Janet Silkwood Obituary


Janet Faith Silkwood, 74, of Naylor, Mo. passed away Monday, July 7, 2014 at her residence.

Mrs. Silkwood was a longtime resident of Butler County and previously lived in St. Louis.

She married Clyde Silkwood on Dec. 31, 1966 in St. Louis. He survives.

Mrs. Silkwood was an avid John Wayne collector, and she enjoyed feeding wildlife, listening to country music, working in her yard, and attending her grandchildren's ball games. Ms. Silkwood attended a Lutheran church in St. Louis.

Mrs. Silkwood is survived by her husband; three sons, Terry Angle of Granite City, Ill., Jimmy Silkwood of Naylor and Tim Silkwood and wife Donna, of Naylor; two sisters, Jean Summerton of Elsberry, Mo. and Joyce Walker of Hot Springs, Mo.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Aubuchon and Emma Techmeyer.

Visitation was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel. Funeral service following with Rev. Donnie Fowler officiating.

Burial took place in Coon Island Cemetery in Neelyville.

Memorials may be made to Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel.
