Floyd Venable

Floyd Venable, 79  of Poplar Bluff passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at his residence.

He was born on May 2, 1938 in San Fernando Valley, California to the late Reaves and Cassie (Wilfong) Venable.

He was married to Lois (Hall) Venable in 1961,  she preceded him in death in 1995.  In 1997 he met his beloved Billie Jean she survives.

Also surviving is one sister Mary Jane Smith, two brothers  Leroy, and Howard Venable. Linda Rae Pipkins and JD Phipps whom he considered as his own children.  He had retired as a building painter.

Floyd enjoyed playing his guitar, listening to Johnny Cash music, traveling, and most of all getting together for family outings.

He was preceded in death by four sisters, Nadine Williams, Thelma Hall, Bertha Venable, Zetta Bruyere, by three brothers Paul, Reaves Jr., and Fred Venable.

Visitation will be held on Friday February 23, 2018 from 10:30 am till 11.30 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff.

Donald Oneal Teague

Donald Oneal Teague, 63 of Neelyville, passed away on February 18, 2018.

He was born on September 26, 1954 to James and Dora (Spearman) Teague at Harviell, MO. Donald worked as a Contractor.

He was a member of Agape House of Worship in Neelyville.

Donald is survived by his sons Darrick Teague Sr, Travis Buels, Daughter, Bianca Hitchock,Two Sisters, Gloria Steele, Beverly Stroman, Brother, Bobby Teague; Three Grandsons, Darrick Teague, Jr., Dominick Teague, Qwynton Rawls; Granddaughter, De-Asia Teague; Great-grandson, Donavan Teague.

He was preceded in death by Wife, Garnett Teague, Mother, Dora Teague, Father, James Ulysses Teague, brothers; Herman Teague, Freddie Teague, James Theodis Teague, Earl Teague; sisters, Shirley Jones, Helen Johnson and Janie Bowens; grandsons Jeremiah and Messiah Riggins,

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 24, 2018, 10:00 am at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018, 11:00 am at the Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO, with Pastor Darnell McComb officiating.
The family will be holding a prayer candle light vigil Friday, February 23, on C hwy near the accident sight and Rice trailer mfg.

Ellen Lorraine Trout

Ellen Lorraine Trout 61, of Poplar Bluff, departed this life on February 15, 2018 at her residence. She was born  December 21, 1956 in Chicago, Ill. She was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed playing bingo, having coffee with friends.

Ellen is survived by her mother Mary Hollis, two sons Mark A. King Jr. and Micheal Joe Harris. Sisters Linda Hanner, Deanna Diehl, and Debbie Kirby. Brothers, Kenny Bertholomey, and Delbert Bertholomey. One grandchild Parker King. She was preceded in death by her father Charles Bertholomey Sr. a sister Carolyn Meyers, and a brother Charles Bertholomey.

Visitation will be held Saturday Feb. 17, 2018 at 10am at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will  follow at 12 p.m. with Jeff Linson  officiating.  Burial will be at City Cemetery.

Matthew Easter

Matthew E. Easter, 75 of Poplar Bluff, passed away on February 13, 2018 at Westwood Hills Nursing Home.

He was born on July 15, 1942 at Poplar Bluff, MO.

Matthew is survived by his daughter, Fern Kay McClure; guardian, Linda Bosse of Poplar Bluff, MO; .

Visitation will be held Friday, February 16, 2018, 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018, 11:00 am at the Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO, with , officiating.

Burial will take place in Black Creek Cemetery.

Jennie May Davidson

Jennie May Davidson, 90 of Poplar Bluff passed away on Sunday Feb. 11, 2018 at the Mark Twain Caring Center in Poplar

 Bluff. She was born on April 24, 1927 to the late Ben and Salley (Conover) Stephens.

On August 6, 1946 she was united in marriage to David Davidson Sr. He preceded her in death on July 8, 1992.

She retired from Duckett Trucking Center, she was a faithful member of The North point Church Of The Nazarene in Poplar Bluff, where she had been a choir leader, church secretary, and worked with the World Missions Dept.

She is survived by her son David Davidson Jr. and wife Linda, a daughter Norma Butler. three sisters, Barbara Britton, Bessie Edwards, Sharon Welsh. One brother Neal Stephens. Many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren. a host of nieces and nephews also survive

She also leaves behind a special Brother-In-law Francis Miller.

She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Maisie Hendricks, Ella Lee Osborn, Jean Jones, Ester Miller. by two brothers, Charles Stephens, Albert Stephens.

