Norma Barnes, 75, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Friday, January 27, 2017 at the Westwood Hills Healthcare Center.
Mrs. Barnes was born February 18, 1941 in Fisk, Mo. She was a member of Bluff City Apostolic Worship Center and retired from the Poplar Bluff School system as a cook. She enjoyed reading, sewing and being with her children and grandchildren. She was married to Curt Barnes in November 1958 in Poplar Bluff. He preceded her in death in November 2009.
Her son Curtis Barnes (Pamela) survive, as well as son-in-law, William Lewis; grandchildren, Shane Barnes, Christal Chism, and James Lewis; and great-grandchildren, Trinity, Kitiara, William, Johnathon, Elizabeth, Audrey, Austin, James, Zoe, and Natalie; two sisters, Faye Wells and Carolyn Pennington.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Curt; her daughter, Gayla Lewis and her parents, Hugo Curry and Francis (Rose) Curry.
Visitation will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 30, 2017 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff, followed by funeral service at 2:30 p.m., in the chapel, with Rev. Ted Elledge officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Ash Hill Cemetery.
