BETTY BREWER

Betty Brewer, 69, of Poplar Bluff passed away, Nov. 28, 2011, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.  Visitation will be 6-8PM Wed. Nov. 30, 2011, at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff.  Funeral will be 2PM Thursday,  Dec. 1, 2011 in the Fowler-Sullivan Chapel with Rev. Richard Triplett officiating.  Burial will be at Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Brewer was born July 18, 1942, in MO, to the late Vernon Brock and Sylvia Clark-Brock.  She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed flowers and reading.  She married Eddie Brewer in the 1960’s.  He preceded her in death in Feb. of 2008

She is survived by sisters Ellen Boyer and Marla Eubanks both of Poplar Bluff. 

She was preceded in death by three children; Pamela Brock, Kimberly Brewer and Steven Brewer.  Two brothers; Billy Cunningham and Don Brock also preceded her in death.

Steven Glenn Cosby

Steven Glenn Cosby,  52, of Poplar Bluff, passed away November 24. 2011 in the St.Anthony’s Hospital at St.Louis, Missouri. He was born on January 13, 1959 in Poplar Bluff, Mo. to Robert Cosby and Iva Jean Dollins Cosby.

He is survived by one daughter, Jessica Cosby of Greenville, Mo. and one son, Ethan Cosby of Ozark, Mo.. One sister, Glenna Ezell and husband Doug of  Springfield, Mo. his Mother, Iva Jean “Dollins” Cosby and two aunts, Wilma Payne and Ruth Ann Snider both of Poplar Bluff, Mo..  One niece Heather and one nephew Kyle.

He was preceded in death by his father as well as one son, Joshua Cosby.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, art and drawing and collecting Indian artifacts. He had worked as a machinist for the Tool and Die making plastic injection molds.Visitation for Mr. Cosby will be Monday Night November 28 after 6:00 p.m. with the funeral Tuesday November 29, 2011 starting at 10:00 am in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel in Neelyville, Mo.. Burial will be in the Hvam Cemetery near Neelyville, Mo.. Pastor Keith Luke officiating.

Daniel Franklin Bruce

Daniel Franklin Bruce, 76, of Naylor, Mo., passed away on November 24, 2011 in The Manor at Poplar Bluff, Missouri. On October 4, 1935 at Naylor, Missouri he was born to the late Frank Bruce and Mary Weiss.  On March 15,1958 at Naylor, Mo. he was married to Wilma Fay Moore.  She preceded him in death on December 16, 1993.

He is survived by, two daughters, Joyce Bayne of Qulin, Missouri and Mary Ford and husband Kevin of New London, Missouri. One son, Oliver Bruce of Williamsville, Mo.. One sister, Francis Simmons of Middleton, Mo. four grand-daughters and 3 grand-sons also survive.

Danny was preceded in death by His wife, Parents, and one daughter Alice Bruce Bayne and one sister, Helen Little.

Danny had been a farmer by trade and enjoyed animals,  the outdoors, and  coon hunting. He had been a life long resident of the Naylor area and will be greatly missed.

Visitation for Danny will be Monday November28, 2011 in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel in Neelyville, Mo. starting at 10:00 am with a graveside funeral starting at 11:30 am in the Gum Cemetery near Naylor. Pastor Kevin Ford will be officiating.

Charles E. “Chuck” Burns

Charles Emmett”Chuck” Burns, 52 of Naylor, Missouri, passed away November 22, 2011 in the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. He was born December 29, 1958 in Streator, Illinois to the late Dewey Leon Burns and Sylvia Irene Whittom Burns.

On August 14, 1982 in Doniphan, Missouri, He was married to Rhonda Farmer. She survives.

Also surviving are two children, Jason Burns of Naylor, Missouri and Allie Burns of Branson, Mo.. Three Sisters, Irene Marshall of South Carolina, Velma Robertson of Poplar Bluff, Mo and Elaine Kremer of  Franklin, Arkansas. Three Brothers, Roger Burns of Fairdealing, Missouri, Rodney Burns of Poplar Bluff, Mo. and Glen Burns of Naylor, Missouri. Many Nieces, Nephews and many many friends also survive.

