Ron Gallamore Obituary


Ronald "Ron" Gallamore, 62, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. passed away January 31, 2011at his home. Visitation will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011 followed by funeral services at 2 p.m. at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar Street, (9th & Cedar), Poplar Bluff, Mo. Burial in the Nunn Cemetery with Fred Birdsong officiating.

Ron was born on February 1, 1948 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He was a member of Agee Community Church. On December 6, 1971 he married the love of his life Jacqueline (Jackie) Leckie. She survives. Ron has five children Tanya Scott and her husband Larry Scott of Brosley, Ida Malson and her husband Bryan Malson, Ronald Gallamore Jr. and his wife Sherry Gallamore, Cheryl Gulley and her husband Allen Gulley, Roberta Hollis and her husband Brian Hollis all of Poplar Bluff. Ron has 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Ron has three brothers; James Gallamore, David Gallamore, and Steve Gallamore all of Poplar Bluff; four sisters; Carolyn Malson of Poplar Bluff, Phyllis Newton of Qulin, Glenda Taylor of Snowflake, Arizona and Karen Schmid of The Woodlands, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and RubyGallamore.

Ron graduated from Mount Whitney High in Visalia, California and attended college at College of the Sequioas, also in Visalia, California.

Ron owned his own drywall business for 35 yeras. Due to the long battle of melanoma cancer, Ron retired in 2007. The most important things to Ron were his family and church. Ron dedicated his life to the Lord.

Ron enjoyed traveling and two of his favorite destinations were the Smokey Mountains and Branson. He enjoyed going in caves and seeing natural wonders. Ron loved playing his guitar and writing/recording songs and in 2008 he wrote a gospel song "Grace of God".
