WANDA HILL Obituary


Wanda Hill, 82, of Poplar Bluff, passed away Monday, January 28, 2013 at Westwood Hills Nursing Home, with her husband, of 64 years and family by her side.

Mrs. Hill was born Nov. 22, 1930 in Butler County, to the late Claude Marion Harwell and Sophie Swan-Harwell. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, fishing, bingo and traveling. She was of the Baptist faith. She was PTA president, involved in cub scouts, worked in Democrat Club, and was Treasurer in the city PTA council.

She lived 5 years in St. Louis and most of her life in Poplar Bluff. May 28, 1949 she married Bobby Joe Hill in Piggot Arkansas, he survives.

She is also survived by her children; Robert Joseph Hill and wife Teresa of Wappapello, Connie Marie Evans and husband Tom of Poplar Bluff, and Bridgett Leigh Ellis and husband Dale of Poplar Bluff; 4 sisters; Irene Mae Eloff, Geraldine Derrington, Linda Arlene Timmerburg, and Claudette Marion Bennick; 17 grandchildren; Casey Schmidt and husband Ray, April Ellis, Alisha Hill, Kevin Hill, John Hill and wife Mara, Zach Hill, Robert Hill and wife, Colleen, Victoria Hill, David Hill, Andrew Hill, James Hill, Jackson Hill, Shonda Hill and husband Josh, Jason Evans and wife Nicole, Sabrina Khoeler and husband Ryan, Holly Foster and Dustin Foster; 17 great-grandchildren; Jade Schmidt, Evelyn Hill, Preston Hill, Tyler Phelps, Grant Hill, Aubrey Hill, Greyson Evans, Hudson Evans, Kyle Vaughn, Gabrielle Vinson, Cain Holloway, Caleb Holloway, Caylee Foster, Brandon Cinnamon, Christian Phillips, Victoria Ellis and Chloe Ellis; one uncle; Dale Swan, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Claude Marion Harwell and Sophie Swan-Harwell, and one sister; Clara Alene Robinson

A memorial visitation will begin 10:30 AM Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home 844 Cedar St. Poplar Bluff, MO followed by the memorial service at 11AM Saturday, February 2, 2013 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Arvin Haynes officiating.
