Mary Fears

Mary Alice Fears, 87 of Poplar Bluff, passed away on January 28, 2018 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

She was born on January 30, 1930 to the late Roscoe and Katie (Camp) Boyle at Naylor, MO. Mary worked as a checkout supervisor for K-Mart. On June 26, 1948 she married Leo at Piggott, AR.

She was a member of First Christian Church in Poplar Bluff. She worked in girl scouts for 14 years, city council with PTA and coached girls softball team..

Mary is survived by three Daughters, Katherine G Miller, Sheila (Keith) Montgomery Lana (Odie) Willis; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren,

She was preceded in death by Husband, Leo Fears, Father, Roscoe Boyle, Mother, Katie Boyle, one sister; 5 brothers and one son-in-law, Larry Miller.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 3, 2018, 1:00 pm at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 3, 2018, 2:00 pm at the Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO, with Pastor  Frank Chlastak officiating.

Burial will take place in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Gerald “Jerry ” Deal

Gerald “Jerry” Lee Deal, 84 of Poplar Bluff, passed away on January 28, 2018 at his home. He was born on April 29, 1933 to the late Lee and Alda (Vaughn) Deal at Poplar Bluff, MO. He was a member of Second Baptist Church. He was a contractor and a veteran of the United States Air Force 1951-1955. Jerry enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He married Mary Buffington at Poplar Bluff in 1951. She survives. Also surviving is Daughter, Teresa Smarr(Charles) of Columbia, MO; Grandson, Brian Smarr; .

He was preceded in death by Son, Gary Warren, Son, Curtis Deal, Father, Lee Deal, Mother, Alda Deal, Brother, Eugene Deal.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 1, 2018, 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2018, 1:00 pm at the Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff with Rev. Curtis Crowley officiating.

Burial will take place in the City Cemetery.

Charles Edward Bertholomey Jr.

Charles Edward Bertholomey, 62 of Poplar Bluff, passed away January 26, 2018 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

He was born on October 31, 1955 to Charles Bertholomey Sr. and Mary  Hollis at Chicago, IL. Charles was a truck driver. On December 3, 1995 he married Karen Powell in Poplar Bluff.

He enjoyed going to Rick’s to drink coffee, being with his grandchildren and carpentry work. He was of the baptist faith and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Grandin.

Charles is survived by his wife Karen, Son, Delbert Bertholomey; Step-Son, Darren Collins; Two Step-daughters, Amy Crider, Tina Lampston; his mother Mary Hollis, Four Sisters, Ellen Trout, Linda Kay Hanner, Dena Diehle, Debbie Kirby, Two Brothers, Kenneth Ray Bertholomey, Delbert Bertholomey; Eight Grandchildren, Eleven Great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by Father, Charles Bertholomey, Sr., Sister, Carolyn Sue Meyers.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 29, 2018, 11:00 am – 12:00 pm at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Monday, January 29, 2018, 12:00 pm at the City Cemetery with Ron Fowler officiating.

John Waligora Jr

John Louis Waligora Jr. 67 of Poplar Bluff passed away January 23,2018 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.  

Mr. Waligora was born March 14, 1950 in Milwaukee, WI to the late John Waligora Sr. and Mae (Rediski) Waligora.  He enjoyed woodworking, bowling and being with family.

On August 22, 1972 he married Patsy (Feverston) Waligora in Poplar Bluff.  She survives.  Also surviving are children; Heather Waligora, Charity Rains, honorary daughters; Ruby Hopper and Stephanie Yates,  sister, Sharon McClearn, Martha Marzahl, brother; Lyle Waligora, grandchildren; Zeth Michael Lindsay, and Faith Lindsay.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Barbara Chambers, Susan Ellis; brother, Leroy Demere.

There will be a burial of cremains 2pm February 10 at Marble Hill Cemetery in Butler County, with James Greer officiating.

Tammy Thurman

Tammy Thurman, 51, of Poplar Bluff, passed away on January 22, 2018 at Poplar Bluff, MO.

She was born on January 11, 1967 at St. Louis, MO. She was an LPN. She was a member of a member of the Palace of Praise. She enjoyed her family, friends and her church.

She is survived by, Daughter, Ashley (James) Koonce; Two Sons, Parker Thurman, Johnathon Thurman; Two Grandsons, Damien Koonce, Dorian Koonce; Granddaughter, Draven Koonce; two special friends, Bert Mangrum, Amanda Eversole; Sister, Joy Jennings; Niece, Jody Bryant.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 25, 2018, 1:00 pm at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO.

Mary Frances Pruett, 79 of Poplar Bluff, passed away on January 14, 2018 at the Manor in Poplar Bluff.

