Vernon Gale Johnson, 67, of Fairdealing, Mo., passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Johnson was born October 1, 1946, in Scott Co. Missouri, to the late Jesse and Alfreda Johnson. He was a member of Grace Christian Fellowship in Poplar Bluff and had worked at Three Rivers College.
On March 20, 1965 he married Cora Jean (Alexander) Johnson, in Creston, Ill. She survives.
Other survivors include his children, Lena Conner (Don), Kathy Johnson, Tammy Somers (Harvey), Mary Kisor (James), Edith Randell (Alan Garrison), Crystal Johnson, and two foster children; 4 sisters, Shirley Fields, Faye West, Patsy Nicoloff, and Diane Kime; 4 brothers, Carl, Jesse, Ray, and James Johnson; as well as 18 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
He is also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Thelma Grace and Bernita Patterson and a brother, Wayne Johnson.
Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Grace Christian Fellowship, 3200 Warrior Lane, Poplar Bluff, Mo., with Rev. Brian Sharp officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial donations be made to Mo. Wild Horse League, PO Box 415, Eminence, Mo., 65466.
