Warner Sam White

Warner Sam White, 86 of poplar Bluff, departed this life December 27, 2010 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.  Visitation will begin at 12:30PM Friday, Dec. 31, 2010 at Green Forest Church of Christ 2535 Township Line Road, Poplar Bluff, MO. Funeral service will begin at 2pm  with Rodger Weems and Greg Carman officiating.  Burial will be in Poplar Bluff City Cemetery with full military honors at 10AM Monday, January 3, 2011.  In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial be made to:Bootheel Youth Camp c/o Laura Tessens  711 One Mile Road Apt. 4   Dexter, MO  63841

Mr. White was born August 27, 1924 in Blytheville, Arkansas to the late David Hester White and Stella Martin.  He was a member of Green Forest Church of Christ and was a previous elder, deacon and minister in other Church of Christs’. He had served in the Army from 1943-1946.  During that time was awarded two bronze stars and a good conduct medal.  He was a minister, social worker, and school teacher, as well as many other professions during his lifetime. 

He was currently married to Valla Jo Stevenson and she survives.  His first wife; Julia Mae White preceded him in death. 

He is survived by three daughters:  Shirley Tessens and husband Gerard; Jeanette Weems and husband Rodger; Lisa Collins and husband Kenny.  Three step-children; Gwen Shanks, Greg Carman, and Brad Carman; a foster son, Guy A. Cox and five grandchildren:  Cynthia Bell, Laura Tessens, Dana Tessens, Kenny Collins Jr. and Trevor Collins. Three brothers, Herman White, Roy White, and Henry White.  Two sisters, Ethel Black  and Snow Griggs.  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was also preceded in death by an infant son  John S. White, two sisters, Esther White and Mildred Devers and two brothers; Herbert White and David H. White

Debbie Diane Wessells Muller

Debbie Diane Wessells Muller passed away December 22, 2010 at the age of 36.  She was born January 26, 1974 in Davenport, Iowa.  She was employed as a nurse at Westwood Hills Healthcare and enjoyed fishing, socializing, traveling, cooking, playing dress up with the kids and swimming.

On January 30, 2002 she married Ishmall Muller in Butler County.  He survives.  Also surviving are children Amber Strempke, Nathan Sisco, Blaze Schoultz, Sheyenne Wessels, and Abigal Meritt.  Her parents Vicky Sisco and Bob York, and grandparents Mary and Russell Sours. One sister Fallon Sisco and two brothers; grandchildren Kadin Willard and Hayden Sisco.

No funeral services are planned at this time.  Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, in charge of arrangements.

MARY EVELYN ELSTON

Mary Elston, 80, of Bryant Arkansas passed away December 23, 2010 at her daughter’s residence in Bryant, Arkansas.  Visitation will begin at 1PM Tuesday December 28, 2010 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff, MO  followed by funeral service at 2:30 PM with Rev. John Harwell officiating.  Burial will be in Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.

Mary was born Feb. 13, 1930 in Piggott, Arkansas.  She was a charter member of the New Life Christian Church United in Poplar Bluff.  She was also a member of the Eastern Star.  She had worked at Snider IGA for over 30 years.  She enjoyed knitting, walking and loved working. 

Feb. 10, 1950 she was married to Keith Elston in Yuma Arizona and he preceded her in death in 1993. 

She is survived by one daughter; Charlette Woods of Bryant Arkansas and one son; James K. Elston of Poplar Bluff.  Six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Lillie Agnes Driskell

Visitation will be Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 11 a.m., followed by funeral services at noon at  Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, Mo.  Burial in the Bell City Cemetery, Bell City, Missouri.

Lillie Agnes Driskell passed away December 20, 2010 at her home at the age of 83.  Mrs. Driskell was born October 10 1927  in Bernie, Mo.  She was a resident of Butler County for the last 6 years, but formerly of Marble Hill, Mo.  She was of the General Baptist faith and a homemaker.  She enjoyed quilting, sewing, embroidery and loved her grandbabies.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Driskell.

Mrs. Driskell is survived by her children, Sandra Treece of Poplar Bluff, Brenda Lerue of Poplar Bluff, Paul Treece of Sequine, Tx., Marsha Jones, Bloomfield, Mo., Beverly Ridenour of Puxico, Mo., Rhonda Holt, Duck Creek, Mo., and Bonnie Green of Marble Hill, Mo. ; twenty-three grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.  Two sisters also survive Shirley Arnold and Pricilla              . 

Also preceding her in death are two brothers Harold Spencer and Cecil Spencer.

Ralph Eugene Windle

Ralph E. Windle, Passed away December 17, 2010 at his home in Cadet Missouri. His visitation will be Tuesday December 21, 2010 starting at 10:30 a.m. with services following at 1:00 p.m. at the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel in Neelyville, Missouri. Burial Will follow in the Kinsey Cemetery. Donnie Fowler will be officiating.

Mr Windle was born September 23, 1929 in Neelyville, Missouri to Charles and Ethel (Hogan) Windle.  On December 10, 1968 He was married to Eva Downard at Maplewood, Missouri. She preceded him in death on January 1, 2006. He is survived by His children:Jerry Janet Cook of Hazelwood, Mo.,  Gary Windle of Fenton, Missouri Kenny Windle of Owensville, Missouri. Jim Thurmond of Cuba, Missouri, Robin Whitehead of Potosi,Missouri . Sisters, Charlene Elders of Farmington, Mo. Freda England of Rockford, Ill.,Nadine Robertson of Fairdealing, Mo. and Carolyn Honeycutt of McDougal, Ark. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.He was preceded death by his parents as well as two children, Bobby Gale Windle and Martin Thurmond. and 4 brothers Ray, Raymond, Alvie, and Charles Windle.

