Jimmy Moore Obituary


Jimmy Lee Moore, 76, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., went to Heaven Monday, December 9, 2013, at his residence.

Mr. Moore was born July 27, 1937, in Rector, Arkansas. He was a member of Oak Grove New Beginning Church. He served in the Marines from 1955-1959 and retired from Crown Cork and Seal Company in St. Louis, Mo.

Jimmy enjoyed fishing, reading, giving his testimony, going to his church and to Cowboy Church on Tuesdays. He had also taught Sunday School at Twin Oaks.

On June 1, 1991 he married Sharon (Albertson) Moore, in Festus, Mo. She survives.

Also surviving are his children, Candy Moore, Lea Stivener and husband, Steve, Chris Moore and wife, Karen, and Stacy Moore and friend, Jake; a sister, Sandra Hughes and step-brother, Duane Garrett; 7 grandchildren, Laci Lowery, Drew Lowery, Nicole Moore, Christopher Moore, Bradley Moore, Richard Moore, and Stacy Stivener as well as 7 great-grandchildren; Carter Lowery, Layla Lowery, Christopher Moore, Brock Moore, Ashley Stivener, Ragen Stivener and Morgan Stivener.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Erick and Leona (Holifield) Moore and a sister, Brenda Young.

Jimmy will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar St., Poplar Bluff. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 12, 2013 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Leroy Lundry officiating. Burial at the Mo. State Veteran Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo. at 3 p.m. with full military honors.
