Robert A. Smith

Robert "Bob" Smith,72, of Fairdealing, Missouri went home to be with the Lord February 20, 2012 after his battle with cancer since August 2011. Bob was born October 21, 1940 in Champaign, Illinois to the late Emmett Smith and Sadie Harris Smith.

In 1960 he was married to Jeannie Rodgers. She preceded him in death on December 31, 2006.

He is survived by; One Son, Michael R. Smith and wife Georgia of Fairdealing, Missouri. One sister, Patricia Porter of LaPorte, Indiana, Two granddaughters, Michelle of Fairdealing, Missouri and Shauna and Fiancee Jon Sparks of Fairdealing, Missouri. One very special friend LaVetta Settles. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents as well as four sisters, Margaret, Norma, Jean, and Bernadine as well as one brother, Leon.

Bob was a member of the Pilgrims Rest Church in Fairdealing, Missouri. He enjoyed working on automobiles, Body work and making people laugh. He was the owner operator of Bob's Auto Body Shop. and was co-owner of Lake shore Body Shop in LaPorte, Indiana. He has lived in Ripley County for 16 years having moved from LaPorte, Indiana.

Visitation for Bob will be Wednesday February 22, 2012 starting at 1:00 p.m. in the Pilgrims Rest Church in Fairdealing, Missouri, with the funeral starting at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at the Pilgrims Rest Church. burial will be Thursday morning at 10:00 am in the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Fairdealing, Mo. with Pastor Ron Payne officiating.