Chuck had served in the United States Air Force form 1982 – 1989. He worked as the Maintenance Supervisor for the Naylor School System, where he was known as Mr. Chuck.  He enjoyed watching Dallas Cowboy football, Fishing, Hunting, and the summer pee wee softball and  little League baseball.

Visitation for Chuck will be Friday November 25, 2011 in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel starting at 6:00 p.m. with the Funeral Saturday November 26, 2011 in Neelyville starting at 2:00 p.m.. Burial will be in the Naylor Memorial Cemetery at Naylor, Mo. Donnie Fowler will be officiating.

CARLEE DAVIS

Carlee Davis, 79, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2011 at her residence. Visitation will begin 11AM Monday, November 28, 2011 at Faith Tabernacle 209 South 8th St.  Funeral will follow at 1PM with Rev. David Tharp officiating and burial in City Cemetery.

Mrs. Davis was born August 6, 1932 in Fordyce, Arkansas, to the late Odie Allen and Earlee Newton.  She was a member of Faith Tabernacle church in Poplar Bluff.  She enjoyed cooking and sewing.  She had worked for University of Missouri with kids in Green Thumb Club. 

She was married to Wyatt Davis, who preceded her in death. 

she is survived by children; Patsy Graham of Poplar Bluff; Rejoyce Goggins of Poplar Bluff; Larry Graham of Las Vegas; and step son Stanley Dye.  Sisters; Hazella Shelton; Bobbie Yarbrough; Maxine Atkison; Carolyn Robinson; Arneice Tripplett; and brothers; John Allen and Melvin Allen. A whole host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Tammy Smith-Daves

Tammy Smith-Daves passed awayWednesday, November 16, 2011  at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.  She was 46.

She was born June 28, 1965 in St. Charles,Ill.  She enjoyed cooking and was a member of Calvary Community Church. 

Survivors includ her parents Arvie E. Smith and Shirley (Rayfield) Smith; one daughter, Jennifer Marie Hedrick and one son, Noah Benjamin Daves; brothers, Gary Dale Smith and Michael Earnest Smith and three grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 19, 2011 followed by the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. at Calvary Community Church, with Rev. Shelvie Stephens officiating.  Burial in the Woodlawn Cemetery.

Rachel P. Stratton

Rachel P. Stratton, 77, of Qulin, Missouri, passed away Sunday November 6, 2011 at her residence. She was born January 22. 19 34 at Greenville, Mo. She had lived in Qulin since 1974 and formerly lived in  St.Louis. she was of the Baptist faith.

A homemaker, Mrs. Stratton enjoyed cooking, church work, gardening and her grandchildren. On March 23, 1955, she was married toDonald Stratton in St.Louis, Mo. He preceded her in death on April 24, 1999.

Surviving are three daughters, Debra Bell and Bonnie Bowers, both of Poplar Bluff, Mo. and Amanda Earnheart and husband, Tommy, of Qulin; Two Sons, Donnie Stratton and wife. Tammy, of Qulin and Bryan Stratton of Poplar Bluff; three sisters, May Baker of Farmington, mo. Rosemary Riley of Rochelle, Ill., and Bernice Jenson of Bolin, Texas, five brothers, Willis Bennett of Rochelle, Ill. the Rev. Ernest Bennett Jr. of Naylor, Mo. The Rev. Elijah Bennett of Imperial, Mo. Bernett Bennett of Barnheart, Mo. and Paul Ray Bennett of Potosi, Mo. seven granchildren, Angela and Bobby Ducan, Dawn and Jay Duncan; TAitha Hopper, Shawn and Stephanie Stratton, Brittany and fiance Matt Russell, Rachel and Paul Swesey, Erica Earnhart.  seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents,. Ernest Bennett Sr. and Bertha Clubb Bennett; two brothers, Ira Bennett and Bernell Bennett and on son-in-law Randy Bowers and one grandson David Hopper.

Visitation for Mrs Stratton will be November 9, 2011 starting at 6 p.m. with the funeral Thursday November 10, 2011 at 11 a.m. in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel in Neelyville, Mo..  Rev. Ernest Bennett will officiate with the burial in the Berger Cemetery near Olglesville Mo.

