Richard Shelton

Richard Harvey Shelton, 66,of Poplar Bluff, formerly of Chicago, passed away on June 20, 2018 at his home.

He was born on January 26, 1952 to Joseph and Connie (Roberson) Shelton at Chicago, IL. He was a 1971 graduate of Poplar Bluff Senior High. He was a coin collector.

On July 6, 1974 he married Karen (Lonergan) Shelton. She survives. Also surviving are,two Daughters, Kimberly Dawn McBride, Nicolle Louise Frueh; two Granddaughters, Karissa McBride, Sammee Frueh; four Grandsons, Kiel McBride, Scott Frueh, Kameron McBride, Luke Frueh; two Brothers, Joseph Shelton, Gary Shelton; two Sisters, Sharron Nichols, Shirley Shelton.

He was preceded in death by Father, Joseph H Shelton, Mother, Connie Faye Shelton.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 26, 2018, 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, 1:00 pm at the Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO, with Rev. Donny Emmons, officiating.

Burial will take place in the Elder Cemetery in Malden, MO

Christal Dawn Gaddy Washington

Christal Dawn Gaddy Washington, 33, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., unexpectedly passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018 in St. Louis, Mo.
She was born May 19, 1985 to Larry Gaddy and Jo Beth Chotrow. She is survived by her father, Larry Gaddy;  two sons, Isaac Washington and Blake Pirtle. Her biological family includes: adoptive mother Ruth Ann Schaefer; siblings Fredrick Sparks, Richard Sparks, Mark Schaefer, Richard Schaefer, James Schaefer, Amber Schaefer,and Angela Schaefer.
She also is survived by her foster mother, Gloria Wilson, and foster siblings Jolan Brady, April Sharp, Jessica Ferguson, Nicole Moreno, and Ruth Kackley. Christal is also is survived by the Clark and Ronnie Garcia foster home and foster siblings Ruth Garcia, Amanda Fortenberry, Crystal Logan, Leah Webb, Desiree Ajanel , Aimee Adams and Mandi White.
She was blessed with many close friends including Daniel Smith and Heather Brannon Tooley. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, infectious personality and love for others.She enjoyed time with her loved ones swimming, fishing and going on trips. Christal was a organ donor, giving the gift of life to many people. She will forever be in our hearts.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2018 at Sacred Heart Cemetery, officiated by Deacon David Farris.     Donations may be made to  Fowler-Sullivan Funeral home 844 Cedar St. PO Box 1409 Poplar Bluff, MO  63901

Elizabeth Fox

Elizabeth A. Fox, 69, of Poplar Bluff, passed away on June 10, 2018 at her home in Poplar Bluff.

She was born on December 29, 1948 to Richard and Agnes (Godeos) Clouse at Sanoma, CA.

Elizabeth is survived by her Five Sons, Jeff Fox, Jerry Fox, Tim Fox, Carl Gene Fox, Richard Fox; husband, Carl Fox, Jr.; Sister, Christina Clouse; Brother, Gilbert(Butch) White; 25 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. She was also a loving mother to Chico.

She was preceded in death by Brother, Richard Clouse, Father, Richard Clouse, Sr., Mother, Agnes Clouse.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 14, 2018, 12:00 pm at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm with Jason Jordan officiating.

Burial will take place in the Pocca Hollow Cemetery in Van Buren.

In lieu of flowers family requests memorials to be made to any cancer organization.

Dolores Price

Dolores K Price, 82 passed away on June 9, 2018 at Oakdale Assisted Living in Poplar Bluff. Mrs. Price lived most of her life in Carter County. She moved to Butler County in the last five years.

She was born on July 25, 1935 to Ray and Willa (Kester) Yates at Chilton, MO. Dolores worked as a LPN Director of Nursing at River Mist Assisted Living for 15 years.

She attended Fellowship General Baptist Church.

Dolores is survived by children, Donald Price (Evelyn), Donna Price (Derek), Mike Price (Patty), Debra Price (Sam); Two Sisters, Wilma Gaines, Ida Kellogg (Ken); Brother, James Yates; nine grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren; 22 chosen grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by Husband, Willie Price, Father, Ray Yates, Mother, Willa Yates, Brother, Floyd Yates.

At the family request, visitation will be held Tuesday, June 12, 2018, 1:45 pm – 2:00 pm at Fellowship General Baptist Church with the service immediately following at 2pm with Rev. Byron Beck officiating.

