Eleanor Jane DeWitt of Poplar Bluff, passed away April 14, 2012, at her home. She was 76. Mrs. DeWitt was born July 17, 1935 in Alma, Michigan.
A former resident of Michigan, she had lived in Butler County since 1982. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She retired from The Cedargate, as a cook. She loved her family and enjoyed being with them.
She is survived by her six children, John DeWitt of Cheyanne Wells, Colorado, Jason DeWitt and wife, Cindy, of Dexter, Jerry DeWitt and wife, Melissa of Poplar Bluff, Jeff DeWitt and wife, Tami of Poplar Bluff, Jana Langley of Poplar Bluff and Joletta Riddle and husband, Tim of Poplar Bluff; 15 grandchildren, Kyle, Rochelle, Brianna, Katelyn, Kristi, Keagen, Zarek, Amanda, Corey, Jacob, Wayne, Charles, Taeylar, Colten and Elexis and 9 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, A.J. and Rosella Robertson; and one brother, James Cox.
Visitation for Mrs. DeWitt will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar Street, Poplar Bluff, Mo. Graveside services will follow at 11 a.m. at Black Creek Cemetery, Poplar Bluff, with Pastor Gene Riddle officiating.
