Euniceteen Harrison Obituary


Euniceteen Harper Harrison, 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 24, 2015, after a full, memorable life.

She was born June 7, 1923, on a farm in Ripley County, Mo., in the Mill Creek community. Her parents were Joseph Allen and Elsie Patterson Harper.

After graduating high school in 1941, she attended Memphis State College. Though Traveler Aid and the USO, she began a lifetime of volunteer service.

She moved to Little Rock, Ark. in 1943. She married Edward A. Glass and began working at Gus Blass Co. He died in 1960. She completed her accounting degree and became an internal auditor for Jacuzzi Brother Inc. until 1975.

She married Maj. Lilburn C. Harrison in 1970. He preceded her in death in 1982. Though the years, she spent thousands of volunteer hours with the American Legion Auxilary, Altrusa International, Heifer International, and any organization needing volunteers. She received numerous awards and honors.

Upon moving to the Missouri farm in 2006, she continued volunteer service and was honored as Ripley County Citizen of the Year in 2010.

Preceding her in death were both husbands; her parents; her brother, Joseph McKinley Harper; a sister, Gwendolyn (Harper) Benn; and a nephew, Robert Allen Benn. She is survived by a great-niece, Robin Enfinger (Fred); a great-nephew, William Benn (Sarah); three great-great-nephews, Austin, Logan, and Evan Enfinger, all of Virginia; and many dear friends.

She was a member of Tucker United Methodist Church.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Doniphan United Methodist Church. Bro. Jerry Reynolds will officiate.

Memorial Donations may be made to a charity of choice, as Euniceteen had many near and dear to her heart.

Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel of Neelyville is in charge of arrangements.

The family would like to sincerely thank Mary Scott for her steadfast support and friendship, and Ron and Rose Brooks for bringing Euniceteen to live with them in their home where they gave her around the clock care in her final days.