She was born on November 1, 1938 to the late Everett Brown and Elizabeth (Ward) Gentry at Sikeston, MO. On February 18, 1955 she married Eugene Pruett at Scott City, MO, he preceded her in death Jan. 11, 2008.

She was a member of New Covenant Fellowship.

Mary is survived by her children,Delbert Pruett, Darlean Kenser ,Charles Glen Pruett and Mary Diane Pruett; Five Brothers, Mike Gentry, Richard Gentry, Danny Gentry, Stanley Gentry, Steven Gentry; Sister, Connie Scales; Grandchildren; Christina Mounce, Amanda George, Sandra Pruett, Dustin Pruett, Krystal Williams, Daniel Pruett, Clifford Pruett; Great-grandchildren, Tessa Aubuchon, Connor Aubuchon, Teagan Mounce, Marissa George, Jayla Collins, Shea Williams, Mason Pruett, Savahanna Pruett, Caitlyn Pruett, Jasper Crawford, Oliver and Olivia Haggett; special friend, Carol Studt; .

Earl Willcut, 83 of Poplar Bluff, passed away January 11, 2018 at Oakdale Care Center in Poplar Bluff, MO.

He was born on April 7, 1934. He was married to Alliene ( Mayes) Willcut. She preceded him in death in 2003.

He was a member of member of Twin Springs Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge of Poplar Bluff.

Earl is survived by two daughters,Vicky (Jerry) Gunter, Sally Carr; Son, Verlin Earl Willcut; Brother, Eldon Willcut; Five Grandsons, Bill Morris, Josh Morris, Clinton Gunter, Travis Carr, Curtis Carr; Granddaughter, Amber Ogden(Wayne); ten great-grandchildren .

He was preceded in death by daughter Earline Pitt, Brothers, Mervin, Marvin, Irvin, Jerry, Gerald, Berley, and Junior Willcut, 2 infant sisters, Wife, Alliene Willcut, and his parents.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 18, 2018, 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018, 1:00 pm at the Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO, with Rev. Roger Mayo, officiating.

Dorothy Ann Buck, 83 of St.Charles, passed away on January 9, 2018 at Lewis and Clark Gardens in Saint Charles, MO.

She was born on December 25, 1934 in Wardell, MO. On September 2, 1950 she married Wilson Buck in Pocahontas, AR.

Dorothy is survived by three Sons, Steven (Cathy) Buck, David (friend Celia) Buck, Roger (Jodi) Buck; four Grandsons, Michael (Jamie) Buck, Christopher Buck, Ethan Buck, Caleb Buck; three Granddaughters, Kelly Still, Kynda Bilyeu, Alissa Freeman; four Great-grandsons, Tyler Buck, Emmett Bilyeu, Kaden Freeman, Kameryn Freeman; three Great-granddaughters, Emma Cossey, Ashley Cossey, Elzie Buck; .

She was preceded in death by Son, Phillip Buck, Son, Timothy Buck, Husband, Wilson Coleman Buck, Father, Cecil Hampton, Sister, Erleen Miller, Brother, Harold Hampton, Brother, Leon Hampton, Brother, Jerry Hampton.

Jimmie Lee

Jimmie Dal Lee, 66 of Poplar Bluff, passed away on January 3, 2018 at his home.

He was born on September 7, 1951 to George and Dorothy (Hall) Lee at Poplar Bluff, MO. Jimmie worked as a truck driver and enjoyed riding his motorcycle.

Jimmie is survived by his daughter, Nikki Benzing(Tony) of Germantown, TN; grandchildren, Landry and Emma Benzing; a close cousin, Linda Gatewood.

He was preceded in death by his father, George D. Lee, mother, Dorothy Lee, and brother, Bobby Lee.

Per Jimmie’s wishes, a private graveside funeral was held on Friday, January 5, 2018 at the City Cemetery with Ron Fowler officiating.
Burial was in the City Cemetery.

Dorothy Tomblin

Dorothy M. Tomblin, 80,of Poplar Bluff, passed away on January 9, 2018 at the Puxico Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born on September 2, 1937 in Alabama. She had made medical gloves. She enjoyed watching wrestling on television and enjoyed the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dorothy is survived by Two Sons, Mike Tomblin of Fisk, MO, Phillip Tomblin of Poplar Bluff, MO; Two Sisters, Libby Redden, and Weida Clark; Four Grandsons, Christopher Tomblin, Nicholas Tomblin, Matthew Tomblin, Justin Tomblin; four great-grandchildren; Cadance Tomblin, Christopher Tomblin Jr., Remington Tomblin and Adeline Tomblin

She was preceded in death by Mother, Willie DuBose.

The family will have a service in Alabama at a later date.
