Charles Lee Forister, 69, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away April 3, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Forister was born July 28, 1945, in Poplar Bluff. He graduated from Poplar Bluff High in 1961, attended Arkansas State University and Gradwohl School of Laboratory Technique. He was employed as a medical technologist until his retirement in 2002. He was a member of the First Christian Church, The Poplar Bluff York Rite, Masonic and Elks Lodge. He was a talented musician, who as a young man played lead and bass guitar in several area bands. Later in life he enjoyed painting in the medium of watercolor. He spent many happy hours in antique and flea markets searching for treasures of the past. He especially enjoyed collecting and restoring antique toys. He also maintained a photographic history of Poplar Bluff and Butler County. On June 3, 1967 he married LuWanna Lynch, in Poplar Bluff. She survives. Also surviving are his mother, Syble (Casey) Emerson; brother-in-law, Gaylon Lynch; 2 step-sisters, Judy (Jim) Carman and Theresa Emerson, both of Springfield, Mo. He was preceded in death by his father, LeRoy Forister; step-father, Loyd Emerson; mother and father-in-law, Thomas and Arushia Lynch and a brother-in-law, Bruce Lynch. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday April 7, 2015 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. A Masonic service will begin at 2 p.m. with the funeral service to follow. Rev. Jeffery Hammonds will officiate. Burial will be in the City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Christian Church 1601 North Main St. Poplar Bluff, MO 63901
