J.D. Rudisill, 72, formerly of Poplar Bluff, passed away Friday, March 24, 2017 at his sister's home in Oran, Mo.
Mr. Rudisill was born October 1, 1944 in Miner, Mo. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve, retiring as Staff Sergeant. J.D. worked as a contractor by trade.
On October 17, 1965, he married Norma Louise (Clark) Rudisill, in Miner. She preceded him in death May 11, 2010.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Hanna Lori Fulton and Jerri Denise Elder and one sister, Wanda Burns; like a daughter, Mindy Pickens; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; 2 nephews, Rudy Lynn Rudisill of Muncie, Ind. and John Paul Rudisill of Sikeston.
His parents, Rev. R.M. Rudisill and Agnes Mae (Warren) Rudisill preceded him in death, as well as 6 brothers, Ralph Jr., William Kenneth, Paul, Carl, Charles and Lloyd Rudisill and 3 sisters, Juanita, Edith Mae and Thelma Elizabeth.
Visitation will be held at 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will begin at 12 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 207, in the chapel, with Rev. Greg Gilberto officiating. Mr. Rudisill will be laid to rest in the Mo. State Veteran Cemetery with full military rites at 2 p.m. Thursday.
