Edwin Floyd Wheat, 69, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Thursday, March 5, 2015 at his home.
Mr. Wheat was born November 6, 1945 in St. Louis, Mo. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He was a member of the Elks for 20 plus years. He was an industrial salesman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf and antique coins.
On November 6, 1986 he married Shirley Wheat in Poplar Bluff. She survives
Also surviving is one son, Eric Wheat and wife, Christine; one stepson, Guy Tower and stepdaughter, Pam Shulse and husband, Gene; five grandchildren, Matthew and Gabrielle Wheat, Laura Squires, Tyler Shulse and Johnathan Tower; as well as 2 great-grandchildren, Luke and Maxwell Squires.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Allen Wheat and Lucille (Crider) Wheat; two sisters, Doris Wilson-Treece and Louise (Snooter) Barber; and one brother, Harry Leonard Wheat.
Visitation will begin at 2:30 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2015 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff with the funeral beginning at 3 p.m. Bill Wheat will officiate. Burial will be in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery with full military rites.
