Thelma Payne, 84, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at her home.
Mrs. Payne was born May 20, 1932 in Acorn, Mo. She was a member of Liberty Church and enjoyed embroidery and planting flowers.
Survivors include a son, Larry Payne and daughter, Alessa Payne; two sisters, Violet Brashear and Wilma Smith (Richard); a grandson, Benny Cook; nieces, Violet Paynter (Luther), and Debbie Foster (Phil); great-nieces, Victoria Drake and daughter, Emma Drake; great-nephew, John Griffith; and a special friend, Michael Willcut.
She was preceded in death by a son, David Payne; her parents, Ben Payne and Cora (Welty) Payne, as well as a sister, Kathleen Payne.
Visitation will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2017, followed by the funeral service at 1 p.m. at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. The Rev. Sue Hampton will officiate. She will be laid to rest in the Cochran Cemetery.
