Rev. Jeff Fails

Rev. Jeff Fails, 50, of Neelyville, MO., formerly of Albuquerque, NM., passed away on Sunday, October, 29, 2017 at the Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

Jeff was born on August 9, 1967 in Little Rock, Ar. He was the owner and operator of Jeff’s handyman service and loved music, working on vehicles, his church and camping. Jeff loved his family and loved the God he served. On July 1985 he received the Holy Ghost and accepted his call into the ministry. Jeff was a member of the Naylor Pentecostal Church having served as assistant pastor, youth leader, Sunday school teacher and church bus driver.

On June 24, 1988 Jeff married Laurie Elizabeth Reed in Naylor, Mo. She survives.

Also surviving are their three children, Christian Fails of Naylor, Mo., Chance Fails and wife Katie of Neelyville, Mo., Mariah Fails of Neelyville, Mo.; mother, Carol Fails of Albuquerque, NM.; mother and father in laws, Ron and Brenda Reed; sister, Wilma “Tuny” Choice and husband Ben; brother, David Fails of Albuquerque, NM.; and brother and sister in law, Mike and Pam Reed.

Preceding him in death was his father, Jeremiah Fails.

The funeral will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the Naylor Pentecostal church with Pastor Donnie Fowler officiating. Burial will follow at the Coon Island Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers family requests memorial be made to Fowler & Sons Funeral Home.

Anna Lorraine Conner

Anna Lorraine Conner,84, of Poplar Bluff passed away October 29,2017 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.  Mrs. Conner was born March 7,1933 in St. Louis, MO

She attended Hamtown Church, enjoyed fishing and yard work.  She was married to Walter Edward Conner Sr. for 55 years.  He preceded her in death Aug. 10,2012

Mrs. Conner is survived by children, Linda Halbert, Walter Conner Jr., Robert Leo Conner, Thomas Wayne Conner, Donald Lee Conner, Oliver James Honkomp and adopted children; Ester, Howard and Chris Blackmon; sisters, Judith Long, Teri Wooldridge, brothers, Robert Griffin, William Griffin, William Dixon and Phillip Dixon; 26 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Conner was preceded in death by parents; Oliver Dixon and Ellen Griffin, husband; Walter Edward Conner, a sister; Mildred Morgan, brothers; George, George, Oliver and Clarence Dixon

Visitation will be Thursday, November 2,2017 at 12pm Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff.  The funeral service will follow at 1pm in the chapel with Terry Scott officiating.  Burial will take place at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Georgia Mae Rice

Georgia Mae Rice, 84, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away October 28, 2017 at her home. She was born April 20, 1933 at Delaplaine, Arkansas to the late George Dewey Graham and Willie Street Graham. On July 29, 1957 at Corning, Arkansas, she was married to Harrel Rice. He preceded her in death on March 6, 2008.
She is survived by; four children; Kevin Gray and wife Patty, Alisa Woolard and husband Gary, Sean Rice, and Joy Cookson and husband Steve. Two sisters; Virginia Slayton, and Phyllis Carter and husband Gary as well as two brothers; Carroll Graham and wife Diane, and Bill Graham. 11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother, Thelma Graham, one sister; Elsa Thoemen and one brother; Russell Graham.
Mrs. Rice had served the Lord since the age of nine years old. One of her greatest passions was reading her bible. She sang for years in a gospel group and was a avid crossword puzzle worker and reader.
She loved her children and grandchildren more than her own life and was the best mother and grandmother to us all.
She graduated from the Delaplaine high school in 1950 as Valedictorian, then graduated from Barnes Jewish School of Nursing in 1954 and worked as a Registered Nurse for over 50 years..
Visitation for Mrs. Rice will be Tuesday October 31, 2017 starting at 10:30 am till 12:00 pm, with the funeral starting at 12:00 pm in the Fowler and Sons Funeral Home in Neelyville, Missouri. Burial will be in the Naylor Memorial Cemetery with Rev. James Gore officiating.h

