George Standeford

George Robert Standefordof Poplar Bluff, Mo. passed away Wednesday September 28, 2011 at the age of 80. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30. 2011 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home. Burial in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Ellsinore, Mo. with Randy Robinson officiating.

Mr. Standeford was born January 20, 1931 to parents Charles and Gladys (Holmes) Standeford in Hume, Mo. He had formerly lived in Vaneta Oregon and Dexter, Mo. and worked as a clerk for a hardware store. He loved St. Louis Cardinal Baseball.

On May 8, 1954 he was united in marriage to Ora Lee (Dunlap) Standeford in Eugene, Oregon. She preceded him in death on January 24, 2011.

His survivors include children, Robin Robinson and husband Randy of Dexter, Sherry Vance, Tony Standeford, Robert Standeford, Gary Standeford all of Poplar Bluff, Tim Standeford, Veneta Ore., Merlin Standeford, Veneta, Ore.; brothers Charles Standeford and Fred Standeford both of Veneta Oregon; grandchildren Mindy Thurlkill, James Robinson, Tony Standeford, Coleena Standeford, Austin Standeford, Joshua Standeford, Chris Standeford, Chasy Standeford, Cory Standeford, Andrew Standeford, Melissa Unrein, Lindsey Vance, Stephanie Davis, and Kelsey Vance. Twelve great-grandchildren also survive.

Mr. Standeford is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Gladys Standeford, one son Rodney Standeford and sister Ruby Hodgin.
