Robert Stevens Obituary


Robert W. Stevens , 67, passed away February 12, 2012 at the Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo. Mr. Stevens was born January 30, 1945 at Paragould, Arkansas. He was pastor at Leora Baptist Church and a former member of Temple Baptist. He was also a member of Cardiac Cowboys. He retired from the U.S. Navy and from John J. Pershing VA Medical Center. Mr. Stevens enjoyed riding horses and mission work.

On January 31, 1973 he married Marilyn (Membrere) Stevens at National City, California. She survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Roberta Mills and husband, Robert of Lumberton, Texas and Allison Muse and husband, Robert of Jonesboro, Arkansas; two sisters Eunice Rogers and Marie Goetz; one brother Arthur Stevens; grandchildren, Naelyn and Madison Mills, Camron, Christian and Ethan Muse.

Preceding him in death are his parents George and Nillie ( Kissel) Stevens; one sister, Mavis Eaton and one brother, Luther Stevens.

Visitation for Mr. Stevens will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Temple Baptist Church, 1813 Barron Road, Poplar Bluff, Mo. Funeral services at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at the church, with Rev. Steve Patterson officiating. Burial in the Mo. State Veteran Cemetery, Bloomfield, Mo. with full Military Honors.
