Carolyn Dianne Reno

Carolyn Dianne Reno , 75 of Poplar Bluff departed this life on Nov.29, 2018 in Poplar Bluff.  She was born on Jan.23, 1943 to the late Homer and Lois (Underwood) Overfield.  In 1982 she was married to Richard Reno, he preceded her in death on Aug.18, 2017. She loved being with her grandchildren, quilting, and animal rescue. Lois was a member of the American Legion Auxillary, and of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are her children, Kim Worlow and husband Randy, Kelly Johnson and husband Richard, Karla V Collard ,Ricky Reno and wife Debi. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Jacob and Ben Worlow, Zackery Horne, Summer Obert, Darby Hoon, Harrison Brown, James , Ryan and Derrick Reno. Six great-grandchildren,  one sister Debby Dicus, two brothers Danny and David Overfield.

A visitation will begin at 11 am on Sunday Dec.2, 2018 at the Westwood Center in Poplar Bluff with a celebration of life service being at 12 noon .

The family has requested in lue of flowers memorials may be made to St.Jude Childrens Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Pl. Memphis TN.38105

Daniel Lashley

Daniel Duane Lashley, 59, of Poplar Bluff, passed away on November 17, 2018 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

He was born on December 12, 1958 to Walter and Thelma (Cole) Lashley at Poplar Bluff, MO.

Daniel is survived by his sisters, Sally Shackelford (Jerry) of De Soto, MO, Susan Bagwell (Sam) of Adamsville, TN; Two Brothers, John Lashley (Velda) of Potosi, MO, Terry Lashley (Carmen) of Weslaco, TX; .

He was preceded in death by Father, Walter Lashley, Mother, Thelma Lashley, by two brothers, David Lashley, Bud Lashley, by two sisters Joyce Lashley Montgomery, and Peggy Lashley Muffett.

Richard “Tommy” King

Richard “Tommy” King, 86, of Poplar Bluff, passed away on November 18, 2018 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

He was born on December 26, 1931 to James and Ellen (Vandover) King at Poplar Bluff, MO.  Mr. King enjoyed playing golf, fishing and watching baseball.  He was a veteran of the United States Navy.  He served 1949-1952.

He is survived by two sons, Richard Allen King (Cheryl), Derren King (Karen); Three Daughters, Gail Stanley (Tom), Sabrina Thompson (Bruce), Donna King (Ricky); Six Brothers, Jimmy, George, Robert, Baron , John and Ronnie King; 6 grand-children; 26 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by Father, James King, Mother, Ellen King, Sister, Ann Simms, Daughter, Tracy Copeland, Granddaughter, Stephanie Griffin, Grandson, Justin King.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 24, 2018, 11:00 am – 12:00 pm at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018, 12:00 pm at the Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff.

Burial will take place in Kerns Chapel Cemetery with full military honors.

Kenneth Mack

Kenneth Lawrence Mack, 54, of Poplar Bluff, passed away on November 14, 2018 at home with his family.

He was born on January 5, 1964 to Andrew and Earline (Shepherd) Mack at East St. Louis, IL On June 16, 2007 he married Mary Pennell.

Kenneth is survived by his loving spouse Mary, Two Sons, Skyler Pennell, Austin Reece; Mother-in-law, Ellen Pennell; Two Grandsons, Kaiden Bruen, Isaiah Allen Pennell; Two Granddaughters, Brelynn Skyanna Pennell, Kendra Michelle Pennell; Brother, Kevin Mack (Juanita); Sister, Nora Reece (Mark); Four half Brothers, Terry Taylor, Steve Taylor, Tommy Reece (Dana), George Reece; Nephew, Marine Corporal Dalton Mack; Two Nieces, Ashley Calvert, Carlie Stroney; .

He was preceded in death by Father, Andrew Lawrence Mack, Mother, Earline Mack, step-father, Doyle “PeeWee” Reece, Father-in-law, George Pennell, brother-in-law, Jason Pennell.

Visitation will be held Monday, November 19, 2018, 9:30 am – 12:00 pm at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO.

Lea Louise Hornbeck

Lea Louise Hornbeck, 93, of Cabot Ark. passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2018.  She was born September 14, 1925 in Poplar Bluff Mo. to the late Godfrey and Iva Edna Underwood Hays. Mrs. Hornbeck loved antiques and she owned an antique store for many years. She was a member of the Church Of The Nazarine in Bridgeton,Mo. Mrs. Hornbeck cherished her family and was a very loving and dedicated mother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Roy Hornbeck and brother, Danny Pigg.

Survivors include her daughter, Kolynn (Wayne) Ezell of Cabot Arkansas, son Denny (Nancy) Hornbeck of Defiance Missouri;five grandchildren, Melanie Shipley, Michelle Dunn, Michael Hornbeck  of St.Louis Mo. Thomas (Lisa) Gill of Miami Florida and Nicholas Frost of Cabot Arkansas; nine great-grandchildren and many dear family and friends.

A graveside service will be Wednesday Nov. 14, 2018 at 2 pm in the City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.

Billy Gene King

Billy Gene King, 47, of Poplar Bluff, passed away on November 8, 2018 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

He was born on December 17, 1970 to Glen and Polly (Shook) King at Poplar Bluff, MO. He enjoyed playing cards, riding 4 wheelers, playing pool with his sons, camping, fishing, sitting around the camp fire and drinking beer.