Alva Alberta Barber

Alva Alberta Barber, 85, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away October 27, 2017 at her residence. She was born September 27, 1932 at Charter Oak, Missouri to the late Gilbert Asher and Dollie Hodges Asher.
On December 28, 1951, She married Eugene D. Barber at Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death o March 27, 2000.
She is survived by; one daughter; Charlotte Toben of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Two sons; Neal Barber and wife Lydia of Poplar Bluff and Donnie Barber of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. two sisters; Lillian Jones of Flint, Michigan and Dottie Carter of Naylor, Missouri as well as one brother, George Gilbert Asher of Fairdealing, Missouri. Four grandchildren; Danielle, Rachel, Stephanie and Katherine, and six great grandchildren also survive.
Mrs. Barber was preceded in death by her husband, parents, as well as one sister, Lille Jones and four brothers, Hubert Asher, Luther Asher, Cecil Asher and Edward Asher.
visitation from Mrs. Barber will be Monday October 30, 2017 starting at 12:00 till 1:00 p.m. in the Fowler and Sons Funeral Home of Neelyville, Missouri. A graveside will be held at 1:30 pm in the Cochran Cemetery of Harviell, Missouri. Donnie Fowler officiating.

Roger Lee Turner

Roger Lee Turner, 57, of Neelyville, Missouri, passed away October 26, 2017 at his home in Neelyville. He was born March 25, 1960 at Poplar bluff, Missouri to the late Dale and Louise Turner. On October 20, 2013 at Gatlinburg, Tennessee he was married to Laura Kelly. She survives.
He is survived by; one daughter; Renee Busby and four step children; Jimmy, Jeremy, Josh and Jenna, as well as four grandchildren; Zoya Brooke Johnson, Lauren Wilson, Otto Austin and Jeremy Busby II. One brother; Ronnie Turner of Fairdealing, Missouri. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents as well as two sisters; Mary Turner and Christine Gardner.
Roger had attended the Ash Hill General Baptist Church in Fisk. He was also a farmer and enjoyed camping, fishing, 4 wheeling, and spending time with family and friends.
A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, October 28, 2017, starting at 5 p.m. with a memorial service starting at 6:00 p.m. in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel, Inc. of Neelyville, Missouri. Pastor Gary Hancock officiating.

Ray Glen Linville

Ray Glen Linville, 95 of Poplar Bluff passed away on Thursday October 26, 2017 at the Cedar Gate in Poplar Bluff.

He was born on August 15, 1922 in Bloomfield to the late Fred and Lula (Moore) Linville.

He had worked as a farm hand. Mr.Linville attended the Palace Of Praise in Poplar Bluff.

He is survived by his cousins, Mertie Cates, Bessie Roper, Novella Newcomer, Jessie Linville, Ronda Maloy, Silvetta Groom, Rodney and Venessa Roper and Glenda Cato.

A special caregiver Nellie Biggs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister  one brother Raymond Linville.

Visitation will begin at 12 pm on Monday October 30, 2017 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff.

Funeral service will follow at 1 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Josh Reasons officiating.

Internment will follow in the George Cemetery near Aquilla Mo.

Hattie L. Williams

Hattie L. Williams, 79 of Poplar Bluff was called home Monday, October 23,2017 at her residence with her family by her.  Mrs. Williams was born July 29, 1938 in Rives, Mo, to the late Caleb and Hattie(Thompson) Williams.

Mrs. Williams was a registered nurse at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center.  She was a member of True Believers Missionary Baptist Church.  She enjoyed church activities and reading.  She received an honorary doctoral degree for service in ministry with her husband Rev. Johnny Williams.

She was married to Rev. Johnny Williams on August 24, 1957 in Poplar Bluff.  He survives.  Also surviving are children; Pastor Carl Williams (Helen), Purity Williams, Pastor Leroy Williams(Annie), Apostle  Anthony Williams(Connie); sister, Rosie Akins; 20 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her parents, a sister; Mallie Williams; and brothers, Will and Allen Williams.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 28,2017 11am at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff.  The funeral ceremony will follow at 12pm in the chapel with Pastors; Carl, Anthony, Leroy and Purity Williams.  Burial will be in the City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.

Harley Lou Lou Conner

Harley Lou Lou Conner, 2 of Naylor, went to Heaven Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.   Miss Harley was born June 16, 2015 in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Harley enjoyed watching television and listening to music.