Visitation will be from 6 til 8 pm on Monday Feb.12, 2018  at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, family and friends will gather at New Oak Hill Cemetery on Tuesday Feb.13, at 11 am for Graveside services with Pastor Greg Gilberto officating, internment will follow in the New Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mary Fears

Mary Alice Fears, 87 of Poplar Bluff, passed away on January 28, 2018 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

She was born on January 30, 1930 to the late Roscoe and Katie (Camp) Boyle at Naylor, MO. Mary worked as a checkout supervisor for K-Mart. On June 26, 1948 she married Leo at Piggott, AR.

She was a member of First Christian Church in Poplar Bluff. She worked in girl scouts for 14 years, city council with PTA and coached girls softball team..

Mary is survived by three Daughters, Katherine G Miller, Sheila (Keith) Montgomery Lana (Odie) Willis; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren,

She was preceded in death by Husband, Leo Fears, Father, Roscoe Boyle, Mother, Katie Boyle, one sister; 5 brothers and one son-in-law, Larry Miller.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 3, 2018, 1:00 pm at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 3, 2018, 2:00 pm at the Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO, with Pastor  Frank Chlastak officiating.

Burial will take place in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Gerald “Jerry ” Deal

Gerald “Jerry” Lee Deal, 84 of Poplar Bluff, passed away on January 28, 2018 at his home. He was born on April 29, 1933 to the late Lee and Alda (Vaughn) Deal at Poplar Bluff, MO. He was a member of Second Baptist Church. He was a contractor and a veteran of the United States Air Force 1951-1955. Jerry enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He married Mary Buffington at Poplar Bluff in 1951. She survives. Also surviving is Daughter, Teresa Smarr(Charles) of Columbia, MO; Grandson, Brian Smarr; .

He was preceded in death by Son, Gary Warren, Son, Curtis Deal, Father, Lee Deal, Mother, Alda Deal, Brother, Eugene Deal.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 1, 2018, 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2018, 1:00 pm at the Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff with Rev. Curtis Crowley officiating.

Burial will take place in the City Cemetery.

Charles Edward Bertholomey Jr.

Charles Edward Bertholomey, 62 of Poplar Bluff, passed away January 26, 2018 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

He was born on October 31, 1955 to Charles Bertholomey Sr. and Mary  Hollis at Chicago, IL. Charles was a truck driver. On December 3, 1995 he married Karen Powell in Poplar Bluff.

He enjoyed going to Rick’s to drink coffee, being with his grandchildren and carpentry work. He was of the baptist faith and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Grandin.

Charles is survived by his wife Karen, Son, Delbert Bertholomey; Step-Son, Darren Collins; Two Step-daughters, Amy Crider, Tina Lampston; his mother Mary Hollis, Four Sisters, Ellen Trout, Linda Kay Hanner, Dena Diehle, Debbie Kirby, Two Brothers, Kenneth Ray Bertholomey, Delbert Bertholomey; Eight Grandchildren, Eleven Great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by Father, Charles Bertholomey, Sr., Sister, Carolyn Sue Meyers.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 29, 2018, 11:00 am – 12:00 pm at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Monday, January 29, 2018, 12:00 pm at the City Cemetery with Ron Fowler officiating.

John Waligora Jr

John Louis Waligora Jr. 67 of Poplar Bluff passed away January 23,2018 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.  

Mr. Waligora was born March 14, 1950 in Milwaukee, WI to the late John Waligora Sr. and Mae (Rediski) Waligora.  He enjoyed woodworking, bowling and being with family.

On August 22, 1972 he married Patsy (Feverston) Waligora in Poplar Bluff.  She survives.  Also surviving are children; Heather Waligora, Charity Rains, honorary daughters; Ruby Hopper and Stephanie Yates,  sister, Sharon McClearn, Martha Marzahl, brother; Lyle Waligora, grandchildren; Zeth Michael Lindsay, and Faith Lindsay.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Barbara Chambers, Susan Ellis; brother, Leroy Demere.

There will be a burial of cremains 2pm February 10 at Marble Hill Cemetery in Butler County, with James Greer officiating.

Tammy Thurman, 51, of Poplar Bluff, passed away on January 22, 2018 at Poplar Bluff, MO.

She was born on January 11, 1967 at St. Louis, MO. She was an LPN. She was a member of a member of the Palace of Praise. She enjoyed her family, friends and her church.

She is survived by, Daughter, Ashley (James) Koonce; Two Sons, Parker Thurman, Johnathon Thurman; Two Grandsons, Damien Koonce, Dorian Koonce; Granddaughter, Draven Koonce; two special friends, Bert Mangrum, Amanda Eversole; Sister, Joy Jennings; Niece, Jody Bryant.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 25, 2018, 1:00 pm at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO.
