Kenneth Daniel Davis

Kenneth Daniel Davis, 70 of Poplar Bluff departed this life on Feb.20, 2019 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. He was born on July 20, 1948 to the late George and Lillian Davis in Poplar Bluff. He retired from Rowe Furniture, he was a veteran having served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.

On Feb.5, 1972 he was united in marriage to Barbara (Jones) Davis she survives, also surviving are his children, Penny McGath and husband Rickey, Daniel Davis, Kenneth Davis and wife Robin. His grandchildren, Katelyn Jost, Molly McGath, Dara Davis, Fisher Davis, Braden Davis, Davis McGath, and one great-grandchild Emery Jost survive. four brothers George, John, Dennis, and Paul Davis one sister Ruth Whitmer also survive .

He was preceded in death by his parents, by one brother Clyde Davis, by one sister Verna Whitmer.

The family will plan a memorial service at a later date.

Bradley Sullivan

Monday, February 4th, 2019

Bradley Merlin Michael Sullivan, age 4 of Poplar Bluff Mo. departed this life on Friday Feb. 1, 2019 in Poplar Bluff. Bradley was born on March 6, 2014 in Poplar Bluff to Jeremy and Lisa Dobbs Sullivan. He was a student at Poplar Bluff Early Childhood. He enjoyed listening to music, watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, playing with his two brothers. Bradley was a ray of sunshine to everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his parents, two brothers, Drew and Jacob Sullivan. His grandmother Stella Sullivan, grandparents Rick and Tracy Dodds. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Christina and Scotty Bryeans, Tammy and Joe Deken, Kassie Schlagweiler, Bridgette and Ryan Sauls, DJ and Melanie Burkett, Damion Burkett. Cousins, Christopher, Zachary, Nicholas, and Joshua Deken, Colton, Jade and Bryeans, Patrick Sauls, Bradley and Owen Burkett.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Timothy Sullivan, a grandmother Beth Dobbs.

Visitiation will be at 11 a.m on Tuesday Feb.5, 2019 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m in the Fowler-Sullivan Chapel with Rev. James Greer officiating burial will follow in the City Cemetery.

Carmenlita Sells

Carmenlita Sells, 87 passed away on January 24, 2019 at Festus Manor Nursing Home.

She was born on July 10, 1931 to the late Ed and Etta (Luther) Berry at Kennett, MO.  She was married to Thomas (Jr) Sells son of the late Rev. Gene and Edna Sells on June 26, 1948.  He preceded her in death after 52 years of marriage.  She loved her family and friends. She liked to cook for them and make them laugh creating many happy memories.  She worked at various retail shops and was a hairdresser.  She was a member of First Baptist Church and also had attended Twin Springs Baptist Church, in Poplar Bluff.

Carmenlita is survived by Daughter, Sherry  Gosnell(Larry) of Sainte Genevieve, MO; Son, Rick Sells(Mary) of Poplar Bluff, MO; a special companion, Ted Gorman of Poplar Bluff; Two Sisters, Linda  Montgomery (Robert) of Poplar Bluff, MO, Carolyn Woodard(Phillip) of Warrensburg; brother-in-law, Paul Sells(Sue) of Poplar Bluff, MO; sister-in-law, Ruth Bauman(Glennon) of De Soto; Five Grandsons, Michael Scott (Kim), Sam Gosnell, Ryan Sells, Orlando Penrod (Anastasia), Anthony Gosnell; Two Granddaughters, Heather Schnitzler (Jason), Jessica Sells (Andy); Great-grandchildren, Tyler & Collin Gosnell, Rylan, Jase & Kolton Sells, Cole, Will, Max, Lane & Reese Schnitzler, Lexi, Gracie, Raigan, Kale Caudel, Olivia  Penrod, Brandon & Karly Scott.  Great-great-grandchild Karmi Caudel.

She was preceded in death by Husband, Thomas (Jr) Sells, Son, Stephen Sells, Father, Ed Berry, Mother, Etta Berry, Brother, Marrel Berry, Sister, Joyce Miller.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 2, 2019, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO.
    

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019, 1:00 pm at the Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO, with Dale Stringer officiating.

Burial will take place in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Kenneth Ray Franklin

Kenneth Ray Franklin , 70 of Poplar Bluff departed this life on Jan.12, 2019 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau Mo. He was born on September 29, 1948 to the late Lional and Mildred Franklin. On March 1, 1969 he was united in marriage to Brenda (Alexander) Franklin, she survives.

He was a veteran of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He retired after 27 years of service at the John J Pershing VA Medical center as chief of S And D. He loved wood working, being out doors. He was a member of the South Poplar Bluff General Baptist Church.

Besides his wife he is survived by his children, Mickey Griffin and husband James, Christopher Franklin and wife Carrie, Kevin Franklin and wife Tricia. His grandchildren, Jamie House, Christen Young, Sara Henson, Kaitlyn Lamkin, Ashley Franklin, Allison Franklin, Madigan Franklin, Cruz Franklin. Eight Great-granchildren, one brother Donald Franklin and wife Mary Jo, One sister Debbie Wells and husband David.