He was a member of the Potosi First Assembly of God and a very active and loyal member. He also served as deacon at the Fenton Pentecostal Church. he enjoyed working with his hands and studying the Bible and his church work. He was retired from Sunnen Parts and Inventory.

David Brooks

Visitation for Mr. Brooks will be after 6 p.m. Monday, December 20, 2010. Funeral service  held at 1 p.m. Tues. December 21, 2010 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff.  Rev. Keith Luke will officiate, Burial at Brown Chapel Cemetery at Broseley.

David  Brooks, 48, of Poplar Bluff, passed away December 18, 2010 at his residence.  He was born April 11, 1962.  He formerly lived in Ripley County and was employed by the Butler Co. Highway Department.  He loved old cars, hunting and motorcycles. 

On September 15, 1978  he married Dee “Bishop” Brooks in Poplar Bluff.  She survives.

Mr. Brooks is survived by a daughter Shanna Denise Luke and husband Gary of Poplar Bluff, his father Sony Baccus and step-mother Barbara Baccus of Fairdealing; step-father Doyle Switzer of Poplar Bluff; his mother-in-law Patsy Cole  and father-in-law Jimmie Bishop;  Sisters Rhonda Dye and her husband , Wayne of Naylor and Stephanie Hogan of Naylor;  one brother Allen Baccus and wife , Gena of Neelyville; three sister-in-laws Dawn Bishop and Debbie Hammer of  Poplar Bluff,  and Diane Kefier, Williamsville.  Also surviving brother-in-law Michael Bishop of Eminence, Mo., one grandchild  Mercedys Waite; and several  nieces and nephews survive. 

Preceding him in death are his mother Veda Hesselrode, brothers Dewayne Brooks and Lyle Baccus.

Bobby June Coan

Bobby J. Coan, son of Ralph Coan and Mary Barley Coan, Passed away on December 12, 2010 in the Westwood Hills Health Care Center at Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He was born February 5, 1934 at Clay City, Indiana. He was 76 years old.  Graveside Services for Bobby will be held on December 16, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. in the Cochran Cemetery near Poplar Bluff. Rev. Gary Emmons will be officiating.

Bobby is survived by one son, David Coan of Poplar Bluff. One Sister Ruth Graham of Naylor, Missouri and two brothers, Roy Coan of Aurora, Ill and Albert Coan of Harviell, missouri.  He will be dearly missed by good friends Gary and Debbie Emmons and family of Fairdealing, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as three daughters,Bethany, Mary Lou and Susan. one brother Clarence Coan and sister Waunetta Coan.

Bob was a retired Certified Welder and a Army Veteran who served in the Korean War.

Bessie Eula Pirc

Bessie Eula Pirc,  87,Neelyville, Missouri passed away December 12, 2010 in the Westwood Hills Health Care Center at Poplar Bluff, Missouri. she was born December 12, 1923 in Neelyville, Missouri to the late Charles  and Mable Delaney. Her services will be December 16, 2010 in the Fowler-Sullivan memorial Chapel at Neelyville, Missouri at 1:00 p.m.. Her visitation will be on December15, 2010 starting at 5:00 p.m. with burial in the Memorial Gardens at Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Donnie Fowler 0officiating.

She is survived by her husband Edward Pirc whom she married on December 8, 1951. She is also survived by one son. John Ellsworth and wife Norma of Corning, Arkansas, two daughters, Kathy Hefner and husband Charles of Sherman Texas and Patricia Hart of Phoenix, AZ. She was precede in death by her parents as well as one son Charles Edward Pirc. who passed away on May 14, 2003.

Bess was a homemaker and dedicated he life to the care of her family. she also had a deep reverence and respect for the armed forces. during WWII while her brothers were serving in the military, she  also contributed by working in one of the war effort plants in Detroit, Michigan. In later years, she undertook volunteer work at the John H. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff where she proudly received a plaque for her 6250 hours of service, and also was a volunteer for a brief time at the Nutrition center in Neelyville.

She was a member of the St Margaret Mary’ Catholic Curch kof Neelyvillle until its retirment, the often attended SAcred Hart Catholic Church in Poplar Bluff. Bessise leaves 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren behind. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

Robert C. Keck

Visitation for Mr. Keck will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, December 17, 2010 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff.  Graveside service at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 18, 2010 at the Bethany Cemetery near Doniphan, Mo. with Larry Leezer officiating.

Robert C. Keck of Poplar Bluff passed away December 15, 2010 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.  He was 92.

Mr. Keck was born April 12, 1918 in Kokomo, Indiana to parents Bud Christian Keck and Mary Pearl Sheeley Keck, both preceded him in death.

He lived the last 40 years in Butler County, but had previously lived in Las Vegas, Nevada and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.  He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and loved playing cards, fishing, traveling and camping.

On November 27, 1946 he married Beverly Ann Emmons in Prova, Utah.  She preceded him in death on June 5, 2006.   

Surviving are his children Jerry Keck of Indiana, LuDean Williams of Las Vegas, Nevada and one Daugher-in-Law Darlene Keck of New York. Grandchildren Cathy Newson, Jerry Keck, Jennifer Diehl, Robert Keck and Lynnette Borland.

Chester Peters

Chester Peters, 85, of Oxly, Mo. passed away at his home Tuesday, December 14, 2010.  No services planned at this time.

He was born  April 1, 1925  in Chicago, Ill.  He was a resident of Ripley County for the past 15 years and previously lived  in Arlington Heights, Ill. 

On June 27, 1995 he married Rosebud” Kayes” Uher in Doniphan, Mo.   He was a member of the American Legion and was of the Methodist faith.  Chester served in the Army during WW II.