Michael Alvin Conley

Michael Alvin Conley, was born on February 27, 1967 to the late Alvin McComb Jr. and Marie Conley. Michael departed this life on November 3, 2011 at Allen Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa.  Michael was 44 years of age.

He enjoyed fishing, basketball, dominos and playing chess. He wa a member of the Agape House of Worship in Neelyville, Missouri. He is survived by are two sisters,  Michelle Offord and Linda Gillispie, both of Columbia, Missouri. Other relatives and a host of friends also survive.

Services will be Saturday November 13, 2011 with visitation starting at 11:00 a.m.  and funeral will be at 1:00 p.m.. burial will be in the Neelyville Cemetery in Neelyville, Missouri. Rev. Donnell McComb officiating.

Delbert Eugene Roach

Delbert Eugene Roach of Poplar Bluff, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, at the age of  87.

Mr. Roach was born June 18, 1924, in Poplar Bluff, to parents, Lonnie D. and Ruby (Sizemore) Roach.  Both preceding him in death.  He was a lifetime resident of Poplar Bluff and member of Highland Drive Church of Christ.  Mr. Roach served in the Navy during World War II.  He was a retired store manager at Gambles and a salesman at Farmers Cash.  Mr. Roach enjoyed church and walking and talking to people in Walmart.

On November 27, 1965, he married Laura Louella (Lampkins) in Greenville, Mo.  She survives.   Also surviving include one daughter, Denna Plaisted of Little Rock, Ar.; one son, Dennis Roach of Fairdealing, Mo.; three stepdaughters, Linda Grifin and Tami Maxey, both of Poplar Bluff, and Johnetta Boswell of Peoria, Ill.; one granddaughter, Kimberly Willshire of Katy, Texas; five step-grandchildren, Steve Boswell of Pekin, Ill., Sharon Moss of Lebanon, Mo., Ian Haynes of Poplar Bluff, Drew Haynes of Poplar Buff and Kyle Griffin of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; one great-grandchild, Avery Willshire of  Katy, Texas; and five step-great-grandchildren, Drake and Tanner Boswell, both of Dallas, Texas, Austin and  McKinsey Haynes, both of  Poplar Bluff, and Mathew Griffin of Cape Girardeau, Mo. 

Mr. Roach was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie D. Roach and Ruby Roach; two sisters, Delma Hill and Melba Sims; and  three brothers,  Dane Roach, Donald Roach, and Paul Roach.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m., Tuesday, November 15, 2011, at the Fowler-Sullivan Funeral  Home in Poplar Bluff.  Funeral services at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel, with Vernon Curry officiating.  Burial in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Northside Nurtrition Center or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

James Curtis Lee Dunn-Jones

James Curtis Lee Dunn- Jones entered heavens gates on November 9, 2011, following a  ” brave” battle with brain cancer.  He was 7 years old.  

James was born September 16, 2004, at Poplar Bluff, Missouri.  He was a student at Mark Twain School in Poplar Bluff and attended South Poplar Bluff General Baptist Church.  He loved all the St. Louis sports teams, but especially the St. Louis Cardinals.  He enjoyed playing outside, talking,  being with people, and playing his video games.

He is survived by his parents; Kimberly Dunn and Ronald Ward of Ellsinore, Mo. and Joe Jones  and Kallista Jones of Poplar Bluff; grandparents Sharon Dunn, Poplar Bluff, Gale and Pat Jones of Poplar Bluff; great-grandparents, Curtis and Vearon Dunn of Flint, Michigan, Esther Jones, Poplar Bluff and Mary Bryeans of Poplar Bluff; his sisters, Maggie Dunn-Jones, Stacie Cannaday, Aklyah Ward and brothers, Mark Dunn-Jones and Ronald Ward.

Visitation will be held at 6 p.m., Monday, November 14, 2011 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff.  Funeral services at 12 p.m. (noon) Tuesday, November 15, 2011 in the chapel with Rev. Keith Luke officiating.  Burial in Poplar Bluff City Cemetery. 

In honor of James, the family request that everyone wear yellor or St. Louis Cardinals wear to the visitation and funeral services.
