DEWAYNE SCOTT Obituary


Memorial services for Dewayne Scott will be held 6-8PM Thursday March 10, 2011 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home; 844 Cedar Street Poplar Bluff, MO

Dewayne Scott, completed his battle with cancer on March 7, 2011. He fought his battle with resilience, courage and grace. He was in inspiration and friend to many. Dewayne, the son of Dallas Scott and Hazel Decker; born in Ellington MO in 1947. He resided in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Dewayne was a member of the United States Army from 1966-1968, serving in the Vietnam Conflict. Dewayne married Diana Hodge in 1969 and were married for 22 years. Dewayne worked for the Poplar Bluff Street Department for 28 years; retiring in 2002. Dewayne was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was at peace in the solitude of nature. Dewayne is survived by his two children; Dallas Dewayne Scott of Poplar Bluff and Dana Ann Scott of Republic, MO ; Jennifer Skidmore of Republic, MO His three grandchildren; Trenton Scott, Paetra Scott, and Jaxon Skidmore. Also survived by three sisters; Janet Chapman, Sharon Mullins and husband Jim Bob and Brenda Scott; his mother Hazel Smith and his former wife Diana Scott.

He is preceded in death by a sister; Carolyn Macom and his father; Dallas Scott.

The family wants to thank all of the special individuals who touched his life and offered support through this difficult time.
