Dorothy “Stout” Moore

Dorothy Elizabeth “Stout” Moore 92, Of Poplar Bluff, departed this life  June 5, 2018 at The Manor. She was born on February 16, 1926 in Poplar Bluff to the late David and Sarah Gower. She was a seamstress at Myatt’s Drapery and she enjoyed gardening, cooking, and canning. She was a member at Bluff City Apostolic Worship Center. She married Wilborn Stout; and he preceded her in death July 12, 1990. She married Arnold Moore; September 9, 1996. He preceded her in death May 21, 2013.

She is survived by 3 children; Darrell Stout and wife Karen, Valerie Kiefer and husband Dan, Sheila Smith and husband  Cevis. 19 grandchildren,  and numerous great, great grandchildren. She is also preceded in death by one daughter, Shirley Larmie,two sons David Stout and Nathan Stout.  Two sisters; Mary Hornbeck, and Rosetta Stucker. 3 brothers; James Henson, DJ Gower, and Albert Gower.

Visitation will be 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, at the Bluff City Apostolic Worship Center.  Funeral service will be at 11.00 A.m Friday June 8, at Bluff City Apostolic Center 200 Walnut St in Poplar Bluff. Pastor Jerry Williams will be officiating and Rev. Ted Elledge will be assisting. Burial will be in Kinsey Cemetery.

David Massey

David Massey, 71 of Poplar Bluff passed away June 4, 2018 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.  

He was born June 1, 1947 to the late Charles “Jim” and Carolyn “Betty” (Gullette) Massey.  He is survived by a brother Luke Massey, sisters; Leona Massey and Susan Rahm.

A memorial service will take place at a later date.

Sharon Rose Arnold

Sharon Rose Arnold 54, of Wappappello, Mo passed away on May 29, 2018 at her residence. She was born on June 22, 1963 at Eloy, Arizona to Charles and Carolyn Deaton. On May 1, 1994 she married Jerry Arnold. She was a homemaker and of christian faith. She loved her grandchildren, caring for others, reading, and loved raising her animals. She was also an Elvis fan. She passed away trying to save her 11 pets whom she cared for very much.

She is survived by her husband Jerry, her mother Carolyn, one daughter Misti Capps and husband Elijah, one sister Theresa Turpin, two brothers Charles A Deaton and Grady Deaton. Three grandchildren Morgan Hardin, Addisson Capps, and Malik Lane. Three nephews Matt, Josh, and Patrick. Her father Charles preceded her in death and one son Clay Kenneth Hardin Jr.

There will be a “Celebration Of Life”  Sunday June 10, from 2-4 at The Camp Wappappello, Mo.  In lue of flowers donation can be made to the humane society.

Henry Lee Mosbey

HENRY LEE MOSBEY    82 of Fisk Mo. departed this life on Tuesday May 22, 2018  at Poplar bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.  He was born on September 17, 1935 in Fisk to the late James Henry and Bessie Jane Mosbey.

On December 27, 1954 he was united in marriage to Bobbie (Johnson) Mosbey , she preceded him in death on July 7, 2013.

He retired from Continental Can Company . He was a veteran in the United States Air Force, having served in the Korean Conflict. He loved fishing, and watching St.Louis Cardinal Baseball.

Surviving are his children Neena Colter  and husband Bobby, Saunya Butler. One sister Mary Lee Berry, grandchildren Christina Ostrander and husband Dean, Dustin Le Allen Colter,  and four additional grandchildren, one great-grandchild Tyler James Munson.  His caregiver Catherine Fuller, and special companion Sally Laird.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son James Esker, two sisters Auda Bland, Lorene Hayes. four brothers, Kenneth, James, William (Bub) , and Clifford Mosbey.

At  Mr. Mosbey’s request no services will be held.

Lucille Bower

Lucille L. Bower, 92 of Dexter, passed away on May 15, 2018 at Southeast Health Center of Stoddard County.

She was born on October 14, 1925 in Council Bluffs, IA.

She was a member of Temple Baptist Church. She enjoyed being with her family, attending Church, gardening and the outdoors.

Mrs. Bower is survived by children; Barbara Garrett, David Bower, Patricia Bower, Kenneth Bower, Mildred Garrett, Robert Bower, Joann Drew, Cathy Meeks; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by Husband, Carl Bower.

A memorial service will be Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 1pm at Temple Baptist Church 1813 Barron Rd. Poplar Bluff, Mo 63901. Pastor Bryan Mays will officiate.

Audrey Harmon

Audrey Harmon passed away on May 9, 2018 at Mark Twain Nursing Home in Poplar Bluff, Mo with her family surrounding her.  She was born on June 27, 1927 in Yorkshire England to Thomas and Lucy Smith.

Audrey grew up in Yorkshire and Hinckley England.  After school she joined the Women’s Land Army in England. She was employed for many years with Safeway And Key Rexall in Poplar Bluff.

Audrey married Tommie R. Hurt in Hinckley England. They were happily married for eight years, until the time of his death in 1953.  In 1966 she married Burley Harmon; he preceded her in death in 1994.

Audrey was a member of Fellowship General Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, working in her garden and watching hummingbirds.  She also loved a good cup of tea and biscuit with friends and family.

