Joyce Marie (Hinkle) Knodell, 81, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Friday, November 28, 2014 at her home.
Mrs. Knodell was born September 29, 1933 in Zion, Mo. to the late Charley and Zella Hinkle. She was a retired register nurse and a pastors wife for 50 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff and enjoyed sewing, gardening and cooking.
On December 24, 1955 she married Tommy Luther Knodell at the Mt. Pisgah Church in Zion, Mo. He survives.
Other survivors include her children, Penny Knodell Keathley and husband, Ken, Kurt Knodell and wife, Julie, Cynthia Knodell Barks and husband, Cary; two sisters, Phyllis Whitener and Jan Bollinger and one brother, Bob Hinkle; her grandchildren, Matthew Keathley (Deana), Allison Ladd (Aaron), Caleb Knodell, Cody Knodell, Kelly Barks and Mallory Barks, as well as three great-grandchildren, Elliott, Grant and Lydia Keathley.
She is also preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Thompson and Leanna Huffman.
Visitation will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, November 30, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, December 1, 2014 in the church with Dr. Ken Keathley and Dr. William Vail officiating. Burial will be in the Wappapello Cemetery.
