Brenda Fox

Brenda Sue Fox, 62, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., went to be with Jesus, Sunday, August 3, 2014, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Fox was born November 22, 1951 in Poplar Bluff. She was a lifetime resident of Butler County and attended Grace Christian Fellowship and Midland Church. She was a devoted employee at the Butler County Courthouse for 28 years, and held the position as Butler Country Collector since she was elected in 1998. Brenda enjoyed reading her Bible, cooking, shopping and being with her family.

On April 12, 1970, she married Charles Fox in Poplar Bluff. He survives. Also surviving are her children, Jerry Dale Fox and wife, Paula, Kristy Dawn Smith and husband, Matt; her mother Liddle (Johnson) Wilkerson; two sisters, Mary Cozetta Vinson and Ruby Porch; three brothers, Tommy and Leon Summerlott and Ricky Brown; eight grandchildren, Jerrica and Julia Fox, Matthew and Kaylee Smith, Jessica Jarrell, Chelsey King, and Kylly and Storm Jay. Brenda is also survived by a host of friends. She dearly loved all who live in Butler County.She was preceded in death by her father, John Summerlott; three sisters, Christine McIrvin, Patricia Taylor, and Justine Brown; two brothers, Ronnie and Junior Summerlott.

Visitation will begin at 12p.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff, followed by funeral services at 2p.m. The Rev. Brian Sharp, Pastor Paul White and Bishop Ron Webb will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens.
