Joanna Chitwood Obituary

Joanna Lee Chitwood, 57, of Fairdealing, Mo., passed away Sat. Oct. 24, 2015 at her home.

Mrs. Chitwood was born March 17, 1958 in Savannah, IL. She served on the board at the Shelter Workshop in Doniphan and volunteered time at the Springhill Missionary Baptist School of Hope in Fairdealing. She worked as a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, gardening, taking care of her home, and working outdoors.

On March 18, 1978 Joanna married Bro. Russell Chitwood in Silvis, Ill. He survives.

Also surviving is 1 daughter, Amy Nelson and husband Raymond Lee of Williamsville, Mo.; 3 sisters, Freda Matney of Austin, TX., Wanda Dowell of Eagleville, Missouri, Dianna Wackler of Piqua, OH.; 1 brother, Floyd Matney of Prophets Town, IL.; and 1 granddaughter, Isabella.

She was preceded in death by her father, Arnold Matney and mother Madaline Nelms Matney.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015 at the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel in Neelyville. Funeral will take place on Friday, Oct. 30, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel with Bro. Larry Edwards Sr. and Bro. Kevin Crider officiating. Burial will be at the Fairdealing Cemetery.
