Georgia Mae Rice, 84, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away October 28, 2017 at her home. She was born April 20, 1933 at Delaplaine, Arkansas to the late George Dewey Graham and Willie Street Graham. On July 29, 1957 at Corning, Arkansas, she was married to Harrel Rice. He preceded her in death on March 6, 2008.
She is survived by; four children; Kevin Gray and wife Patty, Alisa Woolard and husband Gary, Sean Rice, and Joy Cookson and husband Steve. Two sisters; Virginia Slayton, and Phyllis Carter and husband Gary as well as two brothers; Carroll Graham and wife Diane, and Bill Graham. 11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother, Thelma Graham, one sister; Elsa Thoemen and one brother; Russell Graham.
Mrs. Rice had served the Lord since the age of nine years old. One of her greatest passions was reading her bible. She sang for years in a gospel group and was a avid crossword puzzle worker and reader.
She loved her children and grandchildren more than her own life and was the best mother and grandmother to us all.
She graduated from the Delaplaine high school in 1950 as Valedictorian, then graduated from Barnes Jewish School of Nursing in 1954 and worked as a Registered Nurse for over 50 years..
Visitation for Mrs. Rice will be Tuesday October 31, 2017 starting at 10:30 am till 12:00 pm, with the funeral starting at 12:00 pm in the Fowler and Sons Funeral Home in Neelyville, Missouri. Burial will be in the Naylor Memorial Cemetery with Rev. James Gore officiating.h
