Pauline L. Lade, age 89, lifetime resident of Poplar Bluff, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013 at her home.
Mrs. Lade was born January 10, 1924, at Poplar Bluff, to the late Alonzo and Ethel Clara (Snook) Hornbeck. She retired from the V.A . Medical Center and also, from the Poplar Bluff School, as a kitchen manager. She enjoyed fishing, quilting, and gardening. She was a member of Third Baptist Church and Semo United Blind Club.
On August 2, 1941, she married Victor Lade in Corning, Ark. He preceded her in death on June 30. 1978.
She is survived by her children, Larry Lade, Nora Davis and (niece) Virginia Crafford; sisters, Irene Lade and Suzie Vaughn, one brother, Richard Hornbeck; seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Also preceding her in death include a daughter, Linda Grills; three grandchildren, Rodney Grills, Freddy Davis and Amy Crafford; five sisters, Martha Stephens, Mary Matilda Shoemake, Alta Vanderpool, Kathryn Corcoran, Margaret Hornbeck; five brothers, Charles, Leo, Roy, Alfred and Lloyd Hornbeck; two nephews, Bill Overton and Melvin Overton; and her grandparents, Frances Marion and Susan ( Beales) Hornbeck, Charles Berdett and Mary Jane (Schmick) Snook.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar Street, Poplar Bluff. Graveside services at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2013 in the City Cemetery with Rev. Bob Fry officiating.
