Edwin Winters, 94, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Monday, May 4, 2015 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Winters was born March 17, 1921 in Glenallen, Mo. to the late Arthur Sylvester Winters and Anna Belle (Myers) Winters.
He was a previous resident of Lutesville, Mo. and of Michigan. He served in the Navy Seabee during WWII and Iwo Jima. He was a pipefitter and steel worker in Michigan and was a member of the American Legion, Eagles and VFW in Michigan and Lutesville. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.
On January 26, 1947 he married Thelda (Link) Winters. She precedes him in death.
Survivors include his daughters, Karen Stage and Carole Becker; 3 grandchildren, Michelle Smith, Brian J. Becker and Amy Lynn Winters; as well as one great-granddaughter, Bailey Nichole Smith.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son, Sterling Howard Winters and sister, Mildred Edith Palmeri.
A visitation will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2015 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff followed by a graveside funeral service at 1 p.m. in the Walker Cemetery, Bloomfield, Mo.