Harley is survived by her birth parents; Jackson and Cheri Conner, honorary parents; Michael and Amy Palmer,  grandparents; Dean and Bobbi Wegener, great-grandmother Jodi McClanahan; honorary grandparents; John and Brenda Young; birth sisters; Annalyssa and Rosalee Conner; honorary sister; Brittany Ketchem, honorary brothers; Austin Ketchem, Mason and Matthew Palmer and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Harley was preceded in death by grandparents; Lisa and Jackie Conner.

Visitation will be 6-8pm Wednesday, October 25th at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff.  The funeral service will be Thursday, October 26th at 3pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Timothy Schultz officiating.  The service will then be concluded.

Alice Marie “Jorn” Gambill

Alice Marie “Jorn” Gambill, 87, of Naylor, Missouri, passed away October 20, 2017, at her residence. She was born September 7, 1930 at St. Louis, Missouri to the late Charlie Jorn and Emma Anna Koehler Jorn.
On November 10, 1951, she was married to Ples Mortin Gambill at Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on June 6, 2010.
She is survived by her children; Gary Gambill and wife Alberta of Lowell, Arkansas, Ples Randal Gambill and wife Sheila of Benton, Missouri, Kathleen Gilmore of Naylor, Missouri, Sandy Gambill and husband Robert of St. Louis, Missouri and John Gambill and wife Rhonda of Doniphan, Missouri. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents husband and one brother Alfred Jorn. One grandson, Ryan Gambill and Great grandson Skylar Cramner.
She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church at Doniphan, Missouri and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Hyacinth Chapter 427 of Naylor, Missouri. In the 1950’s, She had worked at the Glass works in Alton, Ill, and a member of AFLCI0 union.
She enjoyed face booking with her grandchildren, feeding bird, Gardening, and making quilts for her grandchildren and reminiscing about the old times. And she enjoyed Cardinal’s baseball.
Visitation will start Sunday October 22, 2017 from 5:00 pm till 8:00 pm. Funeral will follow Monday October 23, 2017 at 1:00 pm in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel, Inc. of Neelyville, Missouri. Burial will be in the Naylor Memorial Cemetery at Naylor, Missouri with Donnie Fowler officiating. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s or to Samaritan’s Purse Operations Christmas child shoeboxes.

Jimmy Gale Jones

Jimmy Gale Jones, 81, of Neelyville, Missouri passed away October 19, 2017 at Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He was born December 22, 1935 at Peach Orchid, Missouri to the late Russell Jones and Eva Anna Malin Jones. On August 4, 1956 at Hernado, Mississippi He was married to Wanda St.Cin. She departed this life on February 5, 2010. Then on May 13, 2011 at Corning, Arkansas he was married to Orlena St.Cin Emmons. She preceded him in death on December 21, 2013.
Surviving is children; Teresa Hobbs and husband Randy of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Jimmy Jones and wife Tonnie of Doniphan, Missouri, Rhonda Uhl and husband Danny of Fairdealing, Missouri, Chris Jones and wife Carrie of Neelyville, Missouri one Step son; Freedie Emmons and wife Amy of Neelyville, Missouri and step daughter, Shelia Merchant and husband Will of Neelyville, Missouri. Twelve grandchildren; Scott McBroom, Rikki Johnson, Parker Jones, Aaron Jones, Shelby Moon, Wyatt Moon, Bubba Jones, Chad Jones, Michaela Jones, Jerimiah Blackshear, Josh Blackshear and Rocky Nierman. Also 10 great Grandchildren survive.
He was preceded in death by one brother; Bobby Jones as well as two sisters.
He had graduated from Neelyville High School and had served on the Neelyville School Board as well as being on the Coon island Fire Dept. He was a member of the Naylor Pentecostal Church and also had attended Coon Island General Baptist Church.
He enjoyed hunting deer, squirrel, raccoon, and turkey. As well as fishing.
Visitation will be Saturday October 21, 2017 starting at 6:00 pm with the Funeral Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the Fowler-Sullivan memorial Chapel of Neelyville, Missouri. Burial will be in the Coon Island Cemetery, With Donnie Fowler and Brother Allen Leutert officiating.
