Stephen Thacker Obituary


Stephen Ray Thacker, 45, of Zephyr Hills, Florida, formerly of Poplar Bluff and Campbell, Mo., passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014.

Mr. Thacker was born December 14, 1970 in Hillsboro, Illinois. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars, car racing and boats and he loved his grandchildren. He was a J C active in the toys for tots,and the J C s haunted house, he had worked at Briggs and Stratton in Poplar Bluff.

On December 5, 2009 he married Rowena (Cummings) Thacker. She survives.

Other survivors include his step-daughter, Tasha Rowley and husband, Mark; his mother, Janet Lorraine Malpass and step-father, Donald Ray Malpass; sisters, Christine Laswell and Connie Evans; step-sister, Sherry Brawner; brothers, Jack Evans and Gerald Thacker-Evans; step-brother, Donald Ray Thacker; grandchildren, Haley and Natalie Gilbert, Gage and Brendan Rowley and a special uncle, Richard "Butch" Thacker; as well as several uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Ray Thacker; grandparents, Bill and Mary Thacker and step-brother, Ronnie Joe Thacker.

Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, December 22, 2014 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. Bro. Bob Fry will officiate. Burial will be in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