Audrey is survived by her son John Hurt (Connie) of Fairdealing; daughter Elizabeth Church (Steve) of Post Falls Idaho; Edith Armor (Jack) of Poplar Bluff; Dezra Kerntz of Newark Ohio; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two great- great grandchildren and many special friends.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Lucy Smith, two brothers Leslie and John and sister Dorothy Wyant and son-in-law Joe Kerntz.

A memorial visitation will be at 10 a.m. on May 17, followed by a memorial service  at 11 a.m. at Fellowship General Baptist  Church.  Family will have a private internment at the City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Alzhemimer’s Foundation Of America.

Michael Gulledge Morlan

Michael L. Gulledge Morlan 59 of Poplar Bluff , formerly of Little Rock, Ark went to be with his heavenly Father Sunday April 29, 2018. He lost his battle with pancreatic cancer with his family surrounding him. His brother was his caregiver.

Michael was born Oct 11, 1958 to Sonny and Pearl Gulledge in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Before moving back to Poplar Bluff He had resided in Little Rock, Ark for over 35 years. Michael worked at Saint Vincent’s Hospital as a critical Care Tech for many years. At one time in addition to working at Saint Vincent’s he also worked at the “Heart Hospital” in Little Rock. He was well liked- by his co-workers and the Doctors. The Doctors would say ” I want Michael to take care of my patients”. One of the highlights at working at Saint Vincent’s Hospital  was to meet President Bill Clinton and Hillary. Hillary’s father Hugh E. Rodham was a patient of Michael’s. Michael said Hillary and the family was very nice. Michael attended Poplar Bluff Schools, attended Baptist Church in Little rock, was of the Baptist faith.

Michael was on a bowling league with his fellow co-workers. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his dog Cidney, helping people, and music. He loved visiting Arizona and had a passion for decorating with South-West Decor. He loved the outdoors.

Surviving is his husband Guy Lester Morlan. They had been together for 23 years and married for 5.  Also surviving his mother Pearl Gulledge, one sister Pam Berry, one brother Joseph B. Gulledge, his little dog Cidney, all of Poplar Bluff. His father Sonny Gulledge preceded him in death on March 9, 2001.

Vistation will be Thursday May 3, 2018 at 12 P.M. at Fowler- Sullivan Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2 P.M. in the funeral home chapel. Internment will be at Ash Hill Cemetery at Fisk, MO.

James T. Willis

James T. Willis, 78 of Poplar Bluff, passed away April 25, 2018 at Poplar Bluff, MO.

He was born on April 12, 1939 to the late Eugene and Cladie (Warren) Willis in TN. James had worked as a fork lift operator. He enjoyed bowling, collecting records, fishing and working on old cars.

James is survived by his wife Shirley, daughter, Cheryl Garcia and husband Carlos; sisters, Linda Davis, Judy Mulenex; brothers, Jerry, Bill, Robert, and Don Willis; Grandsons, Carlos Garcia, Jr. Percy Garcia; Granddaughter, Charlotte Mayse; Great-granddaughter, Cali’ann Mayse; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 2, 2018, 1:00 pm – 1:30 pm at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO.

A GRAVESIDE ceremony will begin at 2:00 pm at Kinsey Cemetery with William Hillis officiating.

Douglas Redwine

Douglas Redwine, 55, of Poplar Bluff, passed away on April 25, 2018 at his home.

He was born on December 18, 1962 to Bill and Lee (Switzer) Groves at Denver, CO. Douglas worked as a Die-caster for Briggs and Stratton. On June 30, 2012 he married Edith in Poplar Bluff.

He was a member of a member of American Legion Post 1000. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He enjoyed wood working, fishing and working on automobiles. He was a member of Westwood Baptist Church.
On June 30, 2012 he married Edith in Poplar Bluff, she survives. Also surviving are; Mother Lee Groves, Step-Father, Don Groves; 2 Daughters, Nicole Miller, Britt Yates; Son, Nathan Hastings; Two Sisters, Debbie Davis, Tammy Lloyd; Brother, Roger Redwine; Granddaughter, Paris; Grandson, Rome.

He was preceded in death by Father, Bill Redwine.

Visitation will be held Sunday, April 29, 2018, 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 29, 2018, 3:00 pm at the Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO, with Rev. Tim Freeman Jr., officiating.

Lowell Wheeler

Lowell W Wheeler, 77 of Poplar Bluff, passed away on April 24, 2018 at the Poplar Bluff, MO.

He was born on December 19, 1940 to the late Elmer and Frances (Kidd) Wheeler at Doniphan, MO. He had worked as a machinist and owned his own auto dealership for many years. He enjoyed gardening and taking care of animals.
He was of the Baptist faith.

On June 27, 1959 he married Jeanie Burris at Poplar Bluff, she survives. Also surviving is; daughter, Rhonda (Jerry) Williams; Grandson, Dustin (Ellyn) Williams; Granddaughter, Lindsey (Joe) Shannon; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by Father, Elmer Wheeler, Mother, Frances Wheeler, two brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 26, 2018, 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2018, 1:00 pm at the Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO, with Rev. Jerry Williams officiating.

Burial will take place in the City Cemetery.
