Frank Smody, 95 of Neelyville, Missouri, left this world January 1, 2012 at his residence. He was born December 10, 1916 at Hiawatha, Utah to the late, Frank Smody Sr. and Evka Pajnic Smody.
On May 3, 1952 at Harviell, Missouri, He was married to Thelma Jane Chatman. She preceded him in death on January 23, 1999.
He is survived by; Two Sons, Frank Sidney Smody and wife Faye of Neelyville, Missouri and Michael S. Smody and wife Pat of Neelyville, Missouri. One Daughter: Jana Smody Boyd and husband George III of Springfield, Missouri.
Grandchildren: Kari Smody Bradley, Shawn Smody and wife Sonja, Eva Smody Eagan and husband Darian , Frank Skyler Smody and wife Michelle, Jordan Boyd, and George Boyd IV. Two great grandchildren, Shane Smody and Cash Eagan.
He was preceded in death by his parents Frank Smody Sr. and Evka Pajnic Smody as well as one grandson Steven Smody II in January 1997, one Sister Ollie Smody Cornell, one brother Charles Smody.
In 1974 He retired as a machine operator and mechanic from M and A Electric Company. He served in the United States Army Air corp from November 1942 til January 1946. While in the service he completed Aerial Gunnry school in Arizona and completed air craft mechanic school at Fort Sumner, New Mexico. He also earned his AAF Air Crew Member Badge (Wings) Gunner. He was also a B-17 crew chief. In 1951 He completed diesel engine operator and mechanic training.
Mr. Smody enjoyed fishing and playing baseball with all the kids. He was member of the Harviell Baptist Church and was baptized March 27, 1960.
Visitation for Mr. Smody will be Friday January 6, 2012 starting at 6:00 p.m. in the Neelyville Chapel with the Funeral at 10:30 am January 7, 2012 in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel at Neelyville, Missouri. Burial will be in the Dunning Cemetery with Pastor Tommy Knodell officiating.