Burial will take place in Pine Lawn Cemetery Ellsinore MO

The family requests in lieu of flowers memorials to Fellowship of Acceptance a spiritual drug addiction program through Fellowship General Baptist Church 3581 North Westwood Blvd.  Poplar Bluff MO 63901

Dorothy “Stout” Moore

Dorothy Elizabeth “Stout” Moore 92, Of Poplar Bluff, departed this life  June 5, 2018 at The Manor. She was born on February 16, 1926 in Poplar Bluff to the late David and Sarah Gower. She was a seamstress at Myatt’s Drapery and she enjoyed gardening, cooking, and canning. She was a member at Bluff City Apostolic Worship Center. She married Wilborn Stout; and he preceded her in death July 12, 1990. She married Arnold Moore; September 9, 1996. He preceded her in death May 21, 2013.

She is survived by 3 children; Darrell Stout and wife Karen, Valerie Kiefer and husband Dan, Sheila Smith and husband  Cevis. 19 grandchildren,  and numerous great, great grandchildren. She is also preceded in death by one daughter, Shirley Larmie,two sons David Stout and Nathan Stout.  Two sisters; Mary Hornbeck, and Rosetta Stucker. 3 brothers; James Henson, DJ Gower, and Albert Gower.

Visitation will be 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, at the Bluff City Apostolic Worship Center.  Funeral service will be at 11.00 A.m Friday June 8, at Bluff City Apostolic Center 200 Walnut St in Poplar Bluff. Pastor Jerry Williams will be officiating and Rev. Ted Elledge will be assisting. Burial will be in Kinsey Cemetery.

David Massey

David Massey, 71 of Poplar Bluff passed away June 4, 2018 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.  

He was born June 1, 1947 to the late Charles “Jim” and Carolyn “Betty” (Gullette) Massey.  He is survived by a brother Luke Massey, sisters; Leona Massey and Susan Rahm.

A memorial service will take place at a later date.

Sharon Rose Arnold

Sharon Rose Arnold 54, of Wappappello, Mo passed away on May 29, 2018 at her residence. She was born on June 22, 1963 at Eloy, Arizona to Charles and Carolyn Deaton. On May 1, 1994 she married Jerry Arnold. She was a homemaker and of christian faith. She loved her grandchildren, caring for others, reading, and loved raising her animals. She was also an Elvis fan. She passed away trying to save her 11 pets whom she cared for very much.

She is survived by her husband Jerry, her mother Carolyn, one daughter Misti Capps and husband Elijah, one sister Theresa Turpin, two brothers Charles A Deaton and Grady Deaton. Three grandchildren Morgan Hardin, Addisson Capps, and Malik Lane. Three nephews Matt, Josh, and Patrick. Her father Charles preceded her in death and one son Clay Kenneth Hardin Jr.

There will be a “Celebration Of Life”  Sunday June 10, from 2-4 at The Camp Wappappello, Mo.  In lue of flowers donation can be made to the humane society.

Henry Lee Mosbey

HENRY LEE MOSBEY    82 of Fisk Mo. departed this life on Tuesday May 22, 2018  at Poplar bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.  He was born on September 17, 1935 in Fisk to the late James Henry and Bessie Jane Mosbey.

On December 27, 1954 he was united in marriage to Bobbie (Johnson) Mosbey , she preceded him in death on July 7, 2013.

He retired from Continental Can Company . He was a veteran in the United States Air Force, having served in the Korean Conflict. He loved fishing, and watching St.Louis Cardinal Baseball.

Surviving are his children Neena Colter  and husband Bobby, Saunya Butler. One sister Mary Lee Berry, grandchildren Christina Ostrander and husband Dean, Dustin Le Allen Colter,  and four additional grandchildren, one great-grandchild Tyler James Munson.  His caregiver Catherine Fuller, and special companion Sally Laird.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son James Esker, two sisters Auda Bland, Lorene Hayes. four brothers, Kenneth, James, William (Bub) , and Clifford Mosbey.

At  Mr. Mosbey’s request no services will be held.

Lucille Bower

Lucille L. Bower, 92 of Dexter, passed away on May 15, 2018 at Southeast Health Center of Stoddard County.

She was born on October 14, 1925 in Council Bluffs, IA.

She was a member of Temple Baptist Church. She enjoyed being with her family, attending Church, gardening and the outdoors.

Mrs. Bower is survived by children; Barbara Garrett, David Bower, Patricia Bower, Kenneth Bower, Mildred Garrett, Robert Bower, Joann Drew, Cathy Meeks; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by Husband, Carl Bower.

A memorial service will be Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 1pm at Temple Baptist Church 1813 Barron Rd. Poplar Bluff, Mo 63901. Pastor Bryan Mays will officiate.
