Charles A. Hodge, 85, of Poplar Bluff passed away at the home of his daughter, Jacqulyn Barks on November 21, 2014.
Mr. Hodge was of the Baptist faith and in his early years pastored several church's in this area. He was retired and was the owner of Poplar Bluff Upholstery, for several years. He was a member of the SEMO Veterans Honor Guard since his retirement from the Missouri National Guard.
He is survived by 5 daughters, Elizabeth Westerfield, of Paducah, KY, Diana Scott, Sharon Haley, Deborah Barks and Jacqulyn Barks all of Poplar Bluff; 1 brother, Jerry Hodge of Poplar Bluff, 10 grandchildren; 31 great- grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
Mr. Hodge is preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Anna Hodge, 4 brothers; Benjamin, Bill, James and Virgil Hodge; 4 sisters; Mildred Porch, Edith Parshall, Norma Jean Hawkins, and Donna Kay Goins.
On this day we are sad but celebrate the life of our father, husband, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather. He was a friend to all that met him and knew him. We are proud to call him dad and that our Heavenly Father is holding him in His arms for eternity.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 29, 2014 noon to 1pm with the funeral service at 1pm in the Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home chapel; 844 Cedar St. Poplar Bluff. Rev. Rowdy Boyer will officiate. Interment will be in Berger Cemetery, Oglesville, MO (also known as Carola Cemetery)
