George Paul Tomsic,88, of Harvielle, Mo., formerly of Chicago, IL., died March 28, 2015 at his residence.
Mr. Tomsic was born Jan. 25, 1927 in Chicago, IL. He worked as a PBX Installer for the telephone company. His hobbies included wood working, reading, gardening, and flowers. He has been a resident of Butler Co. for 10 years. He also served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as well as serving in the Philippines.
On May 8, 1970 he married Diane Dixon in Elmhurst, IL. She preceded him in death on Feb. 19, 2011 in Hayti, Mo.
Survivors include his children, Robert Henson of Hanovar Park, IL., Rhonda Harter and companion Brian, of Doniphan, Mo., Frank Tomsic of Desplains, IL.; one sister, Eve Tomsic of Dunwoody, GA.; one brother, Steve Tomsic of New Hampshire; four grandchildren, Conner and Evan Tomsic and Shiann and Katie; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife, also preceding him in death are his parents, George Tomsic and Therese Papin Tomsic; one sister, Frances Jankowski; two brothers, Frank C. Tomsic, and Cyril M. Tomsic.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 3, 2015 at Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 3:00 p.m. at Bloomfield Veterans Cemetery with Pastor Keith Gorda officiating.