Visitation will be Wednesday Jan.16 being at 11:30 a.m. in the Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 12:30 pm. at the funeral home with Pastor Rick White officiating, burial will follow in the Mo. Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Irene Hager

Irene Inez Hager, 96 of Van Buren, passed away on January 7, 2019 at the River Way Manor in Van Buren MO

She was born on September 10, 1922 to Arch and Minnie (Bollinger) Hester at Poplar Bluff, MO. On November 10, 1945 she married Harold Hager in Butler County. They enjoyed 69 years of marriage. He preceded her in death March 22, 2015.

She was a long time member of Trinity Baptist Church.

She is survived by two Sons, Roger Hager (Regina) of Poplar Bluff, Steve Hager (Becky) of Van Buren, MO; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by husband, Harold Hager, Father, Arch Hester, Mother, Minnie Hester, Brother, Buddy Hester, Sister, Pearl Thomas, and Sister Ethel Stone.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 10, 2019, 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2019, 2:00 pm at the Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO, with Rev. Von Kirkman and Rev. Don Hutto officiating.

Burial will take place in the Cochran Cemetery.

Gayle “Edward”Garrett

Gayle “Edward” Garrett, 71 of Poplar Bluff, Mo., departed this life Friday Jan. 4, 2019 at John J Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff. He was born on Dec. 4, 1947 in Poplar Bluff to the late Glen and Helen Nichols Garrett. Mr. Garrett was a U.S Marine having served during the Vietnam War. He retired as a crew car driver for the railroad and loved hunting, collecting guns, and watching sports on TV.

Mr. Garrett i s survived by his lifetime partner of 31 years: Sharon, children Gina Russom and husband Gene, Dillon Garrett, step-daughter; Kimberly Johnson and husband Jimmy, brother; Glendol Garrett and wife Judy, grandchildren; Travis and wife Maddie, Austin and wife Jessica, Dustin ,Christina and husband Jesse, and Wyatt,, and great-grandchildren; T J. Jace, Wade, Logan, Renesmee and one on the way Ryker. one nephew Dale Garrett and wife Mindy, one niece Sheila Early. He was preceded in death by his parents one sister Jill Tinsley.

Visitation will be at 11 a.m on Tuesday Dec. 8th, 2019 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. in the Black River Cemetery with Ron Fowler officiating. with full military rites.

Donald Watson

Donald Wayne Watson, 73, of Poplar Bluff, passed away on January 3, 2019 at his residence. He was born on August 12, 1945 to Christopher and Francis (Earnhart) Watson at Paragould, Arkansas. He was retired from General Motors after 31 years. On August 12, 1964 he married Brenda Zook at East Prairie MO.
He was a member of Member of UAW his wife Brenda is a member of The Palace Of Praise Church in Poplar Bluff.

Donald is survived by his loving spouse Brenda, Daughter, Donna Kay Watson; Son, Steven Watson (Amanda); Two Brothers, Tom Watson, Marion Watson; . 11 grandchildren, 1 step-grandchild, and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by brothers; Walter and Bobby Watson, Father, Christopher Watson, Mother, Francis Watson.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 7, 2019, 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO. Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Bishop Kent Miller officiating.

Burial will take place in the City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to St. Jude Children’s Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105

Calvin “Eddie”Robertson

Calvin “Eddie”Robertson  76, of Poplar Bluff departed this life on Tuesday Dec. 11, 2018 in Poplar Bluff.  He was born on Aug. 26, 1942 to the late Calvin A Robertson and Alberta P Nunn.  On March 18, 1967 he married Joan E (Harvill) Robertson in Florence Alabama she survives. He was a lineman for 15 years, A dump truck owner for 37 years, he attended Agee Community Church, was a member of the Elks and American Legion. He loved to joke and tease have fun with people. During the winter time he and Joan loved going to South Texas, where they made many friends. Calvin loved watching TV programs, music and dancing, loved NASCAR racing, he was a stock car driver.   Along with his wife, he is survived by his children, Calvin D, Gregory and Michael Robertson. His grandchildren Nick and Anna Robertson, Jason Jennings, Michelle Webb. Great-grandchildern Addison, Aiden and Adeleigh Robertson. One brother Chuck Robertson,  two sisters Eugenia (Jeanie) Warren, Janet Vinson.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Keith Robertson.

Visitiation will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday Dec.15, 2018 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 12 noon at the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Adam Mathias officiating,  internment will follow in the Sparkman Cemetery.

Jerry Duane Hodge

Jerry Duane Hodge, 77 of Poplar Bluff departed this life on Friday Dec.7, 2018 at his residence. He was born July 17, 1941 to the late Benjamin and Anna Mae Hodge in Poplar Bluff Mo. On June 30, 1963 he married Ann (Flatt) Hodge, she survives. He was of the Baptist faith. He retired as manager of Ozark Golf Course.  He loved playing golf, fishing, he was and avid St.Louis Cardinal fan and loved all sports. Surviving are his children Amanda Ormsby and husband Dwayne, Carlo Lee Luecke and husband Eric, Jeff Hodge and wife Sharon.Grandchildren Molly Mae Ormsby (Jake) Jenna, John Karl, James Luecke, Jeffery, Kyle, Ryan, and Amber Hodge. two Great-grandchildren, an several nieces and nephews also survive.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by five sisters, Mildred, Edith, Norma Jean, Donna, Wanda Mae, by six brothers, Benjamin, Bill, Charles, Jim, Virgil, Aaron.

Visitiation will begin on Tuesday Dec.11, 2018 at 11 am at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 1 pm in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Poplar bluff.
