouri. Rev Bill Orr will be officiating, burial will be in the Hvam Cemetery at Neelyville, Missouri.

Jimmy Lee Blurton

Jimmy Lee Blurton, 76 of Poplar Bluff, moved to Heaven at 3:39a.m. on Tuesday July 18, 2017.  He was born May 22, 1941 in Macks  Creek, Mo to the late Herbert Junior Blurton and Gladys Wanda Blurton (Rash).

Mr. Blurton enjoyed his family, grand and great-grandchildren, friends, fishing, hunting and gun collecting.

He married Brenda Kay Blurton (Reed) on September 22, 1979.  She survives.  Also surviving are  two sons: Timmy of Elsinore, Danny (Debbie)  of Poplar Bluff; three daughters: Pam Blurton Willis (Tim) of Macks  Creek, MO, Sarah Blurton Ray (Guy) of Williamsville, and Wanda Blurton Eastwood (Mark) of Fair Grove, Mo.  two brothers: Fred Blurton (Gail) and Dan Blurton (Crissy), one sister: Jo Ann Smith (Wendell) of Macks Creek, Mo,  10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 1-2pm Friday, July 21st at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff.  The funeral service will start at 2pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Calvin Buhler officiating. Interment will be at the Old Oak Hill Cemetery.
