Margie B. Maddux, 74, of Poplar Bluff passed awayWednesday, Sept. 29, 2010, at her residence. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday October 1, 2010 and funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff, with the Rev. Ithel Kenser and Martin Kenser officiating. Burial will be in the Fairdealing Cemetery.
Mrs. Maddux was born April 3, 1936 at Essex, Mo. to parents E.V. Kenser and Verna "Greer" Kenser. She has previously lived in the Naylor and Fairdealing areas. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, singing gospel music and being a grandmother and her church work.
On Feb. 21, 1967. she married to Mark Maddux in Poplar Bluff. He preceded her in death on June 2, 2004.
Surviving are her four children, Verna Meador, Tery Biship, Regina Gale Hagger, and husband Roger, Randy Bishop and wife Regina, all of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Helen Holden and husband Jim, Maxine Coleman and husband, Howard, all of Poplar Bluff; three brothers, Bill Kenser and wife, Edna, of Poplar Bluff, Ithel Kenser and wife, Shirley and Earl Kenser Jr. and wife, Pat, all of Peoria, Ill.; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, E.V. Kenser and Verna "Greer" Kenser; two sisters, Verlin Whiteaker and Verna Edmond; three brothers, Troy Kenser, Loren Kenser and Bud Kenser; and one grandson, Mike Meador.