Billy is survived by, his sons, Dillin King (Renea), David King, (Courtney), Dustin King, (Kristin),  the mother of his children, Joanie King; and  Chase King , four granddaughters, Audrey, Abigail, Adalynn and Danica King; special niece, Morgan Magill; four brothers, Roger King, Bobby King, Danny King, Glen King; two special friends, Sheila Woody, Mary Melton.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Randy King.

Visitation will be held Monday, November 12, 2018, 11:00 am – 12:00 pm at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO.

Funeral services will immediately follow at 12 pm Monday, November 12, 2018 with Ronnie Fowler officiating.

Burial will take place in Marble Hill Cemetery.

Shelia Baker

Shelia Baker, 63, of Poplar Bluff, passed away on November 7, 2018 in Poplar Bluff.

She was born on October 7, 1955 to James Butler and Dorothy (Thompson) Crouch at Hernando, MS.

She had been a social worker for Haven House and a stay at home mom. Shelia enjoyed watching soap operas, doing crossword puzzles, spending time with her grandchildren, tending to her flowers and plants in the yard.

She is survived by three sons, James “Adam” (Brittney) Baker, Mikeal (Ashley) Baker, Tyler Baker; Mother, Dorothy Crouch;  grandchilren, Mason, Emilie, Aiden, Jade, Dylan, Rylie, Makinze, Saydee; two sisters, Shirley Butler, Tina Sebing.

She was preceded in death by husband, Mikeal Baker, father, James “Phil” Butler, Brother, Ronnie Thompson, Sister, Peggy Bigelow.

Howard Ray Gilmore Jr.

Howard Ray Gilmore Jr. 50, of Fort Worth Texas, formerly of Fisk died October 29, 2018 in Hugo Oklahoma. He was born on October 21, 1968 to Howard Gilmore Sr. and Cheryl Ethridge.

He had worked in home construction. He is survived by his parents, two sons Gary and Ethan Gilmore, by two sisters Cheryl Barnes and Debra Brown, a brother Jerry Gilmore,   one half sister Samatha Gilmore, one half brother Dustin Gilmore. other relatives and friends also survive.

Visitation will be Saturday November 10,2018 at 10 am at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 11:30 am at Ash hill Cemerery at Fisk.

Sibyl Jennifer Gunn-Baber

Sibyl Jennifer Gunn-Baber 56 of Gary Indiana departed life on Tuesday Nov.6, 2018 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau Mo. Sibyl was born June 19, 1962 in Gary Indiana. In 1984 she married Arnold Baber Sr. of Covert Michigan where she resided for over ten years.

In 1996 Sibyl relocated to Poplar Bluff Mo. where she resided until her untimely homecoming. She practiced the Methodist Faith and enjoyed many things such as reading,watching classic television,cooking and socializing with friends and family.

Sibyl was friendly,funny outgoing and a hard -worker. She dedicated a signficant amount of her time caring for others and enjoying life.

Her memory will be forever cherished by her loving life partner Bobby Warren of Poplar Bluff Mo. mother Hilda Turner and father James Turner of Gary Indiana. Two brothers Garrick Turner and Justin Turner of Gary Indiana, one daughter April Gunn-Palmore of Westerville Ohio, two sons Arnold Baber Jr. of Kalamazoo Michigan, Jerrod Baber of Detroit Michigan. Beloved Son-In law Da’Juan Palmore of Westerville Ohio, Daughter-In Law Trivenna  Johnson- Baber .Three grandchildren De’Marco Palmore, Paige Palmore and Genesis Palmore of Westerville Ohio, a plethora of other relatives and wonderful friends.

She was preceded in death by her two grandmothers.  Sibyl was returned to her family for a private memorial service

“In my fathers house are many mansions if it were not so I would have told you I go to prepare a place for you . And if I go to prepare a place for you I will come again and receive you unto myself that where I am there ye may be also.

We love and miss you daughter, mom , grandmother and friend.

Annette Bruce

Annette Marie Bruce, 67, of Poplar Bluff, passed away on November 2, 2018 at her daughter’s home in Poplar Bluff, with her loving family at her side.

She was born on December 1, 1950 to Raymond Wojtowicz and Leona (Nering) Wojtowicz at St. Louis, MO

She was of the Catholic faith. She was a member of the Eagles and the American Legion. She enjoyed playing Bingo, doing home improvements, spending time with family and friends, dancing, doing puzzles and loved her grandchildren.

Annette is survived by two sons, Robert Kenneth(Tammy) Harwell, Jr., Jeffrey Michael (Patricia) Harwell; Daughter, Paula Marie(Kenny) Barker; mother, Leona Wojtowicz; two sisters, Deborah Thompson, Andrea Harris; brother, Steven Wojtowicz; two granddaughters, Allison Harwell, Alexis Harwell; two grandsons, Dennis McFadden, Brett McFadden; .

She was preceded in death by father, Raymond Wojtowicz.

Visitation will be held Monday, November 5, 2018, 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home 844 Cedar St. Poplar Bluff, MO with a dinner beginning at 5 pm at the Eagles 1400 South Broadway in Poplar Bluff.   There will then be a visitation Wednesday, November 7, 2018, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Campagna Funeral Home 45 N. W. Railroad St. Ashley, IL  followed by a graveside funeral at 1:30 pm at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Radom, IL with Pastor Cindy Bean officiating.
