Visitation for Mr. Brooks will be after 6 p.m. Monday, December 20, 2010. Funeral service held at 1 p.m. Tues. December 21, 2010 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff. Rev. Keith Luke will officiate, Burial at Brown Chapel Cemetery at Broseley.
David Brooks, 48, of Poplar Bluff, passed away December 18, 2010 at his residence. He was born April 11, 1962. He formerly lived in Ripley County and was employed by the Butler Co. Highway Department. He loved old cars, hunting and motorcycles.
On September 15, 1978 he married Dee "Bishop" Brooks in Poplar Bluff. She survives.
Mr. Brooks is survived by a daughter Shanna Denise Luke and husband Gary of Poplar Bluff, his father Sony Baccus and step-mother Barbara Baccus of Fairdealing; step-father Doyle Switzer of Poplar Bluff; his mother-in-law Patsy Cole and father-in-law Jimmie Bishop; Sisters Rhonda Dye and her husband , Wayne of Naylor and Stephanie Hogan of Naylor; one brother Allen Baccus and wife , Gena of Neelyville; three sister-in-laws Dawn Bishop and Debbie Hammer of Poplar Bluff, and Diane Kefier, Williamsville. Also surviving brother-in-law Michael Bishop of Eminence, Mo., one grandchild Mercedys Waite; and several nieces and nephews survive.
Preceding him in death are his mother Veda Hesselrode, brothers Dewayne Brooks and Lyle Baccus.
